So I started writing this around December, and I honestly wasn't expecting it to be so long. But somehow, one way or another, life decided to kick my and I finished this a little later than promised. Either way, I hope you enjoy this even though it is no longer Christmas. :) 

Surprise! Couple: BTS Namjoon x Seokjin

“I’m begging you. Do not hang up the mistletoe.”

Hyesung stared straight at Eric, who was on a ladder in the middle of their son’s kitchen hanging decorations for the Christmas party they had to stomach in the next couple of hours. 

Not that they had a lot of other guests.

No, no. They get to meet Yunho’s parents.

They knew that Yunho’s parents had adopted him when he was very young and raised him in South Korea until he was eighteen and then moved back to America so Yunho can go to MIT like his father. They were great parents. 

If you forget that somehow, one way or another, they somehow kidnapped Jaejoong in the process and were never seen again until Jaejoong popped out his fourth kid and had suffered from blood loss to the point that they flew them to America in case he died. 

Oh, they are swimming with joy.

Hyesung had never shown how bitter he was about the whole ordeal. No, that was Eric’s job. He just had to play the understandable one. 

“Oh, come on Sungie. It’ll be fun. Not like we know all these other people personally. We can ruin a few relationships.”

Hyesung gave him a look, and Eric put the mistletoe down. Satisfied, he turned around to check on the mini hors d’oeuvres in the oven, not noticing Eric moving the ladder and hanging the festive plant on top of the front door. 

“That’s what he gets for trusting me.” Eric snickered.

Minwoo and Junjin looked so out of place in the living room. Their parents had forced them into tuxes to wear for the party while the guests wore ugly sweaters and Christmas costumes to celebrate the occasion. Junsu, Changmin and Doyoon were all wearing reindeer costumes with little collars with the names of Santa’s reindeers. Doyoon, however, had the one with ‘Rudolph’, and Junsu and Changmin glared at him from around the corner. 

“Why does he get to be Rudolph? I was always Rudolph!” Changmin growled, and glared when one of the guests would make a comment towards his younger brother. Now, he was ‘Cupid’, the little collar flashing the name proudly on his neck. Junsu glowered, turning towards Changmin, the bell along with the name ‘Blitzen’ jingled from the movement. 

“Yah, Jung Changmin. I was ‘Rudolph’ before you were born and you took that away from me. If anything, that name should belong to me!” Junsu crossed his arms to challenge his little brother. Changmin turned away from Doyoon to stare down the one next to him, and Junsu smirked. 

“Let’s make a game. We both walk on separate sides of the rooms, and see how many people we can gather over our costumes. The one with the most gets their right to be the true Rudolph heir.” Junsu stuck out his hand, and Changmin grabbed it. 

“Oh, it’s on like Donkey Kong.”

“Oh, that sounds like war.” Minwoo popped out from the side to look at his angry brothers. “What are the wages?” he asked as he plopped down next to them and Junsu smiled cutely at him. 

“Who do you think is the cutest reindeer from me and Changmin?” Junsu asked, and Changmin gasped. 

“How DARE you bring our own brother into this?”

“Now, now. Eric. You need to stop fussing over your sweater. You look great.” Hyesung said, pinching Eric from fiddling with the oversized fluff. He had on an ugly sweater earlier, but Hyesung and Jaejoong deemed it inappropriate in front of kids and demanded he changed.

Like how is ‘Jingle My Bells’ inappropriate?

That was uncalled for. He apologizes.

“I’m not fussing. It’s just a little hot.” Eric mumbled, and Hyesung rolled his eyes. 

“Go check on the guests. Make sure everyone is having fun.” Hyesung pointed and walked away. Eric’s eyes lingered on the back of the man that promised him his present of chocolate syrup and whipped cream at the end of the night, and…

Where was he going with this?

“Mr. Mun!”

Eric turned and came to face Jaejoong’s new neighbors. They both had a drink in their hand and their face red from being tipsy, and Eric smiled awkwardly. It wasn’t everyday that you meet other Koreans in the States, especially another gay couple. They were just recently married and obviously enjoying the honeymoon phase of their relationship.

“He-ey, guys!” Eric awkwardly exclaimed, but was soon muffled by both their bodies clinging onto him in a bear hug. “Didn’t we have this talk about boundaries?”

“What talk?” Oh, now he knows they are testing their limits. Eric shoved them off. “We just missed you!” 

Eric stepped back, a disgusted look on his face.

“You don’t even know me.” Eric scoffed, and both of them laughed. 

“Namjoon was just asking me if you and Hyesung might be looking forward to a trip this upcoming year. We were planning on going to the Bahamas, and I was wondering if you guys would like to come along! We would appreciate the company, and everything will be paid for, of course. It seems you guys need to have some alone time with each other after being here with your grandkids and your overly strict son.”

“You know I can hear you, Jin.” Jaejoong walked up to them, a mineral water in hand. He smiled at both of them before going up to his father and wrapping an arm around his shoulders. “But you’re right. Appa, do you want to go?” Jaejoong asked, and Eric sighed. 

“I don’t really need it. I’m happy just being here with you.” Eric confessed, and Namjoon and Seokjin awed. “Besides, why don’t you go? You guys are closer in age than this old fart. I wouldn’t mind watching the kids again.”

Seokjin shook his head. 

“I asked you because Jaejoong told me that you never been on vacation before. Always working, Hyesung was always at home.”

“So you’re saying this is a pity vacation?” 

Seokjin rolled his eyes while Namjoon bursted out laughing.

“Is he always like this?” Seokjin asked Jaejoong, and he nodded.

“Always.”

“Yah, Eric. You were already going to be my first choice.” Seokjin smacked him on the shoulder. “I’ve grown to like you.”

Eric’s face scrunched up.

“You will rue the day those words came out of your mouth.” Eric whispered, and Seokjin only blew him a kiss before walking away, Namjoon trailing behind him
