Chapter o1- Periwinkle Cafe

The smell of fresh brewed coffee, sounds of crushing coffee beans, chattering of people lingers the Sweet Life Café. Sumin, the barista of the shop is running from here to there, making orders and receiving lists of orders from her co-worker Sora. Most of the customers are boys, probably because of the looks of the female baristas and waitress like Sumin and Sora.

“A cup of Chocolate Mocha Latte please.” Another co-worker of Sumin, Hyunseok informed her.  She nodded in reply and worked in the latte. She is gifted in art so she can make different types of designs in latte art. She started off with pouring the white cup with a hot latte and added a whip of cream. She took a toothpick with chocolate syrup and started to draw on the cream. Contended with her work, she passed it to him and served it immediately to table eight.

Sora took a break and let Hyunseok be the one to take the orders while she help Sumin with doing the drinks. Sora wore her gloves and tied her hair into a ponytail, wearing her hairnet afterwards. She took the finished cup and put it in the dishes, walking next to her friend Sumin.

“Yah, White Day is tomorrow. Do you want to celebrate it with me?” She asked, hoping that her friend won’t deny her offer this time.

“Sora, you know me. I never celebrate White Day because of the ‘thing’. I’m really sorry” Sumin sighed as she took the unfinished drink and pour it to the dishes.

“Oh come on Sumin. Go with me tomorrow in Dohyeong oppa’s house for a small party. Please?” Sora tugged on Sumin’s sleeves, begging for her to come. Sumin rubbed her temples and nodded at her, making her friend glee in happiness.  

“I swear you’ll enjoy the party!” Sora smiled and hugged Sumin’s arm. “Okay, sheesh. Let go of me. Our shift will be over soon.” Sumin smiled.
