Chapter 24:

“Please, Kai. I have to return, if not I will be fired !” Hana pleaded by tucking on his hand, but his grip on her wrist was more than tight.

Kai skidded to a stop and whirled back to face her, he took in a deep breath, buried his dead eyes inside her worrying ones.

“Then quit it ! You don’t have to work at such places !” he yelled in frustration, he had hid all the courages to ask her for over weeks, but now he can’t take it anymore.

Hana was stunned and lost at first. She breathed out, shakily. “I gotta go …” she brushed her hand off his, and turned to go.

“Hana, please …-“

“I NEED MONEY, OKAY !? I CAN’T QUIT THIS JOB !”

She growled, and attracted lot of attention on the street.

Kai had brought her to a crowded street, full with shops and people.

Kai stared at her, wide-eyes because of her sudden yelling. “Because of me, isn’t it ? Because of me that you borrowed money from Doojoon, right ? Because of me that you have to work like there is no tomorrow ? You think I don’t know ? You think I am heartless ?! NO I AM NOT ! I KNEW ALL THESE TIMES !”

“You knew … ?”

Hana blinked in confusion. So he knew ?

Kai sighed, he messed up his hair and looked out in the sky, “I used to be a player, and I sure know a lot of people, includes DooJoon ! He is a damn gangster ! Don’t you know how dangerous can he be ? Didn’t you think about how heartless be could be ?!”

Being seen through by her crush, Hana was mentally broken down, she knew Kai was right, he was more experienced than her in life. “He isn’t dangerous until now though …”

“But he is dangerous to my heart !” Kai shouted, he pumped his fist on his heart, shook her by her arm. "Listen to me, Hana. I can't stand losing you again. I can't stand seeing you going to other man's arms. I love you, I know you know it, and I know you know you love me too ! Why don't you just accept it ? If you can work, I can too.
