7.5.1 EXTRA CHAPTER
168 Hours"My last wish is for you to be with a girl who could make you happy."
"Jinri..."
Smiling, I folded the piece of paper and kept in my pocket. That paper came from the novel Jinri wrote, hidden between the pages.
A year had passed since the saddest moment of my life happened. There were new memories but still, I can't forget about her. I had been trying hard to cleanse my heart and mind. But it's hard because I could still feel her presence around me.
Before Jinri's burial, many people surprisingly visited. Even her dad was there. But today, it's Jinri's death anniversary and I'm the only one here.
"Jinri how are you? It's saddening...I miss dancing for you."
My heart throbs of sadness and tears were about to fall from my eyes but I was able to hold it back. I wiped the dust off her grave and smiled sadly. It still hurts. But I can't do anything because she's now gone.
"Look. I brought you daffodils. Do you want me to dance for you?"
I placed the daffodils in her grave and smiled. Brushing the dirt from my pants, I stood up and prepared myself. I played the music with my mp3 player.
It's her favorite song.
With every sound from the piano, I flicked my hand. Trying to express all the feelings I feel.
Don’t hesitate another minute please take away my heart
Yes, the sharper the better, the night that even the moon has closed her eyes
If it were any other man, if it were a single verse taken from a comedy
Burn all the scars you’ve exchanged for that love
Baby don’t cry tonight after the darkness passes
Baby don’t cry tonight it’ll become as if it never happened
You’re not the one to disappear into foam, something you never should’ve known
So Baby don’t cry, cry, my love will protect you
The tips of my finger touched my skin. I could feel her presence. It's making me feel different emotions.
"What are you doing?"
I stopped dancing as someone spoke from my back. I turned my head to the direction of the voice and it was Jinri's sister.
"Ahhh...hello."
Shyly, I sat near Jinri's grave. She giggled and walked towards me.
"You dance well. Are you a real dancer?"
She sat beside me and stared at me.
She looks like Jinri so much and she's cute...
"Yes...it's my profession."
"How amazing. Anyway, why are you so shy?"
Scratching my head, I looked at Jinri's tombstone and spoke softly.
"I'm just...not used to talking with you."
"That's so cute..."
We both remained silent for a long time. I feel so troublesome and timid.
"Why are you so awkward and stiff?"
She moved nearer to me that I gulped loudly. My heart beats fast and I'm nervous which made me feel more uncomfortable.
"It's getting dark. Stars are coming out already. They're beautiful."
"Yeah."
I am unable to speak. I feel so nervous and out of words. My mind is blank.
"Are you ready to love again?"
She looked at me and smiled. Her smile is really precious.
It seems like I want to treasure it someday...
“Am I asking too much?”
"Ah it’s fine. it's Jinri's wish. And I think I'm quite ready now."
She smiled faintly and looked at the sky.
"Jinri..."
Heaving a sigh, she smiled barely while still looking at the sky.
"Liar. You ain't ready yet. But, I'm willing to wait."
There is silence between us again. But this time, I don't feel uncomfortable or shy.
"Can I...rest on your shoulders?"
I was a bit shocked of her question. But I did not think of rejecting her request.
"Ye-yes..."
Slowly, she laid her head on my shoulders and closed her eyes. Nobody spoke...
I could only hear our heartbeats and the sound of the night.
Tomorrow I'll be attending Chanyeol's marriage. And I think I already got a partner.
