ANN’S POV:

The next morning came and I received a call from Ivan. “Hello Ann?” Ivan asked from the other line.

“Ivan? What made you call?” I asked. “Oh, have I disturbed you?” he asked. “Oh no. Actually I

was doing nothing.” I said. “Oh I see.” He said.” “So what made you call?” “Oh. Uhm.. Ann, I’m

outside your house. I wanted to talk to you. Please?” he asked. “Ok sure. I’m coming. Wait for a moment.”

I said. I hang the phone and went out my room. I rushed down the stairs and headed to the gate.

“Why isn’t this opening?”  I said to myself. I searched for a button or something that could open it

but I couldn’t find one. I moved back and forth, side by side to look for the button but I’ve seen none.

When I rested for awhile, it just opened itself. “Whoa!” I exclaimed then I remember I was meeting

Ivan out. I ran and looked for him there. “Hey Ivan!” I said running. “I’m sorry it took me for awhile to

come down. I got stuck in the gate. I just do not know how to open it. Luckily, it just opened.” I said still

catching my breath. “It’s okay Ann. Let’s take a seat here for awhile while your catching your breath.”

He said as he led me to the gutter. We sat down together while I was still catching my breath.

“Let’s get in Ivan.” I offered. “No thanks. I was just here to ask you if you might help.” he said. “What help?”

I asked. “Ann, I know we just met but I really need your help.” He continued. “What is it?” I asked curiously.

“Don’t think that I’m taking advantage at you but..” he paused. “What is it Ivan?” I asked.

“Can you pretend to be my girl? Just for now.” He blurted out. I was shock for a moment but I regained

my consciousness when he spoke. “But if you don’t want to, its fine.” With no second thought, I agreed with him.

“Are you sure you’re getting into this trouble Ann?” he exclaimed. “Is this a big trouble Ivan? I guess not.

I don’t think you’ll gonna drag me to trouble.” I said calmly. “I won’t! I promise Ann!” he said as he hugged me.

He hugged me for a couple of minutes then we broke it out. We felt awkward after that. “Oops sorry.

I was just so glad. I promise you Ann, it’s just for now.” He said. “Sure no problem.” I said. While we were talking,

Ivan received a phone call. “Excuse me Ann. I have to take this call.” He said gently. “Oh sure.” I said.

He stood up and answered the phone. “Hello dude!...Oh Yah..Now?..Okay okay I’ll  bring my girl.”

Was all he said. I bet, the one that called him awhile ago was his friend whom he was talking about awhile ago.

“Ann?” he asked. “He’s meeting us today. Is it okay for you?” he asked. “Oh. No that’s not a problem.

Actually I’ve been bored all alone in my room. I guess I need to look presentable for the meet up?” I said.

“I guess you look good already, but I have to look good as well. I have to go. I

need to fix myself to look good just like my girlfriend.” He said as he moved his hand like quoting as

he spoke the girlfriend thing. We both laugh at his gesture. “Then I’d make myself pretty for my

boyfriend as well?” I said as I copied his action awhile ago. “I guess you need to. Okay I’ll be here at 2 okay?”

he asked. “Okay. See you.” I said. I’ve waited for him to leave and went in the house. “This is going to be fun.”

I said to myself and chuckled. I went in my room and headed to my walk in closet. I searched for a good

dress and luckily I found one. I looked for a pair of shoes to match my dress. I got a clutch bag to keep my things in.

I placed them in my bed as I headed to the bath room. I took a shower and after, I blow dried my hair.

After assuring it was already dry, I put on my clothes and fixed myself. I heard the car beeping then my phone

vibrated; it was a text message from Ivan. [I’m here.] I got my bag and rushed down. I was already in front of the

gate but I don’t know how to open it. “Open sesame!” I yelled but nothing happened. “Damn it!” I said.

Suddenly Manang Linda went to me. “Miss Ann.” She said. “Manang.” I said. “What’s wrong?” she asked.

“The gate’s not opening. Ivan’s out waiting for me.” I said. “Don’t worry Miss Ann.” She said as she moved

beside me. Suddenly, the gate opened by itself. “How’d you do that?” I asked. “You’ll know, but I think for

now, you should go to you date.” She said. “Manang, we’ll not be dating. We’ll just meet a friend of his.”

I said. “Just take care miss Ann.” She said. “I will. Thank you manang.” I said as I went to Ivan’s car. He

was already out of his car while waiting for me. “Got stuck again huh?” he asked again as he flushed a cute smile.

“Yep. I still do not know what’s the secret behind that gate.” I said as I pouted. “Hahaha, you look so cute!”

he said as he pinched my cheeks. “I know, I know, you don’t have to say it.” I said. “I didn’t know that you’re more

conceited as I am.” He said. “Whatever.” I said. “Okay let’s go now; maybe we could get an LQ just because of this.”

He joked. I laughed as I walked on the other side of the car. Ivan followed me and opened the door for me.

“Thank you.” I said as he closed the door. He started the engine and drove to our destination.

“Wait, don’t you think he would ask us when, where and how we met?” I asked. “Oh yah before I forget. I have this.”

He said as he got a piece of paper from the dashboard and passed it to me. “What is this?” I

asked upon receiving the paper. He looked at me then back to the road and spoke, “Well, that’s a script or let’s say,

our love story.” he said. “You planned for this didn’t you?” I asked as I smiled at his foolishness.

“Well I just prepared this awhile ago. I took it from a, movie me and Tricia used to watch before.” He said.

There was a long silence and I could feel Ivan’s sadness. “I’m your girlfriend now so, let’s just make our own

love story okay?” I said to cheer him up. “Okay, so what now?” he asked. “Well let’s say, I was hit by a car,

then you were there and helped me, brought me to the hospital and took good care of me. When I woke up,

I couldn’t remember anything. Then we just fell in love with each other. How’s that?” I said.

“Well, it could be the best story he’ll ever hear.” He said. “So you must act well so you’ll have the best actor award.”

I joked. I wasn’t able to notice that we were already there until he spoke, “We’re here!”. We went out the car and

had our last minute practice. “Just don’t go too far.” I reminded. “Well, can I just hold my girlfriend’s hand?” he asked.

“Okay..” I said as we moved in.
