Meeting More Sunbaes

My One Year Deal

PLEASE READ! AUTHOR'S NOTE:

I have already written a Christmas special for My One Year Deal in case I do not update before then. This special will deviate from the story line as of now. I want your guys' opinions; do you want me to upload it here or if it would be better if I posted it on my blog so not to confuse new readers or detract from the story line. Pleas write your opinions in the comments below. I will be making a decision the one week from now, that will be 23 Dec. 2013.

*Seung HaNeul’s POV*

"HaNeul... HaNeul~" a deep voice cooed in my ear.

"Hm?" I mumbled shifting my head and curling closer to the warmth radiating from whatever I was leaning on.

"HaNeul you have to go wash your face and change. We can't sleep on the floor." I opened my eyes immediately and pushing myself off SooHyuk, feeling a loss of heat.

"Mianhae!" I repeated over and over again, my face burning as I remember what had happened just hours earlier. Before he could respond with anything besides a soft smile I was up the stairs, practically tripping over my own feet when I went light headed from getting up too fast.

"Careful," SooHyuk watching my foolish display. I quickly grabbed a large shirt and sweats from my dresser and shut myself inside the bathroom. I leaned against the door releasing a heavy sigh and combing my fingers through my hair.

I've only know him for two days and I have already told half my life story and cried like a child in front of him. What is wrong with me, really? I ran cold water from the sink, splashing my hot face a few times before removing my makeup. My eyes were puffy and red from the ugly crying I did earlier in the night. Sighing once again, I combed and braid my hair and slipped into my pajamas, placing my day clothes in the hamper. I looked in the mirror once more staring at my swollen eyes then went back downstairs to the bedroom. SooHyuk had already changed and the lights on the first floor were turned off. "What about the bags?"

"We can put everything away tomorrow morning," he suggested, turning off the third floor lights. I nodded finally feeling the effects of the day physically and mentally. I crawled under the covers as SooHyuk turned off the last of the lights and walked in the dark to our bed. "You don't mind do you?" his silhouette asked, some ways from the bed.

"Aniyo, you can sleep with me again." SooHyuk waited for a second seeing if I would take it back before slipping under the sheets with me. I instantly moved over, hugging him almost the same way as downstairs, feeling the warmth come back. "Mianhae, I wet your shirt," I mumbled into his chest. "I'm too old to be crying in front of anyone."  His arms tighten around me.

"You don't have to apologize to me. I understand."

"SooHyuk," I whispered softly, when I thought he was asleep.

"Hm?" he shifted his head to rest on top of mine.

"Thank you for asking," My fisted tightened. "Nobody ever asked about it."

"I'm not nobody," he pulled me closer. We fell asleep like that only to be woken up by a loud blaring alarm. A shifted under SooHyuk's arm that was slung across my waist, and he reach out for the source of the nose. "Time to get up," he mumbled in a deep sleepy voice. He slowly rose from the bed lifting the covers with him.

"Why?" I wined keeping the sheets tightly wrapped around me.

"We have work today," he poked me repeatedly in the side.

"Arasseo," I pushed myself out of the bed and walked to the bathroom, washing my face. SooHyuk moved me over, taking the sink and shaving whatever hair has grown on his face in the past day, while I brushed my teeth by the back wall watching. He looked just as tired as myself but still looked handsome.

"Why?" he asked catching my eye in the mirror. I shook my head and moved to the sink spiting and rinsing. I could feel his eyes on me as I walked downstairs to change into jeans and an oversized knitted sweater.

"Where are we going?" I asked when he came down.

"To go train," he answered digging in his dresser for a shirt. "You didn't forget that you are a trainee, right? I have to train you to be a model."

"I know," I said running back to the bathroom to taking my hair out of their braids and leaving it wavy. "I just didn't think we would wake up so early and go somewhere for the first lesson." I yelled downstairs. I applied light makeup seeing it was hopeless trying to cover up my swollen eyes and face. Why does my face always swell when I sleep? Even when it is a normal night it still swells. I came back down to the bedroom and pulled on thick socks and followed SooHyuk downstairs.

"Breakfast?"

"We can grab something on the way there right?" I went to grab the shopping bags we left last night and brought those upstairs. Then came back down for my bag and tossed my phone and makeup in it, along with a jacket and a pair of heels.

"Ready?" SooHyuk asked slipping on a coat by the front door.

"Nae," I slid into boots and wrapped an infinity scarf around my neck. He locked the door behind us and we took the elevator to the first underground floor. "You know how to drive right?" I asked as he led me to a black SUV.

"How do you think I get around when I'm not on schedules?"

"Oh- Omo is this really your car?" I asked amazed.

"Mhm," he pushed the button on the key unlocking the doors as we walked up to it. I opened the passenger's seat and placed my bag in the foot area.

It's so high off the ground. I used the door frame to pull myself up into the seat. I pulled the heavy door closed then turned to a graceful SooHyuk climbing into his car. He placed his phone in the compartment next to the gearshift and put on his seatbelt. I pulled on my seatbelt before asking, "So where are we going?"

"Starbucks then the company," he explained backing out of the parking space then driving out of the underground parking lot. We drove for a few minutes the ground still slick from the morning rain. When we drove into the drive-thru, SooHyuk ordered his coffee, "What do you want?"

"Hot chocolate."

"You don't want coffee or tea?"

I shook my head, "Too bitter."

"Arasseo," he turned away giving my order and two orders of bread. SooHyuk paid, handing me the drinks to put in the cup holders then the bag of bread.

"I thought you didn't want to talk about it," he quickly glanced at me. "Since you didn't bring it up."

“Why haven’t you brought it up?”

“Hm? Brought up what?”

“Yesterday.”

"I thought you didn't want to talk about it," he quickly glanced at me. "Since you didn't bring it up."

"We can talk about it after work, if you want." He pulled into a parking lot in front of a building with large tinted windows. There were not a lot of cars where there, only a dozen scattered through the lot. We parked a little far from the building and got out. The rained had lighten to just a light sprinkle and our cups left small trails of steam behind us.

SooHyuk led the way inside, greeting almost everyone we passed and me awkwardly bowing as we walked. "You can drop your stuff in the women's locker room," pointing to a door labeled Women, "then meet me in the walk room," he moved his finger to point at two large doors at the end of the hall. I nodded and entered the women's locker room.

Inside was only a few girls that looked about my age and younger with different unique looks. They were too busy talking to notice me come in but I quietly greeted them anyways. I choose a locker in the back, away from the talking women and changed into four and a half inch heels, before placing my bag inside. I left the chattering girls behind and through away the bread and hot chocolate in a trash bin outside the locker room. The hall was empty except a few people walking around.

Inside the double door room was a thirty foot long runway about three and a half feet tall, with red curtains covering the wing at the beginning. Stage light up the runway and hidden speakers played a soft beat. There was a large open space around the runway where a few trainees and mentors were grouped together talking amongst themselves. SooHyuk was talking in a small group of mentors, his back facing me. I went over to SooHyuk's group bowing as I walked, "Annyunghaseyo, I am Lee SooHyuk Sunbae's apprentice, Seung HaNeul. Dassat dangsin-eul mannaseo." SooHyuk turned around amused while his friends looked me quickly looked me up and down before returning my greeting. A young handsome man taller than SooHyuk greeted me, then a woman with auburn hair. "Oh Sunbae you are so pretty~"

"Oh ani, kamsahamnida. So are you."

"Oh nae. Sunbae you are so tall and handsome~"

"Oh ye, kamsahamnida." The double doors opened to the same chattering group of girls from the locker room. Everyone turned to look at the noise they were creating as they entered. They greeted everyone in union and I bowed my head the looked up at SooHyuk. He caught my eye, looking amused again.

The Sunbae with auburn hair yell out, "Line up shoulder to shoulder in front of me." I stepped back a bit as the rest of the trainees lined up beside me, two guys stood at my sides. SooHyuk looked slightly uncomfortable from the crowd of people in the room. I stood there in my model stance as the Sunbaes walked down the line correcting their posture.

"Shoulders back." "Hips forward." "Stand straighter." "Feet apart."

"Please walk down to the line then comeback. Do not stop to pose," the handsome Sunbae ordered, as the rest of the mentors came to stand behind their apprentices. "Watch me then go after I am done." He walked coolly down an invisible line, smoothly making a U-turn, and not stopping, then coming back. Once he got to us I immediately started my walk, leading the rest of the trainees.

Smooth. Head even. I concentrated on long but elegant strides, down my own invisible line and making the U-turn. In my perceptional vision I saw some people hesitated and stumble the turn.

"Don't forget your face!" "Your strides are too long!" "Shoulders back!" Mentors yelled at their apprentices but SooHyuk stood silent. I finished my walk and approached him, feeling confused.

"Sunbae, why don't you correct me?"

"Have you taken modeling classes?"

"Nae, a few when I was young."

"That explains it," he folded his arms and walked around me, looking me up and down.

"Explains what?"

"Why your walk and poster is better than the rest."

"Kamsahamnida."

"Walk again. On the line this time," he led me to a long black line of tape, off to the side of everyone else. I did what he said walking on the line the best I could while keeping my posture right. "Stop." I stopped mid-step. "Walk on your heel. When you wear heals you have to walk on the back of your foot not your toes." I tried it out concentrating on taking the walking pressure off my toes. Instantly my steps were more fluid and the heel made a satisfying clicking on the hardwood floors. "See its better, right?"

"Ye," I nodded, turning around and walking back to him.

For several hours all the trainees worked on our stance and strides. Mentors where yelling their corrections and getting frustrated at a few. SooHyuk correcting me with his hands instead of yelling at me like the rest. Slowly trainees and mentors began to leave and SooHyuk received a call telling me to continue walking while he took it. I did as I was told but kept my eyes on his talking form, by the door. He came back a few minutes later and I stopped, "What happen?"

"I got a call from a friend," then looking me up and down he asked, "You aren't tired are you?"

"Nae, why? Do we have another schedule?" I thought back to the plans my manager texted me this morning.

"Mm, we need to leave now to get there," he said looking at his watch then, grabbing my hand and leading me out towards the doors.

"Wait, wait, I didn't even say goodbye to the Sunbaes," I whipped around half way, bowing a goodbye at the Sunbaes that were left while stilling being led by SooHyuk who was waving his own goodbye. In the hallway was empty except our fast paced footsteps. "Hey, SooHyuk Sunbae why are you still dragging me?" I asked trying to slip my hand out of his.

"Oh, minhae," he apologized looking down at our hands then letting go of mine, slightly embarrassed. My hand felt a loss of warm where his large hand was. "Balli. We need to leave now to get there on time."

"Where are we going?" I asked opening the women's locker room door, voices coming from inside.

"I'll tell you when we are in my car," he answered walking backwards towards the men's locker room.

Why is it so hard to tell me now? I thought walking into the locker room. The voices inside died down as I passed the aisle the same group of girls were in. They all stared at me as I walked by but I ignored them. At my locker I quickly opened it, changing back to my boots placing my heels back into my back and headed back to the exit.

"Hey, you," one of the older girls in the group called to me as I walked pass. I stopped turning towards them, waiting for someone to speak. "You have Lee SooHyuk Sunbae as a mentor, right?" I nodded. "How did you get a male mentor?" "How did you get Lee SooHyuk Sunbae to be your mentor? I heard he didn't want to be a mentor." They asked all at once.

How annoying. I looked at the door before saying, "Ah, that’s why you call me over." I sighed, "Okay-" I was interpret by a knock on the door.

"HaNeul, we need to go now," SooHyuk called through the door.

"I have to go, I'm running late for an appointment." I said, nodding in their direction then escaping out the door. SooHyuk was waiting for me outside.

"What took so long," he asked as we walked out the building's door. Outside was dark and wet from the rain that had fallen throughout the day.

"Some girls were asking me about you." I fixed my bag on shoulder, as we walked to long distance to his car.

"What did you say?" He pressed the button on the key unlocking the car doors, smirking. I opened the passenger door and climbed in. Inside the car was cold and the leather seats colder.

“Nothing. I didn’t have time to,” I answered, my breath coming out in clouds. SooHyuk turned the ignition and blast the heat, while we waited for the car to warm up. In the mirror, I could see my nose, ears, and cheeks pink from the cold. I looked over at SooHyuk and he resembled me, pale and pink from the cold weather. “Where are we going anyways?”

“Some of my friends want to eat dinner together,” he checked his phone then handed it to me. I looked down at it, showing directions to a restaurant in Nonhyeon-dong. “I hope you don’t mind I invited you without asking,” shifting gears and pulling on his seatbelt. “I thought it would be a time for you to meet other models, actors, and artists.” The windows were fogging as he turned out of the parking lot. At the mention of meeting other people, my stomach turned.

“Am I underdressed?” I asked, looking down at myself.

“Ani, you're fine it’s just a couple of friends,” he motioned his hand for me to move his phone so he could look at it. He glanced at my face before focusing back on the road. "Don't worry, it'll be nice."

Several minutes of driving we were at the restaurant. SooHyuk parked and gathered his things, taking his phone back. I let out a shaky breath before stepping out of the car with a confident face. The cold wind hit me taking away the warmth of the car instantly. I checked myself one last time in the car's window then followed SooHyuk inside. The restaurant was filled mostly of hip looking young people and in open kitchen to watch the chiefs. SooHyuk headed up a hidden staircase right before the exit. I followed him up the narrow stairs, its roof so low that both SooHyuk and I had to hunch over a bit. Nothing is ever made for tall people. The floor opened to a spacious room. Its tables farther spaced from each other, but only half the amount of tables. The room was empty except for a table by the window. Two men and a woman sat there talking and laughing. From the door I could clearly see they were good looking and taller than normal. Models. Sunbaes.

“Hyung,” the tallest man stood up first, spotting us in the doorway, followed by the other man and woman. “How are you?” he walked over to us. He was clearly the tallest one here with strong eyebrows, a cute smile and the longest legs I’ve ever seen. They both hugged and I bowed to him.

“Annyunghaseyo, Seung HaNeul.” He returned my bow as the woman came up behind him. She was beautiful with short brown hair and full pink lips. She was only a few inches shorter than him and had long legs just like him. I bowed to her and repeated my greeting.

“Annyunghaseyo, I’m Kim WooBin,” the tall man introduced himself.

“Annyunghaseyo, I’m Yoo JiAha,” the woman beside WooBin Sunbae said next. Standing next to them was JongHyung Oppa, who was smiling his cute smile.

“Oppa,” I smiled relieved.

“HaNeul,” he hugged me, surprising everyone, including myself.

“Oppa?” WooBin and JiAha Sunbaes asked at the same time.

“Yah, yah, sit down.” SooHyuk gently pushed JungHyun Oppa towards his seat. We followed rearranging the sits for five people. WooBin and JiAha Sunbaes siting together while I sat on the other side of the table between SooHyuk and a grinning JungHyun Oppa. Both WooBin and JiAha Sunbaes looked at each other with raised eyebrows at the site.

“Hyung were you busy?” WooBin Sunbae asked. “When I called you, you sounded like you were at the company.”

“HaNeul and I were training.”

“Ah,” he turned to me with a knowing look, “So you are Hyung’s apprentice everyone is talking about. Minhae, I had to end your training early, but we never get to meet up because of our schedule conflictions.”

“Oh, ye, it’s alright,” I shook my hands in front of me. “I won’t want to be the reason for you all not to meet up.”

“Hyung, you just ended your drama, right?” JongHyun asked curiously. “How was it?”

“Yeah, Top Star,” SooHyuk grinned, “How was it?”
