Chapter 23

Under Control?

Sulli is reading the book Jonghyun lent her when her phone rang.

“Hello?” said Sulli while her attention is still on the book.

“Hey Sulli, It’s Minho.” Said the other line

Sulli dropped the book

“Minho? Hey… Why did you call?” Said Sulli

“Umm…just wanted to check if Jonghyun was able to bring you home.” Said Minho

“Umm..yeah…I’m at home now.” Said Sulli

“What are you doing?” asked Minho

“I’m reading the book Jonghyun lent me.” Said Sulli

“He lent you a book?” asked Minho

“Yeah…he looked for my favorite author and recommended me a book.” Said Sulli

“Jonghyun?” Minho is confused. Jonghyun hates reading. And now he’s recommending a book to Sulli?

“Yeah. It’s very good.” Said Sulli

“Well then…I just called to check on you.” Said Minho

“Oh..ok, thank you, Minho.” Said Sulli

But Minho did not close his call yet

“Ummm Minho…” said Sulli

“Yes?” asked Minho

“It felt weird…when it wasn’t you who took me home. I guess I got too used to it that’s why it felt weird. This is probably a good chance for me to also get close to Jonghyun.” Said Sulli

Minho felt like a thorn suddenly pierced her heart. She want to get close to Jonghyun?

“It’s good to have a chance to get close to each one of the WW club members.” Said Sulli

“Yeah..I guess so…” said Minho

Sulli’s exam result showed that she topped the exam of her batch again. She broke another record Minho made in the past. This somehow put all questions on Sulli’s capabilities to rest.

When Sulli got to WW club, she’s surprised to see a cake which has a message written on it saying “Congratulations Sulli. From your WW club family.”

“Wow…thank you…” said Sulli

Suzy took a knife and asked Sulli to slice the cake. Sulli did the slicing and served the cake to everyone.

“Sorry if we weren’t able to make a grander celebration, Sulli.” Said Krystal.

“Oh…this is already grand for me. I am touched. Thank you!” said Sulli happily

Minho feels that familiar warmth in his heart. Sulli is a simple person. Things like this makes her really happy.

Sulli noticed Suzy slicing another one into a plate. Does she really love this cake?

Suzy gave the second plate to Sulli

“Oh no…I can only eat a piece.” Said Sulli

“That’s not for you. Please bring this to the debate room Sulli. Someone is waiting for you there.” Said Suzy

Sulli is confused. Who can that person be? When Sulli went to the debate room, she saw IU looking around.

“IU?!” excitedly greeted Sulli

IU ran towards Sulli and hugged her almost crashing the plate of cake. Sulli gave the cake to IU and they sat on the chairs.

“Wow…I didn’t know you’ll be here.” said Sulli

“I was also surprised to see the invitation this morning. And Wow…this is a grand room.” said IU

Sulli suppressed the thought running in her mind. This room is no match from the real WW200 inside the other simple looking door. But Sulli doesn’t want to ruin IU’s happiness.

“The letter said they want me to celebrate your achievement with you. I am soooo happy for you!” said IU

“Thank you, IU. I wouldn’t have done it if you’re support wasn’t there for me all the time. But this is just the beginning.” Said Sulli

Sulli is touched beyond words. Having IU in WW200 is a big surprise to her. She knows WW club does not invite people here freely. And so knowing they allowed IU here is a big gift to her.

Sulli and IU did some catching up. And before long, they did not notice that it already got late.

“Wow..it’s 6PM! I need to go Sulli! Wooyoung will be waiting for me.” Said IU

“Go ahead, IU.” Sulli hugged IU “I missed talking to you like this.”

IU hugged Sulli tight “Me too. Let’s do this more often.”

Sulli has said “Thank You” the 10th time that night. Even during their celebration dinner, Sulli has said Thank You non-stop.

Krystal whispered at Jonghyun “It seems talking to IU made her really happy.”

“Yeah, it did.” Said Jonghyun

After dinner, Minho tried to grab Sulli’s arm while everyone is going down the stairs.

“I’ll drive you home tonight, Sulli.” Said Minho

“Umm… but I thought Jonghyun’s studio is near our place. I think it’s best to just ride with him so that you won’t be bothered to drive far anymore.” Said Sulli

“I don’t mind driving far.” Said Minho

“But Sulli is right Minho.” Said Jonghyun at the bottom of the stairs. “It’s most logical if I drive her home. We’re going the same way anyway.”

“Jonghyun is right.” Said Krystal

Minho released Sulli’s arm.  He feels irritated…no he’s angry.

“Is there a problem, Minho?” asked Jonghyun

“No. Nothing.” said Minho but Minho can’t hide the anger in his eyes.
