Chapter 3

Kris kept on throwing glances at you, making you quite uncomfortable.

You were slurping those noodles as ladylike as possible since Kris was watching you.

You cleared your throat and looked at him.

"Alright, spill it. What do you want to know about me?"

He seems to be taken aback by your sudden direct question.

".. Why are you covered in bruises? Where did you come from?"

You sighed.

You stood up with your empty bowl and walked towards the sink.

"Well, you see... I come from an average family. Well, not that average in that way. My family was rich. Money wasn't a problem."

You stopped for a while and wiped your hands on a paper towel.

You walked back to your seat.

Your hands reached forward to your cup and you held it.

Tight.

"That is, until my mother died. After my mother died, my dad started to drink and gamble all our wealth away.

He loves her too much, that he passed away, a week after my mother did.

They left me and my brother alone.

We had to find money for ourselves, in order to survive."

Tears began to roll down your cheeks as you recalled those hard times.

"Then, we found out that, my father had a huge debt of $500,000 after he died.

They started looking for us.

My brother left me, without a choice.

He left me, he changed.

Changed everything about him.

His looks, his name so that they couldn't find him.

I don't even know where he is now-"

You were interrupted by Kris who suddenly said,

" You don't have to continue if you don't want to."

You shook your head in protest.

"I should at least tell you the rest. I'll make it short."

He then nodded, allowing you to continue.

"After leaving me, i too changed everything. My surname and my looks. I flew to Seoul and they.. Found me.

I was tortured in every way possible.

Until a few days ago, i managed to escape and just ran wherever my legs took me. And here i am."

Kris nodded.

"Thank you, for saving me back there.

Thank you for not ignoring me even if i was a complete stranger to you.

Thank you."

You walked over to him and hugged him.

His eyes widened at the sudden skinship.

"Y-Your welcome."

he managed to choke out.

You released him and smiled.

A sincere smile.

A smile you didn't use for a long time.

You two cleared the dining table in a flash and you two were wiped out.

You both crashed onto the couch and sighed.

You looked at the clock and gasped.

"2 AM!? That's late. Shouldn't you-" 

You were interrupted by a strange sound.

You turned to Kris and found him, snoring and asleep.

You went to his room and grabbed his warm blanket.

You wrapped that blanket around him and smiled.

"I'm sorry kris-sshi, but i had to lie.

It would be dangerous if you really knew my identity.

I'll tell you someday, when i'm ready. Goodnight,"

You whispered before finding another space on the couch, away from him.

You switched off the lights and closed your eyes.

So the character in the story, that girl seems to be hiding something from Kris. 

What is it? Trouble? Is her identity that secret?

Anyone can guess it?
