"Calorie diary averaging 1200 calories per day...under 20 grams of sugar consumed daily...haven't had chocolate in over 6 days...a minimum of half an hour on the treadmill each day...forward shoulder roll mastered...basic leg splits mastered...tours chaînés déboulés and chassé learnt..." Jongin ticks off the goals listed in Yun's diary one by one, and then closes it with a satisfactory smile. "Now, it's time to weigh you after a full week's worth of dieting and exercise," he pretends to wipe sweat off his forehead dramatically, "and let me tell you this: if you haven't at least lost 100 kilograms, I will personally make sure that you will never get to taste dinner again for the rest of your life!"

"Alright...just be quiet!" Yun dismisses him with a wave of her hand. After getting to know her trainer and new friend more personally, Yun now understands how he functions, and no longer feels intimidated or uncomfortable around him. "You're such a drama king," she laughs, as one foot tentatively steps onto the scale.

The two hold their breaths as the numbers roll upwards, increasing in value rapidly before coming to a stop.

Jongin peers over Yun's shoulder, and gasps a little when he sees the numbers.

"91?! Wow, even I surprised myself!" Jongin roars in triumph as he pumps his fists into the air, "I helped you lose five kilograms in a week! Hang on...that's like...just under one kilogram each day!"

But in contrast to Jongin's loud celebration, Yun stands frozen into place on top of the scale as she whispers, "Nine days..."

"What?" Jongin cups a hand over his ear, "say that again? I didn't hear you."

"Nine days...not just one week..." Yun looks up at him with tears rolling down her cheeks in happiness.

Jongin rushes to her side, and wipes his thumb over the trail her tears left behind as his other hand winds around her now visible waist. "Don't cry," he whispers with his forehead dangerously close to touching her's, "you're less attractive with snot above your lips."

"So...does that mean I am attractive when I'm not crying?" she asks uncharacteristically boldly, but internally braces herself for Jongin's rude remark like the day he had met her at Baekhyun's birthday party.

"...Yes," he answers after a moment of silent surprise, laughing next to Yun's ear breathlessly, before reaching out to hug the girl tenderly, "you did well, Yun. Good job for making it through the past nine days."

Yun's heart immediately stutters as Jongin's lean bicep muscles press into her back, Is he telling the truth? I'm attractive when I'm not crying? The rate of her heart increases to a rapid rhythm to pound against her ribcage. No, Jongin can't lie, he said so himself - he says whatever is on his mind even though it might end up hurting someone else.

Slowly, cautiously, Yun brings her own arms up to wrap around Jongin's waist. This is the first time someone has ever told me I'm attractive...and the first time my heart has fluttered with so much excitement and happiness. Even Baekhyun's never said this kind of thing to me before...

...What's going on with my heart?

On the other side of the room, however, Baekhyun and SM entertainment's owner Lee Soo Man witness the pair as they are wrapped in each other's arms intimately. The pair of them had originally come in hopes of discussing the choreography of 'Baby Don't Cry' with Jongin, since the teaser is scheduled for release in three days. But instead, they became witnesses to a possible scandal between a hotly sought after trainee...and an overweight nobody.

"Well...what do we have here?" the older man clicks his tongue disapprovingly, "EXO is going to debut in less than two months, what does Kai think he's doing?"

Baekhyun remains motionless, body frozen in shock as the heart warming scene unfolds in front of his eyes. How is he supposed to feel about this? Are Jongin and Yun going to start dating each other? Are they in love with each other? Baekhyun internally panics, and his face contorts into a frown with all the confusing questions running around in his head.

Lee Soo Man steals a glance at the fuming Baekhyun at his side, raising an eyebrow questioningly as he sees the vocalist's reaction. Does he...is this boy interested in the fat girl too?

"Baekhyun, what are you thinking right now?" the powerful shareholder taps the younger man's shoulder lightly, breaking him out of his thoughts. "You...do know that your contract specifies no romantic relationships until the first year after debut, right?"

"Nothing," Baekhyun quickly turns to leave with a suppressed scowl upon his face, "you do not need to worry about me at all, sir, just make sure that Kim Jongin doesn't break the rules again." 

Well I definitely don't believe you're thinking about 'nothing'...I see a girl hugging one of my both valued trainees...and what suspiciously resembles a love triangle... Lee Soo Man thinks to himself with silent amusement, as Baekhyun makes his way angrily towards the elevator across from the private gym. But he didn't say anything out loud, and only watches as Baekhyun presses the button violently before the elevator door slides open and then shut.

This is interesting... he raises in eyebrow as he turns back to the couple in the gym room, very interesting indeed...but also very very dangerous for business...

"Yun, can you sing for me?" Jongin puts on his best puppy-eyed look, and sits down on the treadmill casually before smiling up at her, "Baekhyun says you're really good, and I really want to see your talents."

"I'm not really that good..." she blushes, looking anywhere except at Jongin.

"Don't be so stingy. You've already seen me dance, so it's only fair that you show me something you like doing now."

Yun shakes her head timidly, "Baekhyun was just exaggerating, I'm really just average."

Again, a sharp pain pricks somewhere to the left side of his chest at the way Yun affectionately calls out Baekhyun's name. This is definitely not a cold... "Just sing for me, please?" Jongin dismisses the unusual feeling once more, and settles more comfortably into his seat on the treadmill's running belt.

"Fine," Yun sighs, but smiles nonetheless at the thought of singing after days of vocal inactivity, "what would you like to hear?"

"I don't really mind," Jongin shrugs, "what do you usually sing?"

"Shall I sing you my favourite EXO song then?" her cheeks warm to a cute pink, "Baekhyun sang it to me privately, but I know the teaser hasn't been released yet."

"Of course! Anything!" the younger man encourages his student.

She takes a deep breath to calm herself, clearing gently and fixing her posture before starting.

As soon as Yun opens , however, a sweet yet powerful voice immediately fills the empty room.

Jongin's eyes widen in amazement as he registers Yun's voice. Without warning, his head starts to imagine a rainy day, and an umbrella as he and Yun stand under it. A tear escapes the corner of her eye in his imagination, and Jongin sees himself slowly lean in to kiss her sadness away.

It is as easy as one plus one now, Jongin admits to himself, I have feelings for Yun...romantically...
