Love hurts Literally

I can't make you love me

This chapter is filled with a lot of things that might be sensitive to some. So read with caution. ^^

Kris decided to unclench his fist. He didn’t want to make a bad situation even worse. He pulled himself together and composed his thoughts. Exhaling deeply he looked at the boy making his way up the stairs. Kris watched D.O getting closer and thought it would be a great idea to act kindly towards him.

Kris raised his hand up in a waving motion, signaling to D.O that he is also here, as he shouted: “Oh hey D.O! Over here.” Kris waved nervously and plastered a fake smile, exposing all his gums to the small boy. D.O finally made eye contact and waved back.

“What are you doing here?” Kris Slithered his hands into his jean’s back pocket and moved closer to where D.O was stationed.

“Oh, hi Kris! I came back to fetch a few of my good coats. It gets a little chill during the holidays…you know. What are you doing here?” D.O broke eye contact with Kris and stared at his own feet, he wasn’t use to being alone with Kris, so things were a bit awkward.

“Well funny thing is.” Kris started cracking up and D.O wasn’t amused, not even one bit but forced one of his famous heart shaped smiles to ease the tension.

“I’m on my way out now; I just popped in to finish my master piece.” Kris stretched his arms and yawned loudly as he kept his eyes fixed on the shorter boy.

“Cool…I better get those coats.” D.O signaled a wave goodbye to Kris and Kris waved back as he watched the boy disappear into his room.

Kris decided he was going to wait for a while till D.O leaves. So Kris stood silently outside D.O’s room, leaning against the wall and pressing one of his feet up against the wall. Kris only wanted to ensure D.O didn’t overstay his welcome.

When D.O came to, he saw Kris leaning against the wall, almost startling the little boy. “Oh Kris, you almost gave me a fright. I thought earlier you said you were leaving? Anyway I got my good coats right here, I guess I better get going, happy holidays.” D.O reached out to hug the giant and Kris only stiffened in D.O’ tight awkward hug.

“Happy holidays to you too, let’s walk out together.” Kris placed his hand on D.O’ back, pushing D.O to the doorway down stairs. Kris opened the door and both boys went on their way to their respective vehicles.

Before D.O could climb into his mother’ car, he turned back: smiled and bowed at Kris and opened one of the back doors of the car, he scooted himself in and looked on at Kris. Kris returned the same courtesy to D.O. Kris pretended to be looking for something in the back seat of his own car, until he heard D.O’ mom start the car engine.

When D.O’ mom’ car was totally out of sight, Kris jumped into his own vehicle and made his way to the drug store.

While D.O was staring outside the car window, fascinated at all the cars passing them by as they moved further and further away from the dorm. He couldn’t help but ponder about Kris’ so called master piece. What was it all about? What was so special about it and why did everyone in the dorm constantly talk about it?

D.O also thought this master piece had been at work for months now and there were no leads or hints to what it was all about. All these thoughts circled tightly around D.O' small head, he couldn’t take the suspense any longer, and he needed to know.

“Hey mom, I think I forgot that coat you bought for me last year, you know the cute one with the little reindeer print on the back. I really want to wear it this Christmas.” D.O squeezed his head through the front seats to pout at his mother.

His mother stared at the rearview mirror, she was taken aback by D.O’ sudden change of heart for the coat. She knew D.O hated the coat and had a hunch that her son was up to something.

“Kyungsoo honey, I thought you disliked that coat, you always said it wasn’t mature enough for a man your age and that it made you look cute…why the sudden change of heart?” D.O’ mom stole a few glimpses in the rearview mirror to see her son’ response and facial expression.

D.O’ eyes inflated like a hot air balloon when he heard his mother’ unexpected question. “Well mommy, I really think I overreacted about the whole immature thing and there is nothing wrong with a man my age looking cute sometimes…plus I know how much you love seeing me wearing that coat. The expression on your face last Christmas was priceless. All I want this Christmas is to see you beaming with joy.” Then there it was, the famous heart shaped smile again, that melted hearts of fan girls and fan boys from all around the world.

D.O’ mom couldn’t help but glow whenever she saw her son’ smile. “Oh I could just eat you up with a spoon, my Kyungie pie. Ok! You have swayed my way, hold on tight honey, mommy is about to turn this bad boy around.” D.O’ mom turned to pinch her son’ cheeks before focusing back on the road.

She made a quick turn on one of the stop streets, causing her tyres to make a screeching noise. The way she made that haste turn, made D.O think that his mother thought this was the “Fast and Furious”, she was truly a pro drifter at heart.

“Wow mom, I didn’t know you could drift like that!” D.O looked a bit freighted, as he held on tightly to his seat.

D.O’ mom winked at him. “You know I was also young before I became a mom.”

D.O smile hesitantly and his eyes started wondering around, he thought what his mother demonstrated was cool but at the same time he couldn’t help but feel like throwing himself in some ditch. He thought his mother was behaving very irresponsibly for a woman her age.

When car finally made its way to the dorm, D.O unlocked the car door and jumped out of the vehicle and went to peer threw the front window of his mother' car. “I will be back just now mom, just give me 20 minutes.”

“Ok honey, take all the time you need, I will just adjust my seat and take a little nap.” D.O shook his head in agreement and made his way to the front door. When D.O made his entrance, he looked around to see if there was anyone else inside besides him and to his satisfaction he thought there was no one else but him.

~

D.O rubbed his hands together and grinned. He was so excited that he would be the first one to view Kris’ so called ‘master piece’. He moved up the stairs and made his way to Kris’ room. He stood outside Kris’ room for a few good minutes, staring at the door knob. Wondering if he was doing the right thing.

He finally found the guts to place his shaky hand on the knob and turn it, by luck the door wasn’t locked and D.O proceeded inside the dimmed room. D.O was amazed at what he saw next, it was horrible. Pictures of Kris and Kai on the walls and a decomposing bone on the wall.

D.O’ eyes wondered towards the bed as he stared at the huge lump that was covered with a blanket. Could it be Kris? Did he suddenly change his mind and decide to spend the day resting. Whatever it was D.O didn’t want to find out, he thought maybe he should quickly run away before the beast sleeping awakes, he had to go warn his dearest friend Kai.

Before D.O could tiptoe out of there, he stumbled and fell on the ground, when he tried to pick himself up, he noticed something he didn’t see before, cut out pictures of his head. D.O frowned; he looked back at the bed and saw a little bit of movement. He moved carefully towards the bed and pulled the covers away. What he saw stunned him, he saw a skinny and almost motionless boy, who he loved dearly.

“Jongin, are you ok?” D.O shook Jongin’ body vigorously. Jongin slowly opened his moon shaped eyes and smiled at the angel standing in front of him.

“I knew…you would.” Jongin felt his eyes closing again, D.O shook the boy harder to keep him from drifting to sleep.

“What has he done to you, don’t give up now Jongin, stay awake, help is on the way. What did that animal Kris do to you.” D.O reached into his jacket and pulled out his phone and dialed Suho’ number.

“Suho please come to the dorm quickly, it’s an emergency. I think Jongin is hurt. Just get here as quickly as you can.” D.O hung up the phone before Suho could even reply back. He knew if allowed Suho to respond back he would never shut up. Suho could yep on the phone for days, if given the chance.

D.O lifted Jongin’ body slowly, so that he would be in a sitting position. D.O felt like tearing up at the state his friend was in at the moment. D.O moved Jongin’ lower body so that he could place his feet on the ground and hooked one of Jongin’ arms around his shoulder. D.O placed his own arm around Jongin’ back for extra support.

“Can you walk?” D.O searched for an answer through Jongin’ hazy eyes.

“I will try.” Jongin tried lifting himself off the bed while D.O held tightly onto him.

Both boys were on their feet now, Jongin’ legs looked wobbly at first, D.O shot a glance at Jongi; almost mentally communicating with the younger, asking him if his ready to take the first step. Jongin smiled and nodded slightly as if he knew what D.O was thinking.

Jongin held on tightly to D.O as he tried his best to steady himself. Both boys put one foot in front of the other as they made their way out of the room. The whole time Jongin frequently placed one of his hands against the walls for extra support.

Jongin’ legs started wobbling again, D.O stopped for a while before they could reach the stairway to hold Jongin in his arms.

“I’m so tired, leave me.” Jongin gasped and exhaled heavily. He looked as if he was about to drop dead at any moment.

“Jongin please hold on for a while longer, we’ll take a break when we get to the lounge. Ok.” D.O’ voice sounded serious but also encouraging to Jongin, to not give up. Jongin gave an exhausted nod to his friend.

“Ready?” D.O pulled Jongin’ right arm back over his shoulder and placed his arm around Jongin’ back again. The boys continued to drag on the seemingly long passage way. Jongin’ left leg gave in, it was under too much pressure. D.O felt Jongin’ weight colliding onto him and both boys tumbled onto the floor.

D.O was strong but not strong enough to keep them from collapsing onto the ground. D.O moved quickly onto his feet and attempted to lift Jongin up with him.

“Come on Jongin, fight! You can do this!” D.O’ tears dripped onto Jongin’ now pale, ghost like skin. Jongin couldn’t bear seeing the man he deeply loved in such pain. Jongin held up his arms as a sign for D.O to lift him up.

D.O grabbed onto both of Jongin’ arms tightly and forced the boy up to his feet, before hooking both his arms around Jongin. When they finally made their way down stairs, D.O felt like half the war was won.

~

They proceeded towards the lounge, where D.O unhooked his arms around Jongin and slowly and gently placing him on the nearest couch. He pulled Jongin legs up onto the couch so that he could rest peacefully.

D.O looked finished. He didn’t know where he found the strength to lift up a 69 kg boy.

“Jongin, I’m about to call the ambulance, so I’m going to need you to stay awake a little longer.”  D.O started dialing the emergency number.

“Kr…Kri.” Jongin mumbled and D.O stopped for a moment to try and decipher Jongin’ speech.

“Oh not now Jongin. You want crispy chicken, is that what you trying to tell me?” you’re amazing you know that!” D.O shook his head in disbelief of Jongin’ love for chicken. D.O began to dial the number again, when he felt someone’s arms tightly squeezing around his neck. It was Kris; he sly sneaked in from behind and now had D.O in a head lock. This caused D.O to drop his phone on the floor, as he tried to break free from Kris’ lock.

“You just had to stick your nose into my business.” Kris squeezed D.O a little more tightly, causing D.O to turn a slightly purple color.

Kris finally released D.O from the head lock, causing D.O to turn around and try to land a punch on the giant. Kris dodged it with ease, lifted D.O up with one hand and threw him against the wall, causing D.O to hit the ground with his head first.

Suho finally arrived at the dorm and saw two cars parked outside the yard. Before he could make his way towards the front door, he caught a glimpse of what was going down in the lounge through the window.

“D.O looks like his in trouble…wait Kris? What is Kris doing here?” Suho hid behind the bushes before Kris could turn his gaze towards the window.

“You’re one brave little fool. Kai is mine, do you understand!” Kris moved in closer to where D.O’ fragile body was now lying. D.O tried to get up, exposing his badly bruised head. D.O’ blood dripped onto the carpet, D.O rubbed his forehead and looked at his hand that was now covered in blood. D.O tried to place his palms face down on the floor and tried to get on his knees before he felt Kris forcing him down again with his foot. Kris placed his whole foot on top of D.O’ back, causing D.O to collapse once more onto the floor. Kris pressed his whole leg down with force.

“It’s time to end this.” Kris lifted his whole leg up with sheer force for the final blow, but before he could finish the job, he felt a tight grip around his waist. He turned his face to see a wary Jongin trying to save his friend. “Jongin, what are you doing?” Kris looked worried.

“I won’t let you.” Jongin felt his grip loosen around Kris and finally collapsed on the floor.

“Jongin! Jongin!” Kris dropped to his knees and placed his head on top o Jongin’ chest, his heart was beating slower than usual. This seemed unusual to Kris. Kris lifted Jongin up with ease and proceeded to the couch, where he laid the unconscious boy. Kris thought CPR was Jongin’ best chance at survival, at the moment. So he proceeded to give him, mouth to mouth. D.O managed to finally crawl and now he was back on his feet.

Suho’ jaw dropped at the sight of Kris’ madness. He couldn’t believe how strong the boy was. He looked around and saw D.O’ mom’ car. He made his way towards the vehicle and found an old lady fast asleep.

“Damn. I need to call the ambulance.” Suho dialed the number with haste and went back to hide in the bushes.

Suho explain on the phone call about the unfortunate events that took place and gave the paramedics’ the dorm’s address. Suho thought it would be a great idea to text the rest of the EXO group and let them know about the situation at the moment. Suho wanted so badly to go in and save both D.O and Jongin. Then again he didn’t want to be on Kris hit list.

Sirens could be heard from a distance, as the ambulance drew near to the dorm. Kris stopped giving Kai mouth to mouth when he heard the strange noise. Kris looked around and saw flashing red lights through the window. D.O, who was limping now across the lounge, looked at the terrified and not so strong Kris anymore. “There is nowhere to hide Kris. You won’t hurt any of the people I love anymore.” D.O gave a slight smirk before dropping to the ground, with a wide grin on his face.
