Home-Cafe et Amour

Sunlight shone through the spaces between my blinds. The warmth of the sun kissed my skin waking me from my slumber. Groggily I got up from my bed and continued to make my way out the door, starting my morning routine. 

Shower. Change. Comb hair. Eat. Brush teeth. Leave.

On my way out the apartment door a glanced at my phone-10:00 am- the clock stated.

Right on time.

I smiled to myself walking onto the street heading towards the bus stop. The warmth of the summer heat had started to settle in at this time. Good thing to because my outfit for the day was a white chiffon shirt paired with burgandy jeans. I decided to acessorize with combat books, a messanger bag and an arrow necklace. Feeling laid back, I threw my hair into a bun and added a floral clip.

As I reached the bus stop I walked towards the bench to sit down. Rummanging through my bag I looked for my bus pass. my hands reaching into every corner.

"Ah, here it is!" I exclaimed as I pulled the card out from the depths of my bag.

Shortly after the bus came. I got on, found a seat and daydreamed until I arrived at my stop. 

Ding

The bus stopped. I gathered my things and walked off. As I entered the cafe I was greeted by my co-worker Seo Kyung.

"Ah, annyeong Soo Ji!" she smiled "Can you work at the front counter instead of me, I'll work at the back. Hmm, how about it."

I simply nodded my head in agreement. Working at the counter was a lot easier than doing tax records in the back room. I don't even understand half of what it all says, truthfully. Math has always been my weak point.

Seo Kyung made her way to the back as I put away my things and walked towards the counter. It was 10:45, a fairly quiet time of day at the cafe, the morning rush has ended and the lunch rush is yet to come. Time flew by at the counter roughly 8 customers came in before the rush bur it was soon after that it started. Orders were being filled as quickly as I could hear them. I got Seo Kyung's assistance to hand out the beverages to their designated owner. It was quite possibly the most inopprotune time for Mister Handsome and co. to enter the shop.

Distracted by their presence I ended up being scolded by the customers for taking too long. I honestly couldn't help it though his presence was way too attention grabbing for me to focus.

I shook my head and started to focus, whipping out the drinks faster than I did before. As I was finishing up the last one Mister Handsome accompanied by Doe and elf boy as well as a new friend. A blonde, he was also quite handsome and tall. His features gave off the feeling of maturity and elegance.

"Oh, so we meet again." Elf boy smirked slightly. 

"Ah, yeah... It seems so." was all that came out of my mouth.

"Of course she'd be here, pabo! She works here obviously!" Doe boy shook his head slightly.

"Ahh, right." Elf boy rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly.

"... Can we order, now." The blonde questioned.

"Aww, is our Sehunnie thirsty?" Doe boy teased.

"Yes, so can we please just order." Sehun sighed.

Mister Handsome stood there, a neutral expression on his face.

"What can I get you?" I recited the line that I'd probably said 20 times by now.

They went around placing their order.

"Caramel Latte."

"Hot Chocolate."

"Caramel Mochiatto."

"Mango smoothie."

"Ah, okay I'll-" I was interuppted by Seo Kyung.

"Soo Ji-ah, don't worry about their order I'll make it. You can go on your break, its almost three anyways." she stated walking up to the counter.

A chance to get off early? This was unusual. Regardless her offer seemed more like a demand, so I had no choice other than to accept.

"Ah, okay then." I shrugged off my work apron.

"So what was your order,boys?" She smiled at them, anticipating.

"One caramel latte for the blonde, a hot chocolate for doe boy. caramel mochiatto for the elf, and a mango smoothie for Mister Han-" I stopped myself realizing what I had and was about to say.

"Uh, for the last one." I finished before scurrying away.

Ah, Soo Ji. Look what you did. You probably insulted them with your nicknames and you almost blew your cover.

I made my way outside the door shaking my head as I looked to the ground.

Ahhh! You're such an idiot!

I looked up to see a man before me.

"Ahh, are you possibly Lee Soo Ji?" the man looked at me.

"Uh,yeah. You are?" I looked at him quizically.

"Ah! Nice to meet you! I'm Choi Min Woo." he introduced himself, bowing slightly.

I stared at him. Wondering why he was introducing himself. From the look on my face he could read my thoughts.

"I'm your date. Your friend Mi Rae set it up, remember?" he explained.

"Ah! Right! Sorry, my memory isn't so good." I apologized

It was a white lie, I didn't forget its just that I tried so hard to convince myself that it wasn't real. All day I've tried my hardest to not think about it. I loath meeting with people, especially those I don't know.

"Ah, no its okay." He smiled. His teeth gleamed, almost like the way they do when anime characters do. "Shall we go inside?" He nodded towards the door.

We walked back into the cafe. The first thing that drew my attention was that Mister Handsome and his friends hadn't gotten their drinks yet and decided to sit at a table near the back window.

" I'll order us some drinks. Can you find somewhere to sit?"

"Sure.." I said absent mindly, still looking in the direction of the group.

As I passed by the group I heard laughter and saw smiles all around. Even the stoic Mister Hansome showed his pearly whites.

He has a smile of an angel. I thought to myself, heat rising to my cheeks. 

Almost as if he heard my thoughts Mister Handsome looked towards me, still smiling. The heat intensified and I swiftly averted my gaze.

I continued walking down the path I had set in my head until I reached a table more towards the centre of the room. I slid the wooden chair out and sat myself down. From there out of the corner of my eye I could still see the group of teens.

Min Woo came by and set a strawberry smoothie infront of me. I wa surprised about his choice, I have an obsession with all things strawberry. Straberry scented shampoo and conditioner, strawberry shaped items, and of course strawberry flavoured foods. 

He placed a cup of black coffee infront of his seat and sat down. With him being infront of me I got a chance to look at his features in more detail. He had straight dark brown hair with a fringe. His eyes were framed by a pair of glasses that seemed over sized, yet somehow managed to look good on him. His eyes were a deep brown about average in size. Full lips accompanied by a defined jaw. Over all he gave off the feeling of a well educated and mature man. Obviously he seemed older but I couldn't quite guess by how much. His style was formal, wearing a blazer with a dress shirt. The only thing that dressed down the outfit was the pair of dark wash jeans he was wearing.

"Thank you!" I looked up from the drink, giving him a polite smile.

He smiled in return and took a sip from his cup. We talked about trivial things, the weather, how each of our day went, hobbies, and family. Through out the whole conversation I couldn't help but wonder how old he was.

"Uhmm." I started to say hesistantly, "How old are you.?"

He seemed a little caught off gaurd by my question but smiled shortly after.

"22" he said simply.

"Ohh, so that makes you 6 years older than me, huh." I said. now feeling awkward because of the . This was definitely not going to work out.

"Hmm, so that makes me your oppa." he smiled. It was different from the ones previously, I couldn't help but feel uncomfortable.

"hahaha, yeah, I guess." I laughed nervously.

He's acting really creepy. What happened?

An awkard silence arose between the two of us. I fidgeted awkwardly and stared at the clock.

"... Do you maybe want to go to my house?" he asked.

"No thank you." I replied staring at my half finished drink.

"Come on~ Don't you want to play with oppa?" he leaned forwards a smirk plastered on his face.

I sat there a few moments before realizing what he had meant.

"Uh, I have to get back to work." I stood up quickly my seat scratching the hardwood floor.

Min Woo grabbed me by the wrist. I attempted to pull it out of his grasp, but he only tightened his hold.

"Let go." I said through my teeth.

He sat there staring at me. Once again I tried to pull away.

"I said let go." I said firmly, looking into his eyes I tried to not cause a scene.

"Oppa~" I heard an obviously fake high pitch voice come behind me.

Kai

Strip Mall

"Where should we go next?" Kyungsoo asked excitedly.

We've been walking around the strip mall for about an hour.

"How about the arcade?" Chanyeol suggested.

"Ahh, but this one , remember. Their prizes are like cheap stuffed animals and stale candy." Kyungsoo reminded him.

"I'm so thirsty!" Sehun whined from behind.

"Alright, where should we go?" Chanyeol asked no one in particular. "Oh! How about that restauraunt in Gangnam. They have the best creme broule!"

"Hmm. I'm not really in the mood for a full course meal. How about Starbucks?" Kyungsoo suggested.

"Nah, it'd be too crowded." Sehun pointed out. " And I hate waiting."

"How about the place we went yesterday?" I chimed in. "Cafe et Amour?"

Truthfully, I had selfish intentions for wanting to go there. I mean yeah, the coffe there was outstanding but I was more interested in seeing the barista there. Something about her caught my eye and I've been wanting to see her again since yesterday.

"Ehhh, but we went there yesterday." Kyungsoo had a disappointed face.

"I didn't get to go! Hyung! I want to go." Sehun turned to me.

"See, even Sehunnie wants to go." I pointed at him.

Sehun started to do some of his signature aegyo.

"Ahh, fine!" Chanyeol smiled. "Let's go." he walked by Sehun and ruffled his hair.

 

Cafe et Amour

 

The four of us walked through the door the chimes above it rang. Infront of us stood about 10 people lined up at the counter.

"It must be rush hour." Sehun sighed, disappointed that he'd have to wait.

"Ugh. Are you sure you don't want to go somewhere else, less crowded." Chanyeol leaned to the side examining the line up.

"We're already here, let's just stay. It won't matter where we go, they'll all be crowded." I tried to convince them.

"Alright." Chanyeol responded.

I looked forward, squinting my eyes to see who was at the front counter. As soon as I realized that it was the girl from yesterday a smile spread across my face.

"What? Is the coffe that good here?" Sehun asked after seeing me smile.

"It's delicious!" Kyungsoo chimed in. "Last time we were here the girl that made our coffee was really nice,too."

Once we reached the counter we placed our order, I tried my best to seem not overly excited.

"Ah, okay I'll-" she was cut off by her co-worker.

"Soo Ji-ah, don't worry about their order I'll make it. You can go on your break, its almost three anyways." she stated walking up to the counter.

So her name is Soo Ji. The name fits her.

"So what was your order,boys?" She smiled.

"One caramel latte for the blonde, a hot chocolate for doe boy. caramel mochiatto for the elf, and a mango smoothie for Mister Han-" Soo Ji told the worker.

"Uh, for the last one." she finished before making her way to the door.

Aww, she has nicknames for us. Wait. Why am I just "The last one" that's not fair. I pouted slightly, disappointed.

After ordering we went to the table at the back of the cafe. The light from the window added warmth to our skin.

"Haha It seems she has nicknames for us now!" Chanyeol joked.

"It seems so elf boy~" Kyungsoo teased.

"Oh, yeah at least I'm not doe boy!" Chanyeol retorted.

"Heh, you two let's face it mine's the best." Sehun smirked.

"Oh yeah, because "The Blonde one" is a great nickname." Chanyeol laughed.

The table errupted in laughter.

Shortly after Soo Ji walked back into the cafe, this time with a man. 

Is that her boyfriend? No, he seems too old. Maybe her older brother?

The man walked towards the counter and Soo Ji walked passed us. Her skin looked smooth and her brown hair shone under the sunlight.

"I think Kai, has the best one!" Sehun joked.

"Oh yeah, "The last one" " Kyungsoo laughed and playfully punched me in the shoulder.

"That or Mr. Han" Chanyeol said "When did you change your last name from Kim to Han."

Laughter spread across the table again.

As Soo Ji passed I felt a stare on the back of my head, still laughing I turned to see it was her. Her cheeks flushed pink and she scurried off to a nearby table.

The man came back and gave her the drink.

The entire time I couldn't help but keep an eye and eavsedrop a little. 

It sounds like they're on a date. But it can't be right. Something doesn't seem right. I decided to keep an eye on them.

"Come on~ Don't you want to play with oppa?" the man asked.

Tch. Who does he think he is?

Suddenly, Soo Ji got up to leave but the man grabbed her wrist, she tried to pull away but the man wouldn't let her. Instinctively, I started to walk towards them.

 

"Uh, I have to get back to work." Soo Ji told him.

Repeatedly she told him to let go. At this point I knew I had to step in. I inhaled deeply in preparation to make the most horrific attempt at a female voice possible.

"Oppa~" my voice came out nasily.

Soo Ji and the man's attention turned to look at me.

"Hmph." I smirked at them. "I'm sorry but if you want to play with someone how about you and I go have some fun." I glared at him intensly, rage pumping through my veins.

"Are you threatening to fight me?" the man mocked.

I raised an eyebrow. "What? Are you scared." at this point rage was pumping through my veins.

I walked upt to Soo Ji and grabbed her wrist pulling her away from the man, subconciously I put a protective arm around her.

Soon after the manager came out. "I think you should leave." he said to the man. He stared at the manager and then turned and glared at me. 

"Whatever..." he muttered as he got up and out the door.

Soo Ji turned to me. "Thank you." she said in a quiet voice.

"Ahh, no problem." a smiled rubbing the back of my head.

Soo Ji looked down at my arm that was wrapped around her waist. 

"Ahh! I'm sorry." I quickly retreated my arm.

She giggled a bit.

She has a cute laugh.

"Ah, I'm -" I started to intoduce myself.

She looked down at her watch, her eyes widened slightly. 

"Ah! My break's over. I have to go." she looked up to me apologetically.

She then scurried off to the back room.

The guys walked up to me.

"Hey, we're going to watch a movie. You coming?" Sehun asked.

"Uh, yeah." I replied still looking at the back room door.

We grabbed our stuff and walked out the door.

Maybe I'll come tomorrow.

I ran quickly to the back room. My heart was racing.

Was it because of Kai or was it because of the horrible date.

My thoughts went back to the moment he pulled me close to him.

My heart raced even faster and my cheeks turned red.
