“Come on! Both of you we need to move quickly! We don’t have much time before they notice that you two aren’t in your cells!” Jonghyun said as he ran ahead of us to make sure that no one was heading in our direction. I held onto Hye’s hand for dear life, my heart pounding fast and sweat starting to form on my forehead.

I could feel Hye’s gaze on me the whole time and even without looking, I could tell that she was afraid and worried that we might get caught.

“Hye, don’t worry we’re going to be fine. Jonghyun is going to help us get out of here and then we can go home to mom and dad.” I said squeezing her hand tight knowing that I was even more worried about it than she is.

I looked at Jonghyun and he gave us the signal to keep going, which it was safe to go on. Of course it wasn’t safe because he didn’t notice that there was a laser sensor in the ground. It sounded an ear shattering alarm and I was paralyzed form it. Even though I couldn’t hear that well, I could still here that evil man in the loud speaker.

“Everyone!! We have some escaping idiots!! Get them now!!!”

“OH NO!! Hurry! It’s now or never!!” Jonghyun yelled as he grabbed my hand and we made a run for it. It came to a point where we had no choice but to split up and meet up again at the front gate.

I gripped Hye’s hand tighter and we made our way inside one of the abandoned rooms and kept quiet. I took out the flashlight Jonghyun gave me and handed it to Hye seeing as how I was able to see in the dark. How is that possible? Let’s just say the nano-machines have a lot of uses, of course Hye was never injected with it. She was injected with something else entirely, something that Jonghyun doesn’t even know about.

I looked around until I spotted an air vent but that wasn’t it…I saw another figure in the room but I couldn’t tell who it was. I adjusted my eyes a little better until I knew who it was.

“So you’re really leaving?” He asked.

“I have no choice; my sister can’t stay here any longer.” I said.

“But you can stay.”

“I can’t. My sister still depends on me to take care of her.”

“What will you do once you get out?”

“We’re going home.”
“You’re parents won’t be there. All the kids here in the lab, all the scientists and spies made sure to erase us. We don’t exist, you’re parents have already given up. Think about it….8 years of being here, do you really think that they are still there waiting for you to come home safe and sound?”

“JUST SHUT UP! And besides you have Doojoon!” I yelled.

“I know that but he’s my ONLY friend, I want you to stay here and we can be a family.”

“The only family I have is with my mom, dad, and Hye. Not you.” I scoffed and tried to push him out of the way so Hye can get in the air vent.

“Fine then, but remember this: I never forget a traitor and you better watch your back, because I’ll be coming after you.”

“I’ll be waiting.” I said and pushed me and Hye in the air vent and made our way through. It didn’t take long for us to find the right spot to land and find Jonghyun. We jumped down and found ourselves in the middle of the main lobby but found no signs of Jonghyun. Where is he? I was sure he would’ve been here by now. Come on Jonghyun! You said it yourself, we don’t have much time. I kept fidgeting around until I heard footsteps coming this way, I didn’t know who it was so I had Hye hide in a corner and placed myself next to the doorway preparing to strike. MY hand slowly began to feel electricity through them and a blade appeared from my knuckles and kept it hidden for a sneak attack. The footsteps began to slow down as if they were waiting for something…or someone.

Oppa, who is it do you know? Hye said through telepathy

No, I don’t…Can you check for me but don’t get close.

I could see small subtle movements in the ground. Any normal person wouldn’t have been able to see it but Hye was looking through the ground.

As if on cue, Jonghyun showed up and he didn’t have a scratch on him. I found it odd but I didn’t want to question it, knowing Jonghyun…he probably wouldn’t have told us anyway.

“Alright let’s go! I shut the alarm off but everyone is still on the lookout for the both of you.” Jonghyun said. “So we have to move now. We’re going to take my car but we’ll only go halfway and then you two will take the bus to this address, meanwhile I’ll come back here and calm everyone down.” Jonghyun said and gave us a piece of pare with an address on it

“Right!” Hye and I said in unison and I placed the paper in my pocket. We made our way outside the building and as we were heading towards Jonghyun’s car, I looked back and saw him looking at us through the 4rth floor window.

We’re never coming back here! You can count on that! We’re going to go somewhere so far away that no one will ever think to look.
