Chapter 1

Sun Life and WW Club

Sulli and IU found their rooms just a floor away from each other. They agreed to meet each other after their classes.

“I didn’t know you are a Finance Major.” Said IU “It’s good that Finance and Marketing is on the same building. We can meet each time we’re both free. We are going to be best buddies!”

Sulli still can’t bear the thought of being best buddies with a loud person. She’s normally just the silent type, nobody pays attention to her in class. She just takes the seat at the corner of the room and nobody minds her there. Sometimes, her classmates won’t even know who she is until recognition day comes and she gets almost all the academic awards.

Being with IU tests her patience. IU would comment on almost all tiny things and she just don’t stop talking.

“So earlier in class, I learned something.” Said IU while eating “Each student here is required to be part of a club.”

“Really? Do they check if you don’t have one?” asked Sulli

“Yes they do, they’ll check it after your 3rd month. So you only have 3 months to choose a club. But it’s not as easy as that. The clubs has to accept you too. Sometimes clubs would give exams, or tryouts or just ability tests before they would accept you.” Said IU

“Can’t people just focus on their studies?” asked Sulli “It’s hard enough to stay, right? I heard exams here are terrible.”

“Hmm…Sun Life is known to produce well rounded individuals. So they really require you to participate on club activities.” Said IU “Ummmm even if you pass all the test, but is kicked out of your only club, you will still need to leave Sun Life. You have to be a member of at least 1 club all your Sun Life stay. So the more clubs, the better chance of staying until the end.”

Sulli is worried. What kind of club will she join? She is not sporty, she is not gifted in the Arts…what can she do?

“There is 1 club that everyone wants to get in though.” Said IU “But for the past….10 years, nobody has made it to the club.”

“Isn’t that club extinct?” asked Sulli

“You just saw them yesterday, remember the WW club?” asked IU

“So they’ve been members of that club since…”

“Since childhood. They are Sun Life’s homegrown talents. They’ve been here since…kindergarten.” Said IU “Since they became 5 members, nobody else had ever been close to making it to the club.”

“What is the criteria for someone to get in?” asked Sulli

“It’s not clear what you need to do in order for you to get in….But many have tried…and have failed.” Said IU

“I don’t see why they are so special. They are all good looking, are they like the school idols? Do they sing or dance?” asked Sulli

IU almost laughed. Sulli really does not have an idea what the WW club members can do!

“WW club is a set of people who has superb capabilities that no ordinary person can do. They are even called geniuses. Hmm… there are 3 women right? Suzy is the most beautiful woman in the University. She is known for her gymnastic capabilities. She even represented Korea in the Olympics and got a gold medal, you didn’t see that in the news?” asked IU

“Hmmm…I know we got a gold at gymnastics, but I didn’t know she studies here.” said Sulli

“Hmm…That’s progress…the second woman is Hara. She’s an expert on chess. When I say expert, she’s the world champion on chess and nobody has ever beaten her. And the 3rd woman is Krystal. You know ice skating, right? She represented Korea there and was able to grab a gold too! They are just so amazing right?” said IU

“How about the other 2?” asked Sulli

“Ahh… I see… You are more interested on the guys.” said IU teasing.

Sulli blushed but tried to hide it.

“The one who always walked last, he’s JongHyun. He’s a virtuoso. He plays the violin, piano…what else, name it, he can play it. And not just on a basic level, he can play complicated pieces. He even wins international competitio
