His name was Kim Kibum. He was my best friend, the person I couldn't be without. We played every single day, and I had the most fun when I was with him. 

He was also the first person that told me that he loved me. 

We were best friends, inseperable... Until that one day...

You see, commitment is a very serious thing. It's beautiful too, but it has its flaws.

Kibum was a robot, you see... my best friend was a robot. He was 'born' on the same day I was born. You could say that my birthday was also our best friend anniversary.

Robots aren't supposed to have feelings, but Kibum... he could override his system. Because he learned how.... things went horibly wrong...

It was that day on the field that will forever be burned into my memories...

It was field day at school and Kibum was with me. I took him wherever I went. 

The teacher had brought out some plastic bats, but for some reason he had also brought out a case of metal bats. 

My friend, Jun, and I had got into a fight that day. I'm still not sure to this day if he knew what he was doing, but while we were arguing, Jun had picked up a metal bat. 

Robots have this system imbedded into them to always protect. I guess Kibum saw the metal bat as a weapon and took it out of Jun's  hands. 

This is where things went wrong.

Kibum took the bat and swung it at Jun's head. Keep in mind that we were only seven at the time. That hard metal bat had crushed Jun's skull. He died right then and there. 

I remember Kibum putting his blood-stained hand onto my shoulder and asking if I was okay. 

The other children began to cry and I stood there frozen. The teacher had saw what had happened and turned Kibum off. He pulled me away from Kibum as my best friend stood there emotionless and still. 

That was the last day I saw him.

After that day, Kibum was all over the news. The authorities had found about him overriding his system and came out with a new law. It was called Jun's Law. Robots would be searched before they were sent out to fix any problems and prevent what had happened with Kibum.

Ever since then, my mom forbid me to have another robot pal again. Our butler, Jinki, is my new robot. He's not so much of a pal as Kibum was. Jinki also has no feelings. Mom made sure that he didn't. She took out the disc placed in Jinki and removed any trace of feeling from his hardware. 

She was afraid of any robot getting close to me. 

As I said earlier, commitment can be beautiful but it has its flaws. 

The story I'm gonna share with you today is about a robot named Choi Minho. I met him on my seventeenth birthday. He was the type of robot that, at my age, I wasn't supposed to be dealing with. But my stupid friends had bought him for me haha... I won't ever forget the time I spent with him and as I look back now, I'm glad that they bought him for me.
