It takes a strong heart to love, but it takes an even stronger heart to continue to love after it's been hurt -

“How did I end up here?!”

Sunmi was still in a daze when she heard Seulgi’s scream. She opened her eyes to see a flustered and teary eyed Seulgi sitting next to her on the bed. Sunmi was just as confused as Seulgi was – didn’t Seulgi willingly come with her back to her place?

“You were too tired yesterday and slept over.”

“What did you do to me?!”

“…I didn’t do anything with you princess, you got tired from walking and was a little drunk so I thought bringing you back here was the safest thing to do…”

“You’re lying!”

Seulgi started a barrage of (light) punches and kicks onto Sunmi and Sunmi thought to herself ‘wow, heartbroken women are scary.’ But at the same time it didn’t make sense to her – Seulgi’s alcohol intake last night was not nearly enough for her to get wasted, so why is she acting like she doesn’t remember a thing?

Sunmi explained patiently for a whole hour of last night’s events and was eventually able to placate Seulgi, who looked a little guilty upon realizing that she might’ve mistakenly blamed Sunmi for nothing. But Seulgi didn’t want to reveal the cause for her sudden loss of memory just yet. Sunmi was innocent throughout the whole ordeal, all she wanted to do was snooze a little longer before going to work, but now that plan has been spoiled.

“Stop looking at me like that, if you feel bad for misunderstanding me, then buy me breakfast.”

“…alright.”

It was only after they’ve had breakfast that they realized that their cars were still left at the bar. Seulgi declined Sunmi’s offer to go with her and took a cab by herself.

Sunmi went to the one place where she could get some answers from. After calling to take a half day off, she went straight to the hospital. The personnel department couldn’t afford for the company to lose yet another department head, and made Sunmi promise three times that she’ll be able to go back to work in the afternoon.

“What fortune do I have for Chief Lee to be visiting me personally?”

Seungwan was just loafing around in Joohyun’s room when Sunmi barged in and dragged her outside.

“What are you talking about, I visited you just a few days ago.”

“That’s why it’s even weirder for you to show up again, don’t tell me you’ve missed me already.”

“We need to have a long chat.”

“About what?”

“Your ex-girlfriend, my future wife.”

“You scumbag!”

Seungwan has been called that name by just about everyone now. She’s heard it from Joohyun, she’s heard it from Yongsun, and she’s even heard it from Sooyoung. It did not surprise her one bit to hear it from Sunmi as well after she told Sunmi the whole story about the cause of Seulgi’s temporary memory loss condition. Seungwan thought about her situation thoroughly. Currently, she’s being chewed out by Joohyun every single day, and Joohyun has Yongsun to back her up. Seulgi has also been hurt by her, and Sunmi who is enamored with Seulgi would obviously be on Seulgi’s side. Even Sooyoung who is on her side… okay Sooyoung has been neutral at best these days, would sometimes take shots at her too. In Seungwan’s heart, she felt like she’s been abandoned by everyone she knew.

“I admit that I’ve been terrible, but it’s not all my fault! I didn’t know about Seulgi’s accident until recently either…”

“I’m not talking about the accident, I’m talking about you being a and going back and forth between the two. Well, now you end up with neither of them by your side.”

“Don’t count me out just yet!”

“So, are you for real about Joohyun this time?”

“Of course! Do you think I enjoy being constantly grilled every day by staying here?”

“Alright. Just don’t get jealous when me and Seulgi make it official.”

“You’ll have to win her over first, she’s not an easy girl.”

“Oh? Are you speaking from experience?”

“Not me personally. But when we were still in school her number of admirers didn’t decrease at all even after me and her got together.”

“Well of course! Our Seulgi is just so cute no matter how you look at her… wait, what did you just say? It was our Seulgi who chased after you instead?!”

“…yeah…”

Seungwan covered the uninjured side of her ribcage as she answered Sunmi’s question – she couldn’t afford to take another blow to her alr
