"Long time no see," Daehyun greeeted me and took his seat in front of me, his usual smile pasted on his face but his eyes a bit swollen, probably from crying. The waitress came to take our orders.
"Americano and..."
"Mocha please."
We remained silent until the waitress came up with our coffees and placed them in front of us. I was the one to break the silence.
"Jiyeon told me everything yesterday."
"I thought so. Mianhe."
"For what?"
"For lying to you and everything."
I scoffed at his apology and he continued,
"Being your best friend wasn't a lie though. I still want to be your friend."
"Then, as a friend, tell me what I should do?"
"Go on with Jiyeon, of course. Afterall, I already cancelled the engagement."
My eyes shifted to him in disbelief. He cancelled the engagement?! When did he-
"Jiyeon must have told you but I cancelled it last evening. And.. I'm leaving Korea on Friday."
"Friday?! Yah! That's tomorrow!!!" "What? You want more of your best friend?" Daehyun cracked a joke but I couldn't laugh at it. He probably doesn't know that Jiyeon revealed everything before the engagement was cancelled and... Where and why is he leaving Korea?
"Where're you going?"
"Paris. Gonna study at a music academy there. Classes are starting at the end of the month."
"You have quite a lot of time. Why are you going so soon?!"
"I don't think you really want to listen to the answer." Daehyun flashed a smile and looked into my eyes. His eyes told me the answer. Jiyeon and I were the reason. I came to meet him to blow up my anger but now, the situation was a vast difference from my imagination.
"Did you really love Jiyeon?"
"Must I answer this as your best friend or as Jung Daehyun?"
"Jung Daehyun.."
"Yes, I did. Maybe even more than you do. I love her than anything or anyone else in this whole world. But you know what? She loves you in the same way."
"..."
"She was a cold girl when I first met her. She never smiled nor laugh
