Chapter Eight

It was becoming an endless cycle, many doctors coming out and talking to other patients while Ilhoon and Peniel watched each one hoping that just one would come out with news of Sungjae. They had been waiting for what felt like hours, just to hear that their friend would be okay.

“You think that they would come out faster with information, with something as simple as chlorophyll.” Ilhoon said sarcasticly, beginning to feel impatient with the doctors. “I mean it’s not like he almost died.”

“Be patient.” Peniel mumbled to the other, he had a lot on his mind and wanted to let it all out but didn’t know how to let it out without the other being angry at him.

Ilhoon just looked at Peniel and shook his head, and leaned back in the chair, leaning his head back and closing his eyes. He just needed a breath of fresh air, but was deciding whether he should wait for imformation or not. Contemplating the two ideas in his head, he began to feel claustrophobic and stood up. “I’m going outside.” He said walking out the two front doors of the hospital.

“Ilhoon.” Peniel said as he finally decided to follow the other. “Can I talk to you.” He thought that this would be the best place to do something like this as there wasn’t much people sitting around them and they weren’t in a closed area. Ilhoon gave a small nod to his head indicating the other to speak.

“I know you like Sungjae.” Peniel blurted out, it was a lot more difficult for the other to say than he thought it would be.

“What?” Ilhoon shook his head. “I only think of him as a friend.” He lied, and it was obvious to the other, but Ilhoon wasn’t aware of it.

“Don’t lie.” Peniel sighed taking a look around the area. “I understand how you feel, Sungjae is a great and amazing person. He can easily brighten your day just by flashing a smile and he is always there for you, for anyone at that.”

“Then why did you hurt him?” Ilhoon asked averting his gaze to make sure there was no eye contact between the two, he could feel his eyes sting with tears threating to fall down on his cheeks.

“I don’t know, it was a stupid act to be honest.” Peniel answered. “I should’ve never got involved with her. But when I found out that someone else liked Sungjae and he took the flirts like it was nothing, and the other had begun to do stuff with Sungjae…. I got a bit jealous and tried to get back at him.” Peniel said with a lump in his throat, he took notice in Ilhoon’s actions and realized he was trying not to cry.

“Peniel! Ilhoon!” The two looked up quickly when they heard their names being called, and looked around for the source of the voice. Near the entrance of the building, was Sungjae’s mom. She had a small smile on her face and was waving the two over.

“Did you get any information?” Ilhoon asked after he ran over to her, eager to hopefully hear that his friend would be alright.

“Yes.” Sungjae’s mom nodded her head, embracing the other in a tight hug. “He is going to be okay, and is being dischared right now.” Letting go of the other, she looked around and looked back down at Ilhoon curiously. “Where is Peniel?” She asked as she noticed the other wasn’t around anymore.

Ilhoon looked around and shrugged his shoulders. “I don’t know.” He could feel anger growing inside of him as he knew the reason why he left. “I guess he didn’t want to be here anymore.”

“Oh, well that’s too bad.” Sungjae’s mom pouted. “Sungjae was looking forward to seeing him.” She said and turned around to walk inside. “Wait here, I’m going to get my son.” She said and disappeared inside the building.

Ilhoon looked around and walked back over to the spot that he was talking with Peniel. “I know your hiding.” Ilhoon spoke calmly, the two got to know each other a bit more after all the controversy between Peniel and Sungjae, how that was still unknown to the latter and himself. “Sungjae wants to see you.”

“Does he?” Peniel asked with a croaked voice walking out behind the bushes. He turned to look at the entrance and saw something that he wished he wouldn’t see again. Sungjae smiling at the face he despised the most, Minhyuk’s. “Well then what’s he doing with that bastard?” He asked slightly raising his voice.
Ilhoon looked over and sighed, he knew that something like this would happen. Grabbing onto Peniel’s arm he made sure that the other couldn’t leave. “SUNGJAE!” Ilhoon shouted as he tried to pull Peniel to the other.

Sungjae looked around. He was in a white room and there were many people standing around him and some small whispers being said here and there. “What am I doing here?” He asked with a weak voice. Hearing some words spoked he couldn’t really tell what was being said, but the next thing he knew he was being sit up and got walked out of the room.

“Sungjae~!” Sungjae heared his mom’s voice and looked over with a smile. She hadn’t been home in the past week and he was glad that he was able to talk to her at this time without knowing what was going on.

“Mom.” He said when she finally reached him. “What am I doing here?” He asked looking around the aread.

“That will be explained later. However, you have two souls that are very worried about your condition right now.” Sungjae’s mother laughed lightly.

“Who?” Sungjae asked unconsciously tilting his head over to the side.

“Ilhoon…” She paused as she was a bit worried to see how her son would react to the second one. “And Peniel.”

With the last name said, Sungjae’s eyes lightened up and he instantly got a wide smile on his face. “Really? Peniel is here?” He asked his happiness getting the best of him. With a nod for an answer he was told to wait here as she went to go sign some papers and went outside for a moment. He took a seat in one of the chairs and smiled to himself.

“Sungjae….” Sungjae’s mother said taking a seat beside him. Feeling his heart sink he could tell that there would be bad news coming and that he wouldn’t like it. “I’m sorry honey. Let’s go.” She said sitting up and pulling he son behind her, he followed her outside and saw a familiar figure, but not the one he wanted to see.

Being greeted Sungjae only put on a forced smile and nodded towards the other. “Of course I am fine.” He chuckled. “What could you expect?” He nodded his head, and quickly turned his head as he heard his name being shouted. Seeing Ilhoon he slightly gave a genuine smile after seeing who was behind him. “Ilhoon~ Peniel!” Sungjae smiled and quickly ran over. Stopping and leaning over.

“Are you alright? You need to take it easy.” Peniel quickly said going over to help Sungjae by instinct.
“I’m fine, I’m fine.” Sungjae said shoving the other away in a playful way. “Anyway, I was never told why I was here.” Sungjae looked at the two hoping to receive an answer from the two.

“That doesn’t matter right now. All that matters is that you’re okay.” Ilhoon chuckled giving his friend a hug, and pulling away quickly.

“Whatever!” Sungjae pouted in defeat as he realized that no one would say anything.
