Shenanigans
Kyungsoo's fresh out of culinary school and is in search of a job. Wandering around the city, he finally finds work at the Douze Bistro. This restaurant isn't your ordinary restaurant though. It's a highly sophistocated and popular 5-starred restaurant owned by one of the youngest - yet successful - entrepreneurs known in Korea, Kris Wu. However, people - including Kyungsoo - forget to recognize the actual people who make the business thrive, the chefs. Kyungsoo soon finds out just what he gets himself into as he joins the other chefs in their shenanigans.

So here's the fic I've been /DYING/ to write ; u ; It's basically going to go through the life of a chef in a kitchen. From someone who watches Foodnetwork almost everyday, I get the jist of everything, but I did and will continue to do my research to make this story as accurate as possible. I hope that's alright with you guys. Any kitchen/chef terms that will be used in this story will be defined at the end of the chapter they are written in, so no need to worry. You can always ask me for clarifications as well.

As the founder and owner of the successful and striving restaurant, Douze Bistro, Kris Wu has successfully been labeled as 'CEO of the Year' and put his restaurant at Number Five on 'Top 5 Starred Restaurants To Go To.' Although he hasn't reached his 30's, Kris has managed to work his way up in the business world. His office is located in the bistro itself, to keep a close eye on his chefs, and to give orders to his wingman, Kim Joonmyeon. Despite his success with his business, he has never learned how to cook. And he claims he 'will never need to.'

❝ Kim Joonmyeon - Chef de Cuisine ;;
Joonmyeon's in charge of basically everything in the kitchen. Inclinding menu creation, staff management, ordering and purchasing inventory, and plating design. Although he claims to be the head of the kitchen, none of the other chefs listen to him, despite him being the most experience and the eldest. This could probably be because of the other taking advantage of his polite and easy going manners. Thus, every once in a while, he often asks Kris to come in the kitchen to get things back in order.

❝ Lu Han - Sous-Chef de Cuisine ;;
As labeled second in command in the kitchen, Luhan actually has more authority than Joonmyeon in the kitchen. As a Sous, he is responsible forscheduling and substituting when the one of the chefs is off-duty. He may also fill in for another chef if needed. Although he's respondsilbe for inventory, cleaning, organization, and training, he fails to do so, leaving Joonmyeon to do all the work while he carrys out through his day with orders. Despite that, he's a hard worker, but he knows how to have 'fun' in the kitchen.

After finally deciding an occupation he's happy with, Kyungsoo is the new chef at the Douze Bistro. The position of the Chef de Parie requires someone who's very organized as well as someone who's comfortable working in a high-pressure enviorment - two things he qualifies. As someone who must direct the other chefs in preparing, cooking, and presenting, he also enforces high health and hygiene standards as well as dealing with problems that may arise in the kitchen. From this, the others have labeled him 'mom.'

Also referred to as a swing cook, Jongdae fills in as needed on stations in the kitchen; meaning that if all positions in the kitchen are occupied, he's free to do what he wants. During this time, he finds...interesting ways to entertain himself. That ususally means that he'll poke at people's buttons. He'll usually put people against each other just for the fun of it; most of the time, it's someone against Tao. Unlike everyone else, he's the only one without a culinary degree.

Baekhyun, like Kyungsoo, is fresh outta culinary school. As a saucier, he's respondsible for all sautéed items and their sauces. He's the higest stratified position of all the other station chefs (the others mentioned below). Because of his name, many have called him 'bacon,' which was funny at first, but will make him furious; but the others call him that because they know he works faster when ticked off. His position requires him to work with the poissonnier (Chanyeol).

As a boucher, Sehun butchers meats, poultry, and sometimes fish. Although his appearance questions whether he can even lift a t-bone steak, carrying butchering a 20 lb of steak is an easy task for him. He's the youngest of the staff members, but he thinks he's the best out of all of them. But he tries to be humble about it, especially on his 'Chef Sehun' blog that he updates every 2o minutes to brag about what he created or if someone complimented him on his preparations, especially Luhan.

Though it looks like he should be doing Sehun's job, Tao has always had a passion for desserts. He prepares baked goods such pastries, cakes, biscuits, macarons, chocolates, breads, amd other desserts. He specializes in making wedding, cupcake, birthday, and special occasion cakes. When working, he shouldn't be disturbed, as to the possible life risking result that could involve someone's body parts missing. But that's nothing to worry about! He's a big teddy bear.

❝ Park Chanyeol - Fish Chef (Poissonnier) ;;
Like his title says, Chanyeol prepares fish dishes and ofthen does all fish butchering as well as appropriate sauces - but sometimes Sehun or Baekhyun will fulfill those jobs, respectively. Most of the time, his station combines with the saucier, Baekhyun. He's very smiley, but he draws a blank pretty often, like Yixing. He's the energy and encourager of the kitchen that brings the kitchen up to speed. If he isn't happy, everyone's at fault.

❝ Kim Minseok - Roast Chef (Rôtisseur) // Vegetable Chef (Entremetier) ;;
Dealing with two jobs in the kitchen, Minseok prepares roasted and braised meats and their appropriate sauce. He also prepares hot appetizers and often prepares the soups, vegetables, pastas, and starches. Although this occupation keeps him busy enough, he works as a roundsman at another restaurant, S.M.E. Although the pay is better there than compared to the Douze Bistro, he likes the company here. Plus, nobody catches him when he sneaks a bite of the food.

As his title obviously states, Yixing prepares all grilled foods, which sometimes requires his station to rotisseur,
Minseok. Although he can grill meats and vegetables perfectly, he often forgets how long he should leave them on the grill or if it was medium rare, rare, or medium. Or maybe it was well done? But.. who would order well done.. Needless to say, he's the easiest one of the bunch to mess with, which is especially fun for the mischevious Jongdae.

❝ Kim Jongin - Fry Chef (Friturier) // Pantry Chef (Garde Manager) ;;
Jongin prepares all fried items, which may require his position to be conbined with the rotisseur, Minseok. He's also in charge of preparing cold foods including salads, cold appetizers, pâtés, and other charcuterie items. He's also a recently graduated chef just like Kyungsoo, Baekhyun, and Sehun. Similarly to Sehun, he too, has a blog where he inputs entries of his life as a chef. (But most of the posts consist of gossip or secrets he heard circulating throughout the kitchen). Unlike Sehun, Jongin is a highly skilled chef, except he doesn't think so.
