Smile
The LetterKai's head was in his knees as he sat on the cold, white sand facing the lake.
His head was pounding.. he was so confused. Everything was just... too much.
A twig cracked behind him, but he didn't look up.
He didn't really care.
Sia looked at him, sadly, from behind.
They always said that EXO's Kai was the womanizer, the flirt, the y one. Strong, masculine, an amazing singer, an amazing dancer.
She wondered how they could see that in him. Ever since she first met him... all she knew was that he was broken.
Undeniably broken.
Like her.

"Guess this has become your place to cry, too?" She whispered, the wind blowing her hair against her face softly.
He said nothing, only sniffled.
She felt her heart break, slightly, seeing him like this.
"Jongin," She said, softly. "It's okay to cry. Nobody's watching."
After a moment, there came a muffled, "You are."
She laughed. "I'm a nobody, though, so it doesn't matter, does it?"
He looked up at her, but she wasn't looking at him. She was staring somewhere into the distance, her eyes cloudy and distant.
I understand. I get it now. He thought. That pain... that unendurable pain when you just want to see black, feel nothing. Not even that numbing pain that I feel so much.
That's why she jumped in the lake.
She just needed to escape.

She parted her lips to speak.. then she knew if she did she would break.
He noticed, then smiled. "Looks like both of us are afraid to cry," He whispered.
She looked at him, her eyes red, her face chalky white, lower lip trembling. "Yeah." She said.
A tear rolled down her face, but she quickly wiped it away. "I'm sorry," She said. "I just miss her a lot."
"It's okay" He said, as a tear fell.
They looked at eachother.
"Misery loves company," She said, smiling softly.
He smiled back.
A real smile...
...For the first time since everything came crumbling down.
A warm feeling spread through him and he looked back out at the water.
