Prologue

Kibum sat by himself in the cafe, his head propped up on his right hand. The other hand cradled a steaming cup of black, bitter coffee that he had not drunk yet. His dark eyes were half-glazed over, staring into space.

A long time had passed, such a long time that some memories were already beginning to fade from his mind. Yet... Why can't I forget him? Why is his voice; his smile still so clear in my mind?

"Kibum hyung?" a voice called. Someone slid into the seat across from him, but he was still in a daze. A few months ago, someone so familiar to him had done that too. "Hyung." the voice was gentler now, a warm hand rested on his arm. Dongho held out a thin, cream-coloured envelope to him."Ke... Kevin hyung asked me to give this to you the next time you come back."

Kibum's head shot up; he blinked. "Kevin? When? Where is he?"

"The day before... Before you and Kevin hyung..." Dongho faltered, before pushing the envelope into Kibum's hand. The latter stared at it blankly, at his name scrawled over the front flap in Kevin's neat handwriting.

"You have to get over him, hyung." the younger boy stood up, preparing to leave. Turned back and said something softly, so soft it was barely a whisper. "He was never good enough for you, hyung."

Even after Dongho left to continue working, Kibum sat there, his coffee cold and untouched. The envelope still clutched in his hand. Thinking back to the first time he had met Kevin...
