CHUNJI POV

Byunghun’s words ceased and rivers of tears were now streaming down his slim cheeks. My heart clenched in my chest at the sight. There in front of me was the blonde, his knees close to his chest in a sort of a protecting way. His hair was disheveled from him running his hands through them. His eyes were red and puffy. The walls Byunghun had built were broken. His cold, uncaring façade was gone, and in its place was a frail, fragile front.

“A-after my mom died I wasn’t even allowed at my own umma’s f-funeral! They hated me even more. I h-had no-nobody” he yelled through his tears

His body trembled in his arms as he hugged his own body. A loud sob escaped his lips.

His app, uncle and grandparents are monsters. I thought. After hearing of his appa and relatives my blood boiled. Nobody deserved that torture. Especially not someone as perfect as Byunghun. He continued on with his past with a shaking voice and occasional stutters.

“I-I had to sleep outside in their backyard because they had full c-custody of me after. They treated me like a dog! No. Even worse. I got a job behind their back as a waiter at some café. When I f-finally had enough money I left and moved back to Korea. Two weeks after I arrived back, I received a large amount of money in the mail that was my mom’s. I didn’t know who sent it, but I guess it didn’t m-matter.”

I was completely speechless. I had no response. I sat there in silence as his hiccups filled the room. I inched toward him cautiously as if he was a cat that I was trying not to scare. His eyes widened at me and he scooted himself back and he began shaking his head.

“N-n-no. Y-you pr-probably pity me now.” A fresh flow of tears appeared.

He buried his head in his knees and a saw him shivering. Immediately I grabbed him and pulled him into a hug. His head was resting on my shoulder and his arms on my chest. He completely froze on my lap. I frowned at his reaction and started his back.

“No. I don’t pity you Byunghun, not at all.  You’ve been through so much,” I paused and took a deep breath, “if anything I admire you more then I already have.”

I pulled him out of my embrace and gave him a smile. More tears filled his eyes. He went back into my arms and laid his head at the crook of my neck. His warm irregular breaths tickled my neck. I felt my shoulder slightly dampening from his crying but I didn’t mind. He nuzzled into me closer.

“Ch-chunji…” he cried

I rubbed soothingly circles oh his back.

“ssshhhh. It’s okay. I’m here for you.” I said

I embraced him tighter. His small body fitting perfectly in my arms. I finally understood why Byunghun was so cold to others. His past was…just terrible. How would anyone be able to trust others afterwords? But not anymore. I would help now. To be there for him. His face was hidden from my view but I could hear his silent words.

“Thank you”

After a while, his crying ceases and I felt the blonde’s body go limp. Soft snores were heard and I couldn’t help but chuckle. Byunghun had fallen asleep. As carefully as I could I lifted him in my arms and carried him to his bed. He was so light it was like carrying nothing. His face was so calm now, although the tears caused his eye area to redden. He was so beautiful. I lightly brushed his face with my hand feeling his smooth cheek. I kissed his forehead gently trying not to wake him up.  I laid him on his bed and crouched next to him. While listening to his soft breathing I slowly found myself drifting asleep.

I woke up to a rough shake from my shoulder. I looked up sleepily at the confused looking Byunghun that was looking at me. His expression seemed livelier than yesterday and his eyes weren’t as puffy. I felt immediately ten times happier. I stared at him for a while admiring his face and I could tell Byunghun was getting embarrassed by the blush appearing on his face but I didn’t care. I looked at his hair. It was flipped in all sorts of directions and sticking up. He looked adorable. I couldn’t help but pinch his cheeks.

 “Yah!”

 “Good morning sunshine!” I grinned and pecked his cheek

 His face flushed from my action and his hand reached up to his cheek and he tried rubbing it away. Aish! What a cutie! I couldn’t help but squeal in my head. I looked out the window and saw the morning rays beam inside.

I got up from my position, my legs a bit stiff, and stretched. I looked at Byunghun pouting on his bed. He was seriously going to be the death of me.

I hopped on his bed next to him and rested my head on his lap. I felt him flinch under me.

“W-what are you doing?!” he yelled but didn’t push me off.

“I’m tired!” I whined, “I slept on the floor!”

“It’s morning. It’s time to wake up.” He said as he pulled lightly on my hair.

Gears started spinning in my head. I got up fast and pulled him up along with me.

“What now?” he asked annoyed

Byunghun needed a good time and that’s what I’ll give him.

“Let’s go on a date!”

So I decided to rewrite this chapter cuz I didn’t like the old one.
