Rin sighed for the nth time, not knowing what to say to her boyfriend who apologised to her 193832 times already… “I’m sorry, again. I really can’t get out of our schedule today. I can’t be with you” She heard his apologetic cry once again over her mobile.

“It’s okay… I’ll just keep busy myself today. Don’t worry about me” Rin faked a smile, not wanting her boyfriend to be anymore stressed out and guilty.

“I’ll just see you tomorrow, maybe. Happy Birthday” Hikaru silently whispered through his mouth piece before hearing another sigh from the girl on the other end of the line… “I love you”

“My acting wasn’t that bad, huh?” Hikaru grinned in delight after making sure that he pressed the ‘end’ button on his mobile. The other members of JUMP watching him just rolled their eyes and continue the tasks given to them by Hikaru.

“Are you sure Rin-chan won’t suspect that you’re actually planning to give her a surprise party? That style of yours is soooooooo last year!!” Daiki proclaimed which was enough to make Hikaru let off a ‘tsk’.

“Didn’t you see my awesome acting? Of course she’ll fall for it… I’m the best boyfriend after all. She’ll definitely enjoy her birthday this year.”

“Are you really aiming for the ‘Best Boyfriend’ Award or you just want to get your score on Rin later?” Yabu chuckled, making the other boys laugh as well. They then looked at the smirking Hikaru in which they knew what his answer was even before speaking.

“Maybe BOTH…” he answered playfully. The others then just laughed at his silliness and continued their tasks – throwing Kitagawa Rin the biggest birthday surprise.

“Is the cake ready?”

“I think Chinen and Yuto went out to pick it up and buy some drinks…” Keito reported while struggling to put all the decorations up the wall. He then watched Hikaru move on to the next person to see that they’re doing their jobs properly.

“Inoo-chan!!!! That’s the 14th egg you dropped on the floor! Stop juggling them…” Ryosuke protested after seeing Kei playing endlessly with the bunch of eggs laid on the table. You see, Ryosuke, Daiki  and Kei are in charge of all the cooking (which is by the way, a bad idea since Kei Inoo is around…)

“I’ll try not to mess up this time! I’ll be a better egg juggler than Hikaru…” he joked with a proud face while Hika just laughed.

“Maybe if you finish cooking that, I’ll teach you how to juggle… now cooooook~” Hikaru piched Kei’s left cheek.

“By the way, Amu-chan called me just now. She was asking if the girls can do anything to help?” Daiki spoke next while cutting the massive pile of the vegetables before him.

“No no no~ they just have to keep Rin-chan accompanied before I pick her up” the older one replied and moved on to the last group he assigned to do the music and table preparations – Yabu and Takaki.

“Before you say anything, everything is under control!!” Yuya reassured the boy.

“Why don’t you just go and fix yourself for this evening? We only have 4 hours to go before you pick up Rin, right?” Yabu sensibly said before pushing the younger boy into his room and make him change. Knowing Hikaru, it would take him at least 2 hours to get change and pick out the best outfit for Rin’s special day.

“Chotto~ just make sure tonight will be perfect…” he requested to the older one before earning a nod from the latter. Yabu then pushed the boy inside the room and continued setting up the table with Yuya.

Meanwhile…

“Rin-chaaaaaaaaaaan!! HAPPY BIRTHDAAAAAY!!!” Rio, Fai, Amu, Kim, Yuki and Hannah said in perfect sync as soon as Rin opened the front door of her house. She saw a massive teddy bear carried by the girls which was enough to pull both end of her lips apart to form a smile.

“Uwaaahhh~ Arigatou!!” Rin tried to carry the massive plushie as she welcomes her friends into her house.

“I heard the boys are busy with their schedule today” Hannah said, supporting Hikaru’s plan.

“Then let’s have a girl’s day out to celebrate your birthday ne?” Fai excitedly said which was actually part of the plan to keep Rin entertained before Hikaru snatch her away this evening. The girls were waiting for her excited nod but the latter made a sudden frown.
