"It's called 'Boyfriend Privileges'", Ryosuke's voice tingled inside Daiki's head like it was coming from a broken recorder. There are times that he absolutely adores his bestfriend but mostly, his teasing remarks can almost make the older boy go down to his own miseries. He remembered Ryosuke saying this when Daiki saw him coming out from Rio and Amu's apartment like he owned the place. His younger friend wiggled the girls' apartment keys and bragged about his 'boyfriend privileges'. It seems like Rio gave Ryosuke their apartment key, allowing him to visit any time he wants.   "How about me? When can I qualify to get those kind of 'Privileges'?", he pouted childishly while kicking a pebble near his boot. He took a deep sigh thinking how his relationship with Amu is nowhere near as intimate as what Ryosuke has with Rio. Sure, they've been dating longer than they have but the fact they they don't even do much 'couple stuff', makes him miserable. To make matters worse, Amu has a childhood friend named Chinen Yuri, to whom she is very close with.

 

 

He can't help but think how lucky Chinen is, not having a single awkward moment with Amu. They've known each other for nearly 15 years and there are some things that Daiki couldn't take away from Amu... Even if it's already making him half-crazy from all the jealousy whenever the two are together.

Daiki sighed for the nth time with an attempt to wash away the thought whilst waiting for his girlfriend from her 'date' with Chinen. Well, no matter how Amu says "it's NOT a date", Daiki's mind just kept playing tricks on him. However, this is something he can never confront Amu about.

 

The poor boy shivered at the disturbing images of Amu and Chinen together inside his head and involuntarily fixed his scarf, wrapped around his neck as the chilly October breeze kissed his cheek. He didn't even notice his own girlfriend approaching him, poking his cheek to gain his attention.

 

"What's on my Pengu's mind?", Amu said in a worried tone. She cupped Daiki's face and almost immediately, Daiki felt her warmth diffuse throughout his body. And as simple that, a smile formed on his face... His daily dose of "Amu" can effortlessly make the boy feel at ease.

 

"Nothing...", with a smile, the boy reassured Amu and gestured her to sit beside him, "Did you manage to help Chinen pick out a birthday gift for his mum?"

 

"Yup... I'm sure Auntie will like it... And I got this!", Amu smiled brightly and showed Daiki a small Domo-kun plushie attached to her hand bag.
