Second Chances
JiSeung StoriesThe journal was used to record everything, the friends made, all the heartbreaks, all the events. It was originally meant to hold the joyful memories, the memories that can be believed as a remedy to get through a tough day yet as time went by everything shifted. The smiling sun through the window every morning started to shift to the ugly grey sky. Even if the sun was out and shining brightly, the girl deemed it as inappropriate for society. Society didn't deserve the bright little sun that was bringing in vitamin D. The world that was once viewed as a pleasant panorama was beginning to fade and as Jiyeon started to realise that life revolved around greed and money it was hard for her to be true to herself.
Jiyeon felt like life was a routine, a routine that could not be broken similar to that of a circuit made of dominoes. Once it is knocked over everything starts to fall apart. She made every big task into a small task, and eventually she was able just simply able to go through everything without feeling very much. Her friendships broke one by one and eventually she enjoyed the task of being alone, the task of independent.
"Maybe today the sun shining will lead to hope and joy," Jiyeon whispered to herself as she stared out the window. "Maybe just maybe it isn't too bad to have hope."
"Jiyeon, come down for breakfast," her mother peeped through the door. "The bus will be coming soon."
"I'm coming, I just need to make sure I have everything packed and ready to go for school." Jiyeon muffled as she shoved her school necessities into her bag.

By the time she managed to get onto the first floor of her house, the bus was already there. Her mother was no longer surprised with Jiyeon taking her time to get ready, she was tired of the arguments that erupted each time she told her daughter to be "normal." Jiyeon quickly bid her mother goodbye and left for the bus, however something wasn't quite right today. Jiyeon, with a gut feeling that something was wrong or forgotten but she simply couldn't pick it up. She was going to be late if she dawdled over her though. Little did she know that the hydrangeas in her garden were changing colour, changing from a baby blue to baby pink.
As Jiyeon approached school campus, there was a strange student walking right beside her. The close proximity made her cautious and scared. No one had ever approached her, especially after her anger outburst when she was provoked two years ago. It was all because of a simply lousy joke when young students believed it was appropriate to take another's belonging and claim it was theirs. It was a picture, a fond picture for her and a meaningless picture for the world. The picture that held the memories she could not remember, yet it brought pain to her every time she glanced at it. It was a time at the aquarium, when the whole family was together, herself, her mother, her father, her brother. Why was it so special to her and meaningless to the world? No one knew what her dad was like, no one knew her parents were divorced. Everyone lived their independent lives the moment her parent had spilt. No one was there to hold the family together anymore. No one was able to protect her from the world around her. She eventually lost everyone around at school as well, she become distant and broken. She wasn't the same sunshine girl that everyone knew. She was no lon
