The Heart's Choosing

A/N: THERE IS A POLL AT THE END OF THIS CHAPTER! SINCE MY MIND DOESN'T WANT TO DECIDE! >.<

It's been almost a month since the break-up.

I haven't talked to Chunji since that day in the classroom.
Well, more like he won't talk to me.

To add fire to everything, the majority of my classmates see me as an enemy.
There's always something new awaiting me every day at school;
Hate notes in my locker, vandalism on my desk, glue on my chair, nasty rumors;
All because people think I stole JB from Ji Yeon.

I guess that's the power of popularity, right?

As I made my way into my history class, I saw JB hunched over my desk.

"He's cleaning it again..." his friend, Jackson said, walking up to me.
"That's the third time in a row."

I sighed, and made my way to my desk.

"That's enough." I said, standing behind JB.

He jumped at my comment, and turned to me.

"..." He cursed under his breath, breaking eye contact.

I tilted my head.

He slowly looked back up, and rubbed the back of his neck.
"I was trying to finish before you came in..."

I shook my head, and took my seat at my half-vandalized desk.
"You don't have to clean up for me, JB. This isn't your problem."

"Not my problem? This is happening because of me!" He immediately retorted.

"No it's not." I said.
"This is all your ex-girlfriend's fault."

"Exactly." He replied.
"She's doing this because of me."

"Dammit JB," I said, rolling my eyes.
"I'm trying to comfort you, you idiot."

A small smile crept up his face, and he let out a soft chuckle.

"Sorry." He said, playing with his fingers.

I chuckled and ruffled his hair.

"Yah, yah, yah!" He said, pulling away.
"You know how long this took for me to gel up?"

I shook my head, and messed with his hair again.
"You think I care how long it took you to fix your hair~!?"

We continued to mess around for a few minutes, before being interrupted by Ji Yeon.

"Aw, look at you guys flirting in public~" She said, in a sarcastic tone.

I sighed, pulling away from JB.

"Great." I mumbled.

"Hm? What was that?" She annoyingly asked, placing her hand around her ear.

"What the hell do you want?" I scoffed.

She gasped, sounding very fake.
"Soo Jin! I'm just worried!"

I rolled my eyes, and rested my chin on my palms, with my elbow plopped on my desk.

"Go away." I shooed.

She quickly threw her smirk away and intensely glared at me.

"You've got some nerve." She said, leaning in.
"You still haven't learned your lesson?"

"And what lesson is that?" I asked, nonchalantly.

She moved back, trying to hide her irritation behind her smirk.

I mentally laughed, unconsciously smiling.

"You're smiling? You think this is funny??"

She snapped her fingers, bringing her two minions forward.

I looked up at the three, then rolled my eyes, for the mpth time today.

"Class is going to start soon, so I suggest you three hurry and take your seat before the teacher walks in." I said.

"Aw, is little Soo Jin scared?" She teased.

"Of?" I questioned, trying to keep my cool.

She chuckled, and flipped her hair back.

"Of us." She said.

I couldn't help but to burst out in laughter.

"Of you three? Please!" I said in between laughter, which infuriated Ji Yeon.

"I'll have to make you scared then, won't I!?" She said, reaching her arm out to me, until JB stopped her.

"That's enough." He sternly said.

I wiped away the tears that had formed from my laughing.

"Stay out of this, JB!" She yelled, trying to free herself from his grasp.

"I can't, if I'm the reason for this." He replied, keeping his grip on her arm.
"I'm asking you nicely, for the last time, to stop messing with her."

"I can fight my own battles, JB." I said, after pulling myself back together

"What are you guys doing?" Our teacher asked, as he made his way to his desk.

JB let go of Ji Yeon's arm.

"Just talking, ssaem." JB said.

"Okay, well, hurry and take your seats. Class is about to start." Mr. Hong instructed.

Ji Yeon huffed, glaring at me.

"This isn't over." She said, then made her way to her desk, along with her two minions.

I shrugged, preparing my workspace for class.

"Jae Bum-sshi." Mr. Hong called.

"Sir?" JB replied, turning to the teacher.

"Grab an empty desk from the room next door, and move Ms. Soo Jin's to the back of the room." Mr. Hong instructed.

"No, no!" I quickly said.
"I can work with this desk, I don't mind."

"Naeee~!" JB replied, running off to the room next to us.

"Too late, he's already gone to get you another one." My teacher mischievously smiled.

All I could do was lightly chuckled.

"Thank you, ssaem." I said, bowing my head.

He nodded his head, and continued to tidy his desk, and prepare for class.
