Final [Part 1/2]

We Are Housemate

(Author’s POV)

Another evening is coming. Like usual, while Youngjae is laying and rolling on his bed, Daehyun still has works to do. Daehyun already back to Youngjae’s house. they’re living in one house again after Daehyun’s  a week sleep-over. Youngjae thinks two of them are in good mood right now. They’re never having fight again these days. Even sometime Youngjae feels that they’re still dating.

Questions are popping in Youngjae’s mind if Daehyun still loves him. He really wants to confess it again—and they’re dating again. No matter what, Youngjae wants Daehyun back to him. But It’s kind of Impossible to Youngjae while Daehyun never talks about their relationship before. Daehyun makes all the things look like normal.

(Youngjae’s POV)

I’m walking out from my room. It’s already 5.00 P.M. Daehyun should be home around 6. I feel so bored. Daehyun often plays with me before He’s taking part-time job. So now,  I’m just wondering around home—when will he gets back to home.

“Hey, mom.” I smiled as I sit on the sofa, look at my mom that is reading her weekly magazine. She looks at me and puts her magazine away from her.

“Hey, Youngjae. Rarely to see you talk to me. How was your day?” She asked.

“It just normal.” I smiled slightly again and look around. “Uh, when will Daehyun home?” I asked.

“He said he’ll back at 8 tonight. He’s working too hard. I worry about him.” My mother sighed.

“What? why so late?” I widened my eyes as I heard mom’s answer.

“He said he’ll home late these days. So I give another house’s key to him so he can open the door by himself.” My mom explained.

“Oh…” I nodded. Suddenly the aura becomes colder here. I don’t feel good about this. I thought and walk back to my room. Wondering what was that feeling that makes me feel bad way. I quickly shake my head. “I’ll take a nap.” I mumbled and go ahead to my room.

===

(Daehyun’s POV)

I’m walking to the counter. It’s already 8, I should go home now. My shift is over today. I go to changing room and take out my uniform—changing into t-shirt that covered with jacket.

“Manager hyung, I’ll go home now.” I said to my manager which is busy with forms. They were people asking if they could work here, so my manager is busy with that forms now.

“Oh, sure, go ahead. Thank you!” He looks at me and bows. I bow as well.

Suddenly, my phone is ringing before I’m getting out from my workplace.

“Annyeong.” I answered it after looking at the phone screen. Youngjae is calling me.

“Annyeong, where are you?” He asked. He looks like worried about me. I thought but quickly shake my head. Youngjae maybe doesn’t care about me anymore now. The one who dumped him just like that. I sighed as I remembered that time—when I was breaking up with Youngjae.

“I’m still at the café—going home.” I answered.

“Can I come there?”

“What? but it’s already late.” I surprised as he asked like that.

“Jebal.” Youngjae stated boldly make I can’t reject it.

“Fine but be careful. I’ll wait here. Don’t ever you walk through even you see something dangerous. Just go home and call me, I’ll back without you.” I sighed and sit on the café’s chair, buy a coffee, wait for Youngjae.

(Youngjae’s POV)

After Daehyun ended my call, I quickly wear on my jacket and put my phone into my pocket. “8 o’clock. Not too night to going there by shortcut.” I mumbled as I take a look to my watch. Well, yeah. I know the shortcut to that café.

---

I’m walking quickly through streets. Don’t want to make Daehyun waits a long time just for me. We’re nothing now. There’s no reason for Daehyun to waits for a long time for me—maybe. I try to call Daehyun. “Damn.” I grumbled as Daehyun doesn’t answer my phone call.

(Daehyun’s POV)

“You don’t go home? It’s already 8.20?” Manager hyung asked me while he’s walking through my seat. I just smile and nod, “I’m waiting for my friend.” I answered. Manager hyung nods and walks back to the counter. Maybe he was checking for his employee’s work or something.

Friend, huh? I thought about my answer to Manager hyung. “Where’s Youngjae, actually? It’s already 8.23—he should be comes around 8.15.” I mumbled and walk outside the café.

From across my cafe, I see Youngjae is going to cross road. I’m walking slowly to him, “Youngjae!” I shouted and waved my hands.

Youngjae suddenly widens his eyes and try to run faster. “…Daehyun!!!” he shouted at me.

(Youngjae’s POV)

I gasp. a car from somewhere bumped with Daehyun. I quickly run to him. Blood everywhere. Several people come to us—try to save Daehyun.

“Daehyun! Daehyun!” I shake his body, try to wake him up even I know that’s no use. Blood covered his hand, leg, and head—or maybe entire of his body. I don’t know why that car can bump at Daehyun. I won’t ever… forgive that driver. I cursed the driver while still shake Daehyun’s body. Try to wake him up.

---

Time is like going faster. Like god push fast-forward button. Now I’m at hospital with my dad and mom. Waiting for Daehyun. I don’t know well what doctor does to him. I just can pray—everything will be alright.

I look at my mom, She’s calling someone through her phone right now. I bet, she’s calling Daehyun’s mother and tell about this. I look at my dad, He’s reading something with his phone. I know well he’s like to read newspaper online or something through internet. My Dad notices I’m looking at him and sit beside me.

“Everything will be alright. Daehyun is not that weak.” My dad patted my back. I just nod.

“I hope so.” I said. “What doctor does to him?” I asked.

“I bet Daehyun loses so many blood. So, well, you know.” My dad smiled. I know he’s trying to—he’s not the type who smile between situation like this. He’s trying to cheer up me. I smile slightly.

---

About thirty minutes passed, a doctor suddenly comes out from Daehyun’s room and asks my parent to come to Daehyun’s room. I know I won’t be allowed to get in, so I just sit here—waiting for my mom and dad to give me good news.

Many things suddenly come to my mind. How if Daehyun dies? I thought but quickly shake my head again. It won’t happen. I talked again to myself. Try to encourage myself. Daehyun will be ok. But… if yes? I start to cry as I think about it. I don’t want lose Daehyun. He’s the one who I love the most. He’s my best friend from elementary school. How could I lose him now? You know right, god, I still love him. Don’t make us separated just like this.

I start blame myself as the one who make Daehyun gets accident. You’re stupid Youngjae. If you’re not coming to Daehyun’s work place, maybe Daehyun will never get accident like this. You’re idiot Yoo Youngjae. Maybe the one who should die actually is me. Daehyun shouldn’t die. I thought. I cover my eyes with my palm. Try to guess what news that my parent will give to me.

Daehyun room’s door suddenly opened. My mom and My dad are coming out. I try to guess what news will they give with their expression.

“Mom…” I gulped as I want to ask what happened to him.
