"Sica," His voice was warm and it made my heart beat stop. Ever since he came into my life, my cold heart had started to melt. He was the reason for my smiles
every single day. He was nice, sweet, funny, childish, innocent and his just perfect. I turned around to face him, startled to see his eyes filled with pain and fear.
"Oppa, are you okay?" I asked, touching his cheeks with both my hands. I heard him sighed and knew that he wasn't okay. "Are you sick?" I asked and touched his forehead. Okay nope, it didn't feel hot at all.
"I'm fine, Jessica."
I froze when I heard him call me Jessica. Usually, he calls me Sica or Princess. He only calls me Jessica when it was important.
"I just have something to say." He sighed again. Thousands of thoughts flashed through my mind in a split second. What was he going to say? What happened? Did I do something wrong? Is he going to propose to me? Or break up with me?
"Ne, what is it oppa?" I tilted my head as I stared into his brown eyes that made my heart skip a beat everytime I look into them. And yes, it did skip a beat when I looked at his eyes. My hands were getting sweaty as I watched him figure out how to say it to me.
"Jessica, my umma... You know she's in China right," Donghae started and I nodded my head. "Her condition is getting weaker. I need to go over as soon as possible." Donghae's umma has got lung cancer and it's already in the 4th stage. There was very little chance that she could live long. Let's say, about half a year?
"Oh well, go over!" I said, "do you need me to go with you?" He shook his head.
"But, I may stay with her till you know..." Donghae mumbled, I could see tears in his eyes.
"Ne..."
"It may take more than half a year, Jessica." Donghae rubbed the back of his neck.
"Why don't I go with you-"
"ANNIYO!"
I flinched when I heard him yell that. It's like he really didn't want me to follow.
"Ah-arasso." I stuttered, tucking my hair behind my ear. I looked away from him and bit my lips. I didn't know what to say next.
"Mianhe," I heard him whisper, pulling me into his arms. I hugged him back tightly, hiding my head into his warm chest.
"It's just that you just settled down with a job and I don't wish to ruin your career." Donghae explained, caressing my hair.
I pulled away, looked into his eyes again and nodded.
"Jessica, I promise, give me a year. I'll be back and we can live our life again."
"I believe you oppa." I said, without thinking. Well, that's because I still didn't know the real reason why he left...
