Jonghyun turned back to his phone and texted various friends for the next hour. Then his eyes began to close. He eventually followed suit of the rest of the members and was fast asleep with his head up against the window, the last thing he saw where streaks of yellow as they sped along the highway.
A sudden bump caused Jonghyun to awaken. He looked up and saw the rest of the members still fast asleep, then looked out the window and noticed that there was complete darkness. Not even the occasional streetlight lit the way. Although there was darkness Jonghyun could still make out faint outlines of a forest to his left. He snuck a peak to his right. They were surrounded by forest. His heart began to beat a little faster. Where were they going that was this far away? Jonghyun looked at his phone. How long had he actually been asleep? Two hours. Something about this didn’t sit well with him. There was no way that they were still on the way to a schedule. He realized that it would be an advantage for the driver to think that he was still sleeping. He thought quickly, trying to remember all the horror movies he had ever watched, and how the victims stayed alive. Wait. When had this car-ride become comparable to a horror movie? Jjong calmed himself. He could’ve been over-reacting but there was no harm in being cautious and he wouldn’t lie -there was a sort of amazing adrenaline rushing through him at the thought of being kidnapped -even if it was dangerous. Jonghyun glanced at his phone again, covering most of the light coming from the screen so that it didn’t catch the drivers attention. He quickly typed a text to his manager asking where their next schedule was. Within the next minute Jonghyun got a text back:

What schedule? Where are you guys, you’re supposed to be back at your dorm.

Jonghyun’s hammering heart dropped into his stomach. He typed back their situation quickly but the text wouldn’t go through. There was no more signal.. he tried again, even switching his phone off and on.. twice. Still the signal was gone. It was time to wake up one of the other members. Which one would be the least obvious? Jonghyun leaned forward slightly, very careful not to catch the attention of the driver, and touched Minho’s knee. Nothing. He tried again, tapping his leg harder.
Minho opened his eyes at the urgent touch, looking straight ahead at what he thought was Jonghyun. It was almost too dark to make out the shape of Jonghyun’s finger over his lip. Minho wondered for a second why it was so hard to see through the darkness. Then he looked out the window and saw the forest. His mind cleared suddenly, all the signs of sleep disappearing at the realization and Jonghyun’s crucial expression. Minho kept his position still, as if he were still asleep. He took out his cellphone to check the time but Jonghyun took it from him immediately.
Jonghyun swallowed hard when saw the no-signal symbol in the top right corner of Minho’s phone. He typed a message to Minho then handed him the phone quickly.

I texted Choi Jin and he said we have no schedule. But I couldn’t tell him anything else because my phone’s signal’s gone. I don’t even know where we are

Jonghyun passed the phone back to Minho who read it, his expression darkening with every word. He quickly typed back. Jonghyun was suddenly grateful that he’d woken up Minho. He didn’t have to deal with this alone anymore. Minho handed the phone back.

We need to do something before he takes us too far away. We shouldn’t let him get to his destination. Should we wake up the others? He’s no match for all of us

Jonghyun considered for a second but before he could make a decision the car stopped and the driver got out and shut the door behind him. Jonghyun didn’t dare look back but Minho could see him from his position. It was extremely dark but he could make out the form of the driver disappearing into the woods, almost as if he were running.
“Did he realize we were on to him?” Minho asked. Jonghyun looked back.
“Where is he?”
“He disappeared into the trees.” Minho said, shivering slightly. It was getting cold. Taemin suddenly began to stir from his sleep at the sound of the commotion. Key was still asleep on Minho’s shoulder and Onew now lay with his head back on the seat.
“Are we there?” Taemin asked as he rubbed his eyes. “Why is it so dark?”
Minho and Jonghyun didn’t know how to explain to their maknae. Minho quickly woke Key up. “Kibum-ah.” Jonghyun did the same to Onew as Taemin looked around him, trying to make sense of where they were.
“What?” Key whined, wanting to go back to sleep.
“You need to wake up now.” Minho said quietly, still scared that there were people around, listening. Key noticed the tone in Minho’s voice and opened his eyes. Now Onew was awake as well.
“The driver kidnapped us and now he’s left us alone in the woods.” Jonghyun said bluntly, fear absent in his words but not in his tone of voice.
