Sorry...
When Love Comes Crashing... Literally!
Not even taking the time to put on some shoes or change my outfit I run downstairs and out the back door. But now that I'm actually out here I'm not sure what I'm going to do! Pacing around the base of the tree I think of what I should tell them. 'Oh sorry about that I forgot about you, please forgive me?' No! That wouldn't work they would only get mad and if I try and make an excuse they might even get angrier with me and destroy the planet! Maybe that's a bit exaggerated... but still. I bang my head against the ladder, racking my brain trying to find the answer... Aha! I cheer mentally in my head, I think I know what to say. Glancing nervously up at the ladder I try to peer in through the opening of the treehouse and see if any of them are awake. Seeing no sudden movements I take a deep gulp of air and start to climb. As my hand gets to the top bar of the ladder I feel someone grab it and pull. Squeaking at the sudden force I find myself on top of Yongguk straddling his waist. My eyes widen at the awkward position, looking around I see no one else was awake, Thank God! and I try to get up. Yongguk pins me to himself and whispers in my ear threateningly,
"Where were you last night!" I fidget a little in his tight hold before he detaches himself from me. Scooting about a foot away I give him my answer,
"Um... Well you see, the funny thing about that is... Well, the truth is." I pause and Yongguk leans forward in anticipation. "The truth is..." The pressure from being stared at made me forget what I was going to tell them, and like the stupid girl I am I say, "I forgot..." It takes Yongguk a moment to realize what I just said and he blinks a couple of times.
"You forgot! How could you forget us? I have these strange bumps on my arms... I MIGHT DIE!" Yongguk erupts. Everyone stirs a bit at Yongguks voice and wake up, watching the scene on fold.
I grab Yongguks arm roughly, "Hey, what are you-" I cut him off,
"I'm checking to see what these so called life threatening bumps are..." I pull up the sleeve of his shirt and sure enough there were bumps. I scoff at the big baby and say, "You're going to die? These are just bug bites... You'll be fine!" Covering his arm with his sleeves once more I turn to the others and bow. "Sorry guys, I left you out here all night long." I say begrudgingly, since I hate apologizing. Jongup helps me up from the ground and dusts my legs off,
"It's okay So-Yun! You tried your best to protect us right?" He asks hopefully. I laugh at him and tousle his hair,
"Course I did Guppie!" He looks at me confused.
"Guppie?" I nod my head and then laugh remembering they weren't used to nicknames,
"Um... Never mind. We'll save that for another day." They all look at me dumbfounded. "So..." I start, "Let's go!" I say starting my climb back down. Jongup, Daehyun, Youngjae, Zelo and Himchan follow me down happily, while the big crybaby just looked down at us angrily.
"Come on Hyung!" Youngjae calls up at him. Sighing Yongguk jumps down to the ground, stumbling a little might I add! I bring them in through the back door and let them make themselves comfortable in my living room. Walking to the middle of them all I take a seat and clear my throat,
"So are... Are you guys sure you're not mad at me?" I ask, eyes downcast a bit. There is a slight pause and feeling uncomfortable I look up at their faces looking for an answer. Zelo, Himchan and Jongup are staring back at me smiling, Daehyun and Youngjae looked conflicted, and straight up, right away I could tell that Yongguk was angry... I guess I already knew that though...
"Well we did stay awake wondering if you were coming for us... So we're a little disappointed when you didn't." Daehyun says with Youngjae nodding his head in agreement. Yongguk laughs mumbling under his breath,
"... A little?" I glare at him and look back at the others.
"So anyways... Maybe I can do something for you guys. Since todays my day off and I feel bad for earlier." I say. There eyes all widen in excitement even Yongguks.
"Really!? You'll do that?" Zelo asks jumping up and over to my side. Standing up I brush a stray strand of hair over my shoulder and nod,
"Hey, it's the least I can do!" Zelo grabs my shoulders tightly and with a bright smile says,
"You're amazing!" I laugh and flash him my peace sign,
"Of course I am!" I say.
"So about your offer... Can you show us where our ship is?" Youngjae asks. I jump, turning on him,
"Your ship! Oh my gosh I forgot about that! Yeah we can go see it... is that all?" I ask. Youngjae looks around at the others who just stand there seemingly having nothing else to say.
"Yes that is all." He says adverting his attention back at me.
Coming back down stairs I throw some of my dad's newer clothes and tell them to change... They looked at me beyond confused,
"But So-Yun! We're already wearing clothes! Why do we have to change them again!?" Himchan asks whining. I cluck my tongue at him,
"Well the clothes you're wearing right now are weird for boys your age... These aren't that much better but... At least they're clean! You know what!? When I get my next paycheck we can go shopping!" They just stare at me not even bothering to ask what shopping was and grab the stack of clothes. One by one they all start to strip in front of me, some taking off their pants and others their shirts. My face goes bright red and I turn my back to them yelling, "Yah! Go into a room if you're going to change! Girls and boys don't just change with each other!" Grabbing their clothes I hear moans of protest as they shuffle into a room to get change. Sighing I plop myself on the couch thinking, 'How much longer is this going to last!?' Flipping through my phone while I wait I hear the knob of a door clicking and look up. What I was expecting, a group of boys who were trying to wear their pants as shirts. But instead I got a reality check, they all managed to dress themselves alone and properly... And no matter how hard I didn't want to admit it... They looked pretty good! Okay kind of hot actually. I blush turning my gaze away when Youngjae catches my eye. He smirks coming over to my side and taps my shoulder, slowly I turn my head to look up at him.
"Let's go So- Yun." He says bending down to whisper in my ear. I shiver and still blushing stand up.
"Ehe... Yeah okay everyone follow me! And try not to make a scene out of every little thing okay? Remember, you're 'humans' now." I say walking to the door. The all nod to show that they understood and follow me out to my front porch. Leaving them standing in the front yard I go back to lock my front door. Turning back to them I try not to laugh. All of them but Himchan were looking around at every little thing especially Zelo and Youngjae... They seemed to be enjoying it the most. "Is it really that different from the backyard?" I ask.
"Yeah! Your backyard is small and we were in a box the whole time! We didn't get a chance to explore!" Zelo calls excitedly while plucking a dandelion out of the ground. "... Hey Youngjae Hyung do you think this is edible?" Youngjae studies the flower before taking it in his own hand,
"It looks harmless enough." He says before plopping the little flower into his mouth. I couldn't help it and I burst out laughing as he spits it out, wiping his tongue with his shirt. "Definitely not edible don't try it!" He says smacking another dandelion out of Zelos hand. Zelo looks at Youngjae concerned as does everyone else, but I just stood their laughing.
"Don't just stand there woman! Youngjae could be poisoned!" Yongguk yells into my face spitting bits of saliva out of his mouth. Wiping the spit off of my face I let him pull me over to gagging Youngjae. Youngjae latches onto my arm and in a barely audible whisper he asks,
"Can you save me?" His face looked so scared that I couldn't even bring myself to laugh. I give him a reassuring nod and go back to my front door,
"I'll be right back!" I call over my shoulder as I step back into my house. Going into the kitchen I open up the fridge and take out a coca cola. Cupping it I laugh again thinking about how he had just eaten a flower! Going back to the front and locking my door once again I hold the can put to Youngjae. Of course I had already opened it though, since I don't expect him to know how to. Looking at the can cautiously Youngjae asks,
"Is that the antidote?" I can't help but raise an eyebrow at the question but I answer anyways.
"Yeah sure whatever it's the antidote... But it's actually called coca cola." Incoherently I can hear him mumble the word coca cola under his breath as if he was trying to mesmerize it. Looking up he snatches the can from my hand and takes long and greedy gulps at it.
"Is it working?" Zelo asks impatiently. Pulling the can from his lips, coke drizzling down his chin, Youngjae nods his head amazed.
"It really works! My mouth tastes refreshed already!" He cheers. Then he turns a gives me one of those 'how can I ever repay you look'. Before he could even start giving a thank you speech I hold up a hand and say,
"Come on, follow me." Walking ahead of them they start to follow my lead. It would have been faster to just have ridden bikes, but they didn't know how to and I only had one... So, that meant our only choice was to walk. It's not that I mind to much, the weather was pretty good! As we walk farther a long the road I start to point out things to them, "And over there is a Robin! When they lay eggs the eggs come out blue! They are really pretty if you ever get a chance to see them... Just remember not to touch them though."
"That's different on our planet... Mothers give live birth. Is everything hatched here?" Daehyun asks curiously observing the little Robin that was hopping branch to branch. Shaking my head 'no' I say,
"Humans aren't hatched they are given birth to... Like what your planet does... it's the same here." They all seemed surprised by that since the looks on their faces we're weird. "What? Is it weird for us to be so like you?"
"No... it's just kind of interesting." Yongguk says, "When is your mating season on this planet?" I look at him stone shocked and don't know what to say. I mean... There isn't a mating season for humans, so what do I tell him? 'Mating season is any day you want it to be!' No, then they might get the wrong idea.
"Actually there's not really a specific date on when we 'mate' but usually you have to really love a person and that can take a VERY long time!" I try to explain. Jongup laughs,
"Hey this thing called love it kind of sounds like what we call when two matoki's are together for a long time, right Himchan Hyung?" Himchan looks at Jongup thoughtfully.
"You're right, it does seem to be the same as that!" Jongup smiles proudly when Himchan agreed with him and I thought it was adorable. Looking around at the woods I finally see something that I can remember! There on the road right next to the grass was a tire mark from my bike.
"Okay guys I think we're getting clo-" I start to say but get stopped short by all of them rushing past me. I stare at them blinking and as they continue getting farther away I start running after them, "Hey! Wait for me!" Himchan stops and turns around grabbing my hand.
"Come on! We picked up on the ships whereabouts with our homing device!" He says excitedly. I run with him squinting my eyes in confusion.
"Homing device? Why didn't you just use that earlier?" I ask, running faster trying to keep up with his pace. Effortlessly he looks back over at me and just smiles,
"Well... only now did we pick up the ships signal. It's really weak so the ship is probably very damaged." He says casually like it was almost an everyday experience. Which makes me begin to wonder... How many other planets have they visited before mine! I mean this is a scientific break through! Not only are aliens real but apparently there were varies other planets with similar habitats to our own! I stare up at Himchan's face in childish awe and not noticing he stopped I run into his back.
"Oof! Oops, sorry about that. Wasn't watching where I was going!" Himchan steadies me out and turns to Yongguk. "What where's the ship? Why did every stop?" I ask confused.
"Himchan, deactivate the invisible shield! Youngjae! Once the shield is deactivated I want you to take Jongup and inspect the damage!" The three stand at attention and salute Yongguk.
"Sir, yes, sir!" They all chorus in a unison. Zelo and Daehyun walk over to my side. Watching the spectacle that was going on around me. I see a spacecraft appear from almost no where looking the same as it did on that rainy night. Gasping in shock I turn to Daehyun,
"How does it do that!?" I ask. Daehyun looks at me smirking almost giving off a superior air and answers.
"It's an automatic feature on the aircraft. It does that so only we know where our spacecraft is. Easy to hide and safe to ride... We'll except this one time." He says unconsciously rhyming which makes me laugh. Turning to look at Zelo I ask,
"How come you two don't have to help?" Zelo looks at me almost offended.
"Well Yongguk randomly selects us to help at different times. Usually he picks me but this time he didn't. It's not because we're slackers... or anything." I nod my head slowly.
"Sorry if I offended you... Just asking!" I say holding up my hands defensively. Looking back at the four others who were busy at work I see Yongguk barking orders. Bossy... Who would have ever guessed, I think rolling my eyes a bit. Sweat pooled above his brow and every time he would say something his jaw would tighten ever so slightly. Waving around his arms you could really tell how much muscle the guy had, and even at the slightest movement of his head I would be able to catch a glance at his well defined collarbones. Observing him more my eyes start to trail upwards back to his face and I see him looking back directly into my eyes. I jump a little and blush, had I just been staring at Yongguk!? Seriously! Yongguk! What has gotten into me? Crouching down I try to get rid of the thought. I smack my head a little until Zelo grabs my hand, pleading me to stop. Carefully I look back up towards Yongguks direction and see him busy talking to Youngjae and Jongup. Suddenly he turns back around and walks in my direction. I jump again and grab Daehyun's arm hiding behind him.
"We finished what we came here for. We'll have to visit here often though since we can't bring the spacecraft with us... at least not in the condition it's in. Himchan! Activate the invisibility shield again!" Himchan complies with his orders and obediently does what he's told, the ship.
"So we can go back home right?" I ask wanting to enjoy my day off with some nice relaxing.
"Well..." Jongup begins, I shoot a questioning look in his direction wondering what would come out of the boys mouth. "Me and Daehyun saw something cool last night. And I was wondering if we could go there also!" Daehyun gives me a look close to a pout and well... I couldn't bring myself to resist.
"Fine! Fine! I guess we can go. So where is this interesting place you're talking about? Lead the way!" Jongup and Daehyun turn to each other excitedly and start walking back to the road.
"Oh! I can't wait to see what Hyungs want to show us! Come on!" Zelo says hopping after them. Sighing I step into line with Yongguk, Youngjae, and Himchan, and together we begin to follow the three ahead of us, wondering where we were going exactly.
