Haze
Brightness is Dark (Lunew Drabbles)Jinki was wheezing, panting, gasping for air.
Vivid images flashed before his eyes. His father, the man he had always respected, had been kissing another woman. The woman was not his mother, the woman was not dead. The sight had ripped his heart from his chest and crushed the flesh into fine grains.
Exhausted legs dragged him across the dark streets, trying to escape, anywhere but home. Jinki could do nothing but run, far away from reality.
And that was exactly what he did.
Standing on the edge of the cliff, he saw nothing but haze. Is this what heaven feels like? He thought to himself. Cautiously, he stepped forward and leaned into the haze. Closing his eyes, he let the coldness hug him tight, pulling him towards death, towards the end of all suffering.
But, he thought, will I even go to heaven?
