Yoona is in the midst of waking herself up as she feels a soft touch on her lips. She opens her eyes and soons find out that Jonghyun planted a kiss on her. She hastily pulled herself away from him and had her eyes wide open, almost not blinking them. She is almost gasping her breath and can absolutely feel the drum-like beat of her heart. Her legs are shaking in defeat but still, she managed to stand on her feet.

"Jonghyun....." She's undeniably surprised to what she have witnessed of Jonghyun's act. At the same time, he himself is also astonished of what he has done.

"I'm....I'm sorry." He apologized with worries drawn in his face

"Please....just....just leave" She looked away and clenched her teeth

"I'm sorry, Yoona. I didn't mean to."

"We'll talk about this tomorrow."

 She stands up from her seat and goes straight inside her bathroom. She remained her stance in front of the mirror and touched her lips with her trembling fingers. At this very moment, she doesn't know if she should be alright that Jonghyun kissed her or be mad at him for doing it.

She pondered back the exact scene she was at right after she opened her eyes and it somehow brought jitters to her even though it was one of the things she never imagined that Jonghyun would do to her.

For the past few months that they’ve spent most of the time together, she already have a mind-set that every kindness and special treatments she received from Jonghyun were just part of their created scheme and that maybe it was only her playing the role seriously.

But because of that one unexpected kiss, she can’t help but gain a thought that Jonghyun doesn’t only see her as the hopeless romantic woman whom he showed off his hidden good side but a woman who has a special place in his heart.

On the door step of his house, he's still thinking about how Yoona reacted and his face was being drawn with so much worry

"What the heck, Kim Jonghyun? What made up your mind to do that?" He scolded his own self and stomped his foot.

Too many thoughts were mashed up in his mind which made him gain desire to kiss her at that moment. Throughout all those worries and uneven feelings, there were no regrets. Basically, he did that to express his love but unfortunately, that wasn't really the right time to initiate such act unlike how he previously thought before kissing her. He knew by tomorrow, it's going to be either she'll get mad at him or she'll just pass by him like air the whole day.

"Jonghyun, what happened?" His mom have been watching him since he entered the room, talking to his self like a fool

"You really want to know?" He walks to the couch and drops his body onto it. He spreads his arms over the head of the couch and looks very much in defeat right now.

"Of course. Tell me, maybe I can help you?" Mrs. Kim sits on the other couch and lends her ears to hear Jonghyun's story

"I'm gonna jump into conclusions..... I kissed Yoona"

"Really? Congratulations! " Her mom yelped

"What kind of reaction is that? Mom, are you kidding me?"

"You're single, she's single. You love her and you only tried to show a part of your feelings by kissing her. I don't see anything wrong with it" 

"Before she told me to leave, I saw how at rage she was and I can't even picture myself tomorrow once I apologize again. It's like going through the lion's den"

"Lion's den?"

"I was talking about her friend, Sooyoung. There's no way she won't tell them"

"Jonghyun, you kissed her because you love her. She's just experiencing a first-hand shock. Even I, if someone's lips were surprisingly planted on mine, I would react wildly. I'm pretty sure you'd do okay"

"I hope that's the only reason. I was half-expecting she'd somehow kiss back if she has developed feelings for me"

"Don't rush her, Jonghyun. So far, from what I see in her, she's a reserved person. Most likely, she would really react that way. Cheer up, son. You just kissed her. If she gets mad, apologize like a man"

Mrs. Kim patted his shoulders, her body language showing how proud she is towards her son. It is great for her to see Jonghyun becoming a better man as every day passes by. How anxious and frustrated he is right now because he kissed Yoona just shows that he now knows how to care for a woman’s heart

"Thanks, Mom. It's funny that I can always…..depend on you"

Surprsingly, Yoona reached the café 30 minutes later after Sooyoung and Taeyeon arrived. It caught their concerns that Jonghyun isn’t clinging on her today. From the moment she entered through the glass door, they began to immaturely without knowing anything that has happened last night.

“You came here by yourself?” Sooyoung started

“Why? Can’t I?” Yoona attempted to form a smile to cover up her weary because Jonghyun didn’t show up today and she figured out earlier that they would make fun of her again.

“You look…..distracted. Did something happened?” Taeyeon walked closer to her but she immediately made a flee movement away from her.

“No…Nothing. Nothing happened. My stuff is heavy. I’ll just put them inside”  Yoona grinned her teeth and made a small laugh, making things obvious for Sooyoung and Taeyeon. She entered the room, leaving a barefaced impression.

“So something really happened” Sooyoung confirmed and Taeyeon nodded in agreement.

The whole day, Sooyoung and Taeyeon became a bit immersed in observing Yoona’s odd body language. They noticed how pre-occupied and disturbed she is. She was moving from one place to another every 3 minutes, talks to herself by the window glass when the café is half-empty and after talking to herself, she forms a smile.

Despite her weird actions, they can’t assume that a commotion happened between Jonghyun and Yoona. Obviously, if it’s a bad thing, Yoona could’ve just locked herself inside her office and show a grimace in front of them. But setting that aside, Sooyoung and Taeyeon sees how Yoona became affected because of Jonghyun which shows the intimacy level of their relationship and that Jonghyun has gotten so much closer to Yoona’s heart.

It’s already closing time and Jonghyun still hasn’t showed his shadow. Inside her office, Yoona is standing by the window pane and holding onto her phone tightly, still hoping for Jonghyun to at least call her.  Even Taeyeon and Sooyoung are somehow waiting for Jonghyun as well until they heard the swing of the door.

Jonghyun carefully pushed the door open of Yoona's office and instantly found her standing across the window of her office when he peeked his head behind the door. He stepped his feet inside but he left the door open while grabbing the door knob, just in case Yoona wanted to be alone.

"Yoona, may I come in?" He asked

"You're already inside. You should've asked that when you were behind that door" She immaturely responded.

"I'm sorry about last night.....I'm sorry if I...did that. I'm really really sorry if you are mad. If you want to punch me on the face, I'll respectfully accept it. I deserve it for being such a jerk and....."

"So you are telling me you regret what you did?" She finally turned her back to face him and tilted her head.

"I don't have any regrets.....Wait. You are not mad?"  He wrinkled his forehead in confusion.

"I'm mad but I feel more awkward than be angry towards you. I apologize if I yelled at you last night. I got shocked about it" She pursed her lips, almost forming a small smile.

"I understand, don't worry about it. So, are we cool?" He walked on her direction and showed off his charismatic smile that made Yoona's heart flutter.

"Yes. I guess we....."

Without hesitations, Jonghyun gave Yoona a deep embrace inside his arms. He can't contain the small happiness that Yoona made him feel. He is gently his hands on her back like a precious item for him. The very little happiness that Yoona unintentionally gave to him brought a wide smile forming on his face that the corners of his lips are almost reaching to his ears.

"Thank you" He uttered his soft spoken words in her ear. He hesitantly breaks the hug but urgently lands his eyes on the beauty

"Why are you looking at me like that?" She leaned backwards and titled her head. She raised both of her eye brows and looked at him with bewildered stare.

"You’re prettier without those glasses" He complimented her as he gestured his hand.

"You know what, I think…..” Yoona wasn’t able to continue her sentence when Jonghyun’s phone suddenly rang. He apologized for the interruption and answered the phone

“Mom?.....Okay, I’ll be right there” Jonghyun sighed in frustration and placed his phone back in his pocket

“I wanted to take you to dinner tonight but mom needs my help. I’m sorry” He apologized again

“That’s okay. It’s your mom, of course you should prioritize her more. You should go now” Yoona touched her face with her soft hand and warmly smiled.

“Thank you” He touched her hand in his face before he went to the door.

"Don't say anything about what happened" She fiercely warned

"I won't. Bye now" He waved before taking his step out of the room. Right after he left, Yoona's phone buzzed at the table. She grabbed it and saw Minho's name on the screen.

"Choi Minho" She made a loud sigh "Why would he call me at this hour?" It is a recent happening that Minho gave Yoona a call. From the time that he and Yuri got together, they rarely message, call and talk to each other. It's like one of those something-you-don't-see-everyday kind of stuff. Then Yoona suddenly realized how their current individual lives have made such an effect to their friendship, that it felt fresh to receive a morning call from her so called best friend.

"Hello?"

"Yoona...." His voice was unknowingly deeper compared to his normal voice

"What's wrong?"

For the past few months, there were less communications and less contact between the two of them but it is surprisingly a relief how she still know him so well. Just by the sound of his voice, she can tell that something bad occurred despite the possible changes that could've happened to him. The changes she never witnessed of, changes that she can never influence to him.

"Yuri…and I….we’re over"         

p.s i know, it's been months that i haven't updated this. i'm very very sorry. i was caught up with many stuff here in our province so i can't find time to write a lot these past few weeks. i'm really sorry. for this chapter, it showcased yoona and jonghyun's relationship and how sooyoung and taeyeon (the people who always see them together) have seen a deeper thing between the two. but....will minho and yuri's break up bring an effect to jonghyun and yoona's developing relationship? you'll find out more about that on the following chapters. once again, i'm sorry for updating so late :)
