Since Young Mi was new to this whole parenting thing, it was inevitable that she had missed out quite a number of important items that had to be packed into the baby bag, so she was now sporting an irritable look on her face as she had to sacrifice her lunch hour to take a cab down to the supermarket to get a pacifier to keep the monster baby from drooling all over the office (she had given up on carrying Jaejoon the entire time while she worked on her articles behind her desk because: 1) The drooling, 2) The drool drenched countless of documents on the table, 3) It was hard to type with one hand every 3 or so minutes, 4) He kept screaming in her ears, so she just let him crawl all over the department) and diapers (Gawd, she wanted to slash her wrist and bathe in her own blood for forgetting such an important item).

twitched in annoyance when Jaejoon, who was sitting in the shopping cart, started to reach outwards and with a swipe of his hand, sent piles and piles of boxes falling off from the shelves and onto the floor.

She was almost at boiling point when the supermarket’s retail assistant told her off for not being able to ‘control her own baby’.

“You.” Young Mi kept jabbing a finger at Jaejoon’s chest with a dead serious tone, “Behave before I shove you into the ice cream fridge and leave you in there to freeze to death.”

It didn’t help when Jaejoon simply stared up at her innocently while blinking profusely and on his thumb, shining Young Mi in an even worser light as shoppers who had overheard her threat shook their head disapprovingly at the ‘heartless mother’.

Young Mi had never felt so helpless in her life until now. She was now biting her lower lip to stop it from quivering as tears threatened to spill from her eyes. She couldn’t believe a baby could break her like this.

She let out a surprised gasp when strong yet comforting arms wrapped around her slender waist.

“I’m here now,” Young Mi didn’t have to turn back to know that it was Yunho because his voice was just that distinctive.

She nodded weakly and as soon as Yunho let the arms around her body drop, she turned around and spoke, “How did you know I was here? And when did you get back? I thought it was supposed to be tomorrow?”

“That’s a lot of questions at one go,” Yunho answered, “I knew because I asked Mr. Cho where you were. And yes, I’m supposed to be back tomorrow but how could I possibly leave the poor you alone knowing that it was highly possible that you couldn’t cope with taking care of a baby while still needing to work?”

Young Mi couldn’t help but smile while letting her tears flow freely down her face, “Oh, Yunhoooo, you are such a dear.” And with that, she hugged him tightly.

“Are you done yet? It’s crying.” Yunho broke her from her sweet reverie.

“Oh!” She let go of him sheepishly and wiped her tears with the back of her hands, “Right. I have to get the diapers, so could you please look after that monst- I mean baby?”

Yunho chuckled at her slip up, “Of course. Now go on.”

She beamed up at him before running off and tripped on air. Yunho let out a laugh as she turned back and spluttered, “You d-didn’t see anything!” to which he replied, “I did, and it will forever be etched in my mind.”

She blushed and escaped in pure embarrassment.

When she returned, she pouted cutely with a flushed face when Yunho had an annoying ‘I saw you trip on air’ look in his eyes coupled with a subtle smirk on his face. She dropped a couple of items into the cart and decided to look everywhere else except at Yunho.

After checking out at the cashier, the trio got into Yunho’s car and a still very much embarrassed Young Mi hit her head while getting into the car and she cursed under her breath for making herself look like an even bigger idiot in front of the elder.

This time, Yunho decided to be ‘kinder’ and got into the driver’s seat after strapping Jaejoon into the baby seat (he had hijacked Jaejoong’s car earlier because he is after all, a ninja) and pretended not to know of Young Mi’s little accident with her head.

“Sumire will be back tonight,” Yunho broke the awkward silence in the car, “Would you like to pick her up at the airport with me later?”

Young Mi managed a small smile, “I would love to.”

“Are you really going to be alright?” Yunho asked and Young Mi gave him a confused look so he continued, “Your head.”

“Oh…” she wanted to dig a hole and stuff her head into it like an ostrich, “It doesn’t hurt anymore.”

Yunho just nodded wordlessly.

“Erm…thanks for asking.” Young Mi’s heart swelled up a little because Yunho had just shown concern over her wellbeing.

Yunho just hummed in response.

“So, how was New York?” Young Mi asked with a tiny voice.

“I didn't sleep at all because of the jet lag and the time difference made it even more difficult.” Yunho replied as he pulled the car into reverse as he parked it expertly in his own designated lot in Blitz building’s carpark, “And someone made me lose all hope of even being able to take a nap when someone began texting me.”

Young Mi blushed and apologised meekly, “Sorry.”

“I was just disturbing you.” Yunho chuckled, “Don’t need to get all flustered.”

She pouted angrily at him.

Yunho shuddered and got out of the car and the younger followed suit as she proceeded to the trunk of the car to get the purchases from the supermarket out. Yunho carried a peacefully sleeping baby in his arms and they both made their way towards the lift lobby after the elder had locked his car.

“I’m hungryyyyy,” Young Mi whined.

“Let’s go to the cafeteria then.” Yunho suggested and Young Mi nodded vehemently.

When the trio entered the place, the employees started whispering amongst themselves and Young Mi had to hide behind Yunho because of all the uncomfortable stares directed towards them.

“Isn’t lunch time already over?” Yoochun appeared and purposely stated this out loud, “Are you going to start docking paycheques, Yunho?”

That sent everyone else in the cafeteria rushing to finish up whatever they had left on their plates or of their conversations and escaped as fast as they possible could.

“Thanks, Mr. Park.” Young Mi gave the Creative Director a grateful smile.

“Yoochun will do,” he smiled back at her before his attention was on Yunho, “My, my, what do we have here?”

“Jaejoon.” Yunho replied flatly and handed the baby over to a now-gaping Yoochun.

“What am I supposed to do with him?” Yoochun successfully retrieved the baby and was now standing awkwardly with it in his arms.

“Simple, just hold onto him until we’re done with lunch,” Yunho had a crooked smile on his face while he gestured for Young Mi to sit so he could go get something for her to eat.

“Whatttttttttttt!?” Yoochun sulked, “But I have loads of work to be done…”

“This is an order.” Yunho stated with finality and Yoochun hung his head low and resigned to his fate.

Young Mi watched in mirth when Jaejoon woke up in the arms of a stranger and started to cry.

“Yunho…” Yoochun started uncertainly, “How do I stop the crying?”

“I don’t know either,” Yunho gave his Creative Director a shrug and Young Mi had to cover to stifle her laughter. He then placed a tray with a variety of food in front of her and stated, “I hope there’s something you like from here.”

“Are you just going to keep buying everything and hope that I somehow like something?” Young Mi asked with a giggle.

“Yeah.”

“You are sooooo spoiling me rotten.” Young Mi blushed.

Yoochun, whose eyes were darting back and forth the couple, now had an even more confused look on his face, “Am I missing something out here?”

Yunho looked back at him and shrugged.

“Are you two…are you…” Yoochun struggled to come up with the appropriate words.

“Hmm?” Young Mi was now looking at Yoochun as well.

“Are you two…together?” Yoochun squeezed his eyes shut to brace for impact because Yunho was probably going to give him the deadliest glare he would ever receive in his entire lifetime.

“Yes, we are.” Yunho answered nonchalantly and Yoochun slightly stumbled backwards at the shocking revelation, “Jaejoong didn’t tell you?”

“He threw me away like a used toy the day he got married to 4.” Yoochun faked a sob and Jaejoon stared to giggle, “Oh, you like me when I’m pitiful?”

Jaejoon started to clap his hands.

“You’re just like your Daddy- a sadistic and psychotic .” Yoochun muttered with a sulk on his face.

Jaejoon pouted.

“Oh? You can understand me?” Yoochun grinned, “Help avenge Uncle Chunnie okay?”

Jaejoon giggled.

Yunho was surprised the next day when Jaejoong called him to nag complain about Jaejoon spilling paint all over his precious Louis Vuitton bag collection.

He was even more surprised when he saw Kimchi back at work 2 days later and when he asked her if they had hired a babysitter, she replied, “Yoochun volunteered to take care of Jaejoon during work hours. Strange, isn’t it?”

Yunho shrugged and pretended not to know anything.

“Erm, Yunho?” He looked up at Young Mi, who was standing in front of his desk while she bit on her lower lip nervously, and he gestured for her to go on, “Kyuhyun wants tell me something so we’re going out tonight- erm, it’s not a date though! Is that okay with you? It’s just a very, very normal outing-”

“Go ahead.” Yunho had an amused look on his face.

“You’re okay with it? Really?” Young Mi heaved a sigh of relief.

Yunho nodded and his eyes were now back on his computer screen.

When Yunho was about to knock off from work at an ungawdly hour (2am), he received a call from Young Mi.

He raised a brow and answered the phone, “What happened?” He could hear nothing but her heartbreaking cries and he couldn’t help but feel worried, “I’ll come get you, where are you now?

She somehow managed to mumble her location in between sobs and Yunho told her not to go anywhere as he drove quickly to where she was, not caring that it would earn him quite a few tickets for speeding. 

When he got out of the car, he saw her back facing him as she idly watched the waves crash onto the beach. 

“What did he say?” Yunho sat beside Young Mi on the sand as he gazed at the vast and dark waters before them.

Young Mi rested her head on his shoulder and took in deep breaths before replying, “I forgave him for being the weakling he was. But when he reappeared in my life…I just…I don’t know why but I just treated him like trash. I guess I was just uncomfortable with him being around once more. When we broke up, I couldn’t help but curse and hate him…”

“That’s completely understandable,” Yunho voiced out, “He broke you after all, didn’t he?”

Young Mi nodded, “I came here after he broke up with me. It was here that I screamed my lungs out about him being a useless bastard, that he should just drop dead and die… Oh Gawd, I’m horrible… Now it’s all going to come true.”

Yunho reached over to squeeze her arm in an attempt to comfort her, “It’s just a coincidence.”

“You sound like you know what he told me just now…” Young Mi muttered as she snuggled closer to him.

“I had a rough idea whenever he took off days to go to the hospital. Why would healthy young man like him go to such a place that often unless he’s ill?”

And at that word, Young Mi started to cry again.

“I take it that it’s terminal then.” Yunho gave a sad sigh when he felt her nod against his shoulder.

Young Mi straightened back up and moved so she was now kneeling before the elder.

“What are you doing?” Yunho was completely caught off guard.

Young Mi looked desperately into his eyes as she took his hands in hers, “Don’t leave me as well…I don’t think I c-can survive another h-heartbreak.”

Yunho’s heart fell, “I can’t promise that, I’m sorry.”

“I’ll try not to annoy you anymore, I’ll not call you Daddy anymore, I’ll-”

“Stop,” Yunho closed his eyes, “You’re fine the way you are. It’s me that needs to change.”

“But you’ve improved so much from before…” Young Mi had a small smile on her face and Yunho was relieved that she was no longer crying.

“You…look beautiful under the moonlight,” and Yunho wasn’t lying or trying to lighten the atmosphere.

Young Mi blushed and looked down, “I don’t…”

“You do,” Yunho gave her a chaste kiss on her lips and she blushed even harder, “But you look best when you smile, so don’t cry anymore.”

She was now hiding her terribly flushed up face in her hands and Yunho wondered why he wasn't doing that too after kissing her so blatantly earlier.

“You’re j-just trying to make me feel better right?” Young Mi stuttered.

“Partly, but I meant every word I said.” Yunho also didn’t know why he wasn’t feeling the least bit self conscious while saying bold words like that.

Young Mi managed to muster enough courage to look into his eyes, “Will you be irked out if I said I like you a lot?”

Yunho pondered on it for a while and shook his head.

“I like you a lot. A whole lottttttttt.” Young Mi gave him a shy smile.

“I hope I can say the same to you one day.” Yunho answered.

“I’ll be waiting then.” Young Mi was grinning now, "Thank you, Yunho, I feel so much better now."

"You're welcome," Yunho tucked some of her rather messy wind-swept hair behind her ear, "It's really late now. Come on, I'll drive you home."

I was so lazy to write but thinking of you guys (and the possibility of you all cursing me to death for not updating this week) I had to tear myself away from awesome Yunjae fics to write something up.
