Trouble
My Jerky Neighbor“Come on,” Daehyun begged, hoisting my arm around his shoulder again. “We’re almost home.”
I tried to fight against Daehyun, but in the end just let him lead me through the numerous foreboding ally ways. It’s not like I had enough strength to walk on my own, let alone talk. My head throbbed like crazy, occasional pulses punching angrily into my skull. With my arm dangling around Daehyun’s neck, my other limp at my shoulder, I felt so helpless. If I had known that this was how my night would end up, I would have never taken that drink.
“You reek of alcohol. How much did you have anyways?” Daehyun asked.
“I dunno,” I sputtered out, my words a slurred mess. “Himchan… gave me it.”
Daehyun slowed, and he didn’t say anything for the longest time. However, when he finally did speak, his voice sounded distant; faraway. “Why would Himchan...?”
I wanted to tell Daehyun that it was because Himchan absolutely hated me. Even though I had never done a thing to him, he had it out for me. He was the reason I was like this right now; all drunk and falling all over the place.
Feeling my anger and disgust towards Himchan that I had bottled up inside of me begin to surface, I was somewhat thankful that my motor skills were lacking. I guarantee that, if I could walk and talk, I would be heading right back to the party to give Himchan a piece of my mind.
Rounding a corner, our apartment complex in sight, Daehyun sighed. “Thank goodness. We’re finally here.”
We were only able to take a few more steps before Daehyun grinded to a halt, his breath catching in his throat.
Ahead of us, illuminated by a nearby street-light, a group of no more than ten guys huddled. A gang. Their figures were shadowed, many of them hunched over so their faces couldn’t be made out. However, the few faces that could be seen were scarred, jagged, and cruel. I could see their eyes, and I knew that we were in trouble when I locked gazes with one of them.
