A Rocking Christmas Eve

Aish! That Jung Daehyun!

“Namjoo~” I vaguely heard the cooing voice as I shifted my head lazily, my eyes twitching.

“Namjoo~” the voice grew louder and more impatient. I scrunched my eyebrows together in confusion and irritation. Who dares wake me up?

“YAH YOU LAZY ! WAKE UP!”

“AH!” I shouted in alarm, my eyes flying open immediately. My instincts got the best of me as my head whirled from side to side.

It was a wrong move, because pain slowly crept up my neck area. I groaned in pain.

Okay, I was still in the woods with my enemy converted to friend, a throbbing right foot and now, a stiff neck. I pressed the spot on my neck and winced.

Ugh, I hated getting stiff necks.

“Are you alright? You look a bit stiff,” a voice commented from my left side as I sat up from the ground. I twisted my whole body left to see Jonghwan standing upright, smirking down on me. I glared at him and stood up slowly, trying not to move my upper body that much.

Haha, very funny Hades. Why did you wake me up?” I asked him harshly, glaring more coldly at him. Jonghwan rolled his eyes and went over to me, brushing the bangs that stuck to my face.

“I asked for a question, not you impersonating your hair stylist,” I grumbled, wincing as I felt a cold hand on the sore spot on my neck. Then, the pain started to subside when Jonghwan started massaging the sore spot.

“Oh, there. Harder Jonghwan. Ah! Faster! Right there, oh yeah,” I moaned as Jonghwan’s fingers worked magic. The pain was almost gone when a strangled cry was heard from behind us.

“YAH!” I screamed again, turning around as so did Jonghwan.

And to no one’s surprise, it was the turtle along with Sushi.

Oh, it’s Sulli. My bad.

“You – what – – harder and faster –“ Daehyun stammered, turning red. I immediately knew what he was thinking and blushed.

I decided to take inventory of Daehyun before answering his unspoken question.

He looked normal, except for the few leaves that was on his tousled hair. His eyes were shining fiercely, his mouth set into a scowl. There were a few scratches on his face here and there, but I could fix that up in no time.

He was half-crouched, as if he was ready to attack. And indeed, he looked like he would if I won’t say anything in the next few seconds.

“Daehyun, this is not what it looks like! We weren’t doing anything…inappropriate,”

“You better not be,” he growled, standing up to his full height and glowering at Jonghwan who seemed at ease at the new presence.

“Yeah, we were not doing anything. Besides Daehyun, your girlfriend is a bit tight-“

“YAH! DON’T LAY ANOTHER FINGER ON HER UNLESS YOU WANT IT CUT OFF!” Daehyun screamed angrily as he lunged at the both of us, wrapping a free hand around my waist and grabbing a stray stick on the ground.

He hauled me away from Jonghwan and raised the stick threateningly. I rolled my eyes.

Here we go again.

“Oppa! We have to find the ribbons! We only have three!” Sulli whined from his right side. Daehyun glanced at Sulli and then at me. I raised my eyebrows.

“Just…stop please, it’s driving me crazy,” Daehyun complained, releasing his hold on me. I patted his head and kissed him on the cheek.

“I’ll stop. Just got a stiff neck, no need to worry,” I consoled him, smiling happily.

Did I mention how happy I was?

I didn’t care if he came with Sushi and walked in on me getting a wonderful massage from the ert, Jonghwan.

As long as Daehyun was here, I was happy.

”Did you get all the ribbons already?” Daehyun asked conversationally as Sulli searched high and low for the ribbon, Jonghwan slightly laughing at her behavior.

“Not yet, and if we did, we wouldn’t even present it to L.Joe,” I replied back lightly, kicking a pebble towards Jonghwan who ignored it and went over to Sulli to help her find her ‘ribbons’.

“Why?” Daehyun asked curiously, casually intertwining our hands together.

“Cause, I don’t want to go to America with him. I want to go with you,” I admitted, looking away as Daehyun chuckled.

“Aigoo, my jagiya saying sweet things at this hour,” Daehyun commented, pecking my cheek.

“Jonghwan, what time is it?” I asked him, Jonghwan checking his watch.

“Already seven at night. I guess we should probably go back, they might send a search party for us.” Jonghwan stood up to his full height, tapping the busy Sulli on the shoulder.

She pouted but nodded, dusting off her pants and holding Jonghwan’s arm for support. Jonghwan blushed immediately, his eyes falling to the ground.

“I think we should leave these two alone. Come on,” I pulled Daehyun away as quietly as I could, while Jonghwan was busily staring at Sulli.

We were around twenty feet away from them, slowing our pace.

“Since when did you become a matchmaker?” Daehyun asked teasingly as I shrugged and laughed.

“They look good together,”

“She’d look better with me.” I looked at him skeptically as he rolled his eyes at my skepticism.

“As if I’ll ever leave you,” Daehyun gently said, leaning over and pecking me on the forehead. I smiled contentedly.

I realized it doesn’t take much for Daehyun to bring a smile to my face.

“Hop on my back, your foot must’ve hurt from all the walking,” Daehyun encouraged, stopping momentarily and crouching down. I climbed on his back, and he resumed to walking.

“Are you sure you didn’t do anything inappropriate with him?” Daehyun demanded suddenly as I chuckled.

“I’m not a hundred percent sure I-“

“Jung Namjoo,”

“I’m joking! Sheesh!” I exclaimed, rolling my eyes but smiling at his concern.

Best. Boyfriend. Ever.

~.~

“MERRY CHRISTMAS!”

“EVE!” Jongup added cheerfully, Himchan chuckling at his dongsaeng.

Yes, it wasn’t Christmas yet, but it will be. In four hours. I couldn’t suppress the giddy smile on my face.

We were all lounging in my bedroom, since it was easily the biggest one. BTOB will arrive shortly, around ten o’clock so that we could celebrate it together.

Of course, the turtle was against this idea, but I finally persuaded him.

Oh, so you want to know what happened after we arrived at the campsite after that infernal hiking episode?

Well, we were the first to arrive, so we wandered around the camp without any idols looking at us as if we were weird.

We did some legit things, like climbing on one of the cabin rooftop and yelling “I AM SNSD’S 10TH MEMBER!” and also having a contest on who could eat the most ice cream without having a brain freeze.

Weird stuff like that.

By the way, SNSD’s tenth member is Kim Himchan, just saying.

“I’m bored to death!” Youngjae exclaimed, lying roughly on the wooden but clean floor.

“Then get a girlfriend, kiss her, make babies and name them all Himchan,” Himchan suggested as we all stared at him in a mixture of confusion and amusement.

“What? It sounds like a stable life plan!” Himchan exclaimed at Yongguk who was staring at him as if he was an alien. Yongguk shook his head as if they’ve gone through this hundreds of times.

“We could go get ice cream,” Jongup suggested weakly as Zelo groaned.

Also, Zelo won the ice cream eating challenge. That boy could eat, just give him a spoon.

“Please, no more ice cream hyung. My poor tummy can’t take it,” Zelo whimpered as I patted his hair soothingly.

Then, loud music blared from outside the cabin. It’s as if someone used the world’s loudest speaker and played Psy’s “Oppa Gangnam Style”.

“What the heck?!” Daehyun exclaimed as he looked out my bedroom window, yelping as his eyes focused on the view.

“You guys should see this,” Daehyun mumbled, all of us scrambling to get to the window.

“To hell with this, I’m going outside,” Youngjae said angrily as he dashed out of my bedroom, followed by us. We burst out of the cabin, wildly looking around.

Seems like the other idols took notice of the music, since they were all stepping out of their cabins, yawning and stretching.

Seriously, didn’t anyone think of celebrating Christmas Eve but us?

“Look! Over there!” Zico shouted, all of us looking at the direction he was pointing at.

There, in the middle of the camp, was BIGBANG and 2NE1, singing Psy’s “Oppa Gangnam Style”.

“Let’s all celebrate Christmas Eve together!” G-Dragon shouted on his microphone as the rest of us cheered. Even if we were all already in our pajamas, we ran towards BIGBANG and sang and danced along.

This was not like a concert, though.

Everyone was dancing, everyone was enjoying. The Christmas sprouted white Christmas lights as a huge Christmas tree stood behind the stage BIGBANG and 2NE1 were performing at.

I didn’t see any of the group’s managers around, so I guess BIGBANG and 2NE1 will probably get in trouble later on.

“IDOL CAMP! MAKE SOME NOISE!” T.O.P shouted as we all cheered.

“May we dance?” Daehyun asked from beside me, grinning from ear to ear. I laughed and nodded. We soon broke out into professional dance moves, Jongup and the rest of B.A.P breaking out into the ‘Warrior’ choreography.

But then, things went a little funnier. Instead of professional dancing, we started doing hilarious moves like the chicken dance, the horse dance, and the newly invented “Youngjae Dance” where you pretend to trip and fall.

“This is truly turning out into a rocking Christmas Eve!” I shouted over the loud music, Daehyun still grinning at me.

“It wouldn’t be, if you were not here,” Daehyun replied happily as I smiled like an idiot.

I didn’t care now if the idols were all watching me. All that mattered was that everyone became a family in one night, celebrating one of the happiest time of the year.

Christmas.

Daehyun hugged my waist and leaned down, planting his soft and plump lips against mine.

Fireworks literally went off, as if it was timed perfectly. I pulled away, gasping for air but still grinning at the turtle.

“I love you jagiya,” Daehyun said sweetly, tucking a strand of brown hair behind my ear. I tip toed and pecked him on the nose.

“Right back atcha turtle.”

I have a feeling I’ll enjoy this Christmas.
