Chapter 7.

It was dark. The night looked so emotionless.

The stars and the moon seemed to have disappeared.

You were sitting in a deserted cafe, waiting.

Waiting for that someone that you missed the most.

That someone that was gone from your life.

Well, you thought he was gone.

You looked around in your seat, fiddled with your hair sighing.

You had waited for about fifteen minutes now but he was still nowhere in sight.

You looked at your watch. 

9.01 pm.

Still no sign of him.

"What is this? He asked me to meet him at 8.45 but he's late. Tsk."

You mumbled to yourself as you stirred your half full drink.

Suddenly a shadow covered you.

You looked up and there he was.

"... Oppa."

He was panting as if he was running.

"Mianhae.." He paused, catching his breath.

You stood up and went to his side, taking a hold on his shoulder.

You lead him to the nearest seat.

"... Are you..." 

You hestitated.

".. are you alright.. O-Oppa?"

The words 'Oppa' caught both of you off guard.

It had been so long since you both seen each other.

It's been too long.

Way too long.

You went back to your seat and faced him.

You took a long look at him.

He hasn't changed a bit.

Just that he grew his hair longer and that he has bruises all over.

".. Do you want something to drink?"

He shook his head, mumbled thanks.

You nodded, not knowing what else to say.

Both of you sat in silence. 

You played with your fingers, sighing for the umpteenth time.

"Listen Jae In-ah, they're back."

You froze.

It couldn't be.

".. W-What? Why?"

"... They found out that you're still alive. In fact, they are looking for you."

Your hands started to shake.

Your heart suddenly beat twice as fast.

"....."

"Listen to me Jae In-ah. Please i beg you."

You looked at him, with fear obvious in your eyes.

".. What do i do now, oppa?" 

You took his hands and gripped them tightly.

".. What if ..." You broke in a whisper. 

".. W-What if they find me?"

He gripped your hands back but tightly than yours.

"Trust me.. They won't. I'll lead them away from you. I promise."

He looked at you gentlely.

Your eyes starts to water. 

"Hey hey hey. Don't cry. Come on, let's get out of here. It's not safe."

You nodded and stood up with him with your bag slinging to the side.

You walked out of the cafe, hand in hand.

Your eyes traced at the sight of the way he was gripping your hands.

Flashback

" Weirdo." 

" Freak."

You walked in the school hallway alone, clutching your books tightly into your chest.

You walked towards your locker, trying to hold back your tears.

The school was outcasting you by calling you names.

You opened the door of your locker and your things fell out.

They did it again.

You bent down, taking your things silently until someone stepped on your hand.

You winced in pain and looked up.

The kingkas of the school were standing there, smirking.

L.joe who was the one stepping on your hand, stepped on it harder.

Making you screamed in pain.

Your eyes began to water.

L.Joe bent down in a squating position and lifted your chin.

"Yah freak. Where are your parents now? Oh wait, i forgot. They're DEAD."

You clutched your hands, trying to ease the pain.

You didn't dared to make eye contact with him.

And it seems that L.Joe wasn't satisfied with your behaviour that he slapped you.

"Yah, i'm talking to you, ORPHAN. Pay attention, would you?"

His friends who was standing laughed at you.

Suddenly someone pushed L.Joe away from you. 

He pulled you up, making you stand.

He dusted your skirt and grabbed your hand.

"O-Oppa.."

You could only afford to say that.

He turned and smiled.

"It will be alright. I promise."

He glared at L.Joe.

"If you touched her again, i am going to rip off your head."

With that, he pulled you away from the crowd, saving you once again.

Flashback end.

Both of you arrived at the park. 

It was rather quiet and peaceful. 

You two arrived at a park bench and went to seat on it.

You felt safe. 

Safe whenever you're in your brother's arms.

".. Where were you.. all these years?"

You asked him out of the blue.

He seems surprised by your question.

"Well, everywhere and nowhere. Do you know how worried i was!? You disappeared."

".. Mianhae oppa."

"tsk tsk. Do you know how hard i looked for you?!"

You could only stare hard on the ground, feeling guilty.

".. O-Oppa.. What if.. what if they really find me again? What do i do then?"

You asked him, not wanting to look at him in eye.

You played with your fingers as you tried to hold in your tears.

Your hands were gripped by your brother, rather tightly.

He cupped your cheek and made you face him. 

Your eyes wandered along the traces of his eyes, nose and lips.

"I told you right? I'll keep you safe. I promised, didn't i?"

You sighed and nodded, too tired to fight back.

Your brother pulled you into his arms without saying anything.

You could feel as though he really missed you.

Eventhough both of you weren't actually related.

Both of you fell silent, feeling the warmth of each other's embrace.

But little did both of you know, there was a pair of eyes lurking in the bushes, looking straight at you. 

He took out something that looked like a walkie talkie and brought it near to his mouth.

"We've found her. We've found the machine."

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Alright guys~! So how was this update? Pretty mysterious huh?

Well, i only used L.Joe as the bad guy 'cause he's freaking badass xD

I love him so yeah.

Anyway, i'm sorry if i didn't update my stories in a while, my GCE O levels or another term for National Exams are in 3 weeks time and i'm nervous.

I'll still type out my ideas but it's just that i don't post it :/
