Do you remember that day we met?

I do. Down to the last detail.

Your hair was a lot longer then, and your eyes sparkle was childlike - bright and cheerful. You were new and eager, and everyone just wanted to get to know you. I did too, but I was better at hiding it than the others were. You would dance around, pulling everyone in with your energy and they’d join you while I stood behind. You’d tease me that I was stiff and awkward and I would retort and jokingly say that you were being immature.  And then you’d smile (that beautiful smile) and I can’t help but grin to myself. Your smile was a prize, I kept memorized in my mind all those years ago. Even now when I remember you (think of you, dream of you), I get teased by my friends. And I don’t mind at all.

Don’t you remember? One day you were standing alone inside the practice room. Your hands clasped together and your head was bent down into a prayer. I approached you, slowly and carefully, taking your image in and memorizing every detail – then you looked up and I was lost.
