[ ENTRY #7 - 09/12/22 (DAY 02) | BUILDING A (FIFTH FLOOR) ]

They say that survival is man's first priority. 

Sabi ng professor ko sa Ethics back when I was still a student here, survival and life preservation is always the first option ng isang tao when they're facing a life or death situation. 

When her body falls down upon the floor with a thud, the cloudy eyes disappear as if it was never there, and she stares through us like she's seeing someone else. 

"Thank you…" she says, and a second later she takes her last breath. 

Rinig ko ang pagkalabog ng baril sa pagbagsak nito sa sahig mula sa kamay ni Kael, and I wonder how Sadie pulled that off. 

"Kill me," she said, like she isn't scared at all. 

Like it's Maddie's voice speaking to her, asking us to kill her like it's no big deal. 

No, alam kong hindi si Maddie iyon—if she was that voice, then she wouldn't have let Sadie walk backwards at hayaan kaming patayin siya ng ganun nalang. 

"Klaire," I hear Aurelia's voice through muffled noises upon my ear, the ringing nonstop as I can't look away from the corpse. "Klaire, you're shaking—"

I wonder then, why did Sadie make it her last? 

"I-I'm okay," I stutter out, at pinanood ko lang ang pag try nilang buhatin si Sadie palabas ng building pero ang lakas bigla ng pagdagundong sa loob, and I know that it's going to fall down upon us. 

", we have to go!" Malakas na sabi ni Jason at hinila na si Piper palayo sa bangkay, habang hinila naman ako ni Jill at Aurelia at paglingon ko, tumitig muna ng ilang sandali si Kael sa bangkay bago nagpasyang tumakbo na din paalis. 

"Tangina, magsisiksikan tayo sa exits kapag ganito! Jason, take Aurelia and Klaire! Jill, Piper, sumama kayo sa akin, sa convenience store tayo magkita!" Malakas na sigaw ni Kael, at tumango na lang kami habang sinundan ko na sila Jason sa kabilang exit, hopefully hindi pa natabunan ng debris or apoy. 

We made it safely out of building a, at hinayaan muna kami ni Jason na maghabol ng hininga bago lumabas dun sa front exit, kasi napansin din namin na walang gaanong tao. 

"Binalikan nila yung katawan ni Sadie," mahinang sabi ni Jason habang naglakad na kami dahan-dahan papunta sa convenience store. "Kaya sinuggest ni Kael na maghiwalay." 

Tumaas ang kilay ko. "What? Hindi ba delikado iyon?" 

"Hindi mo ba narinig yung sinabi ng babaeng iyon kanina? Malamang nagiguilty si Piper sa pag-una niyang mahanap kay Kael, at malamang nagiguilty din si Kael dahil dun. That's why they separated from us." 

"Pero si Jill—" 

"From what I've seen of them habang wala kayo ni Lia, naging close si Jill tsaka si Sadie. Hayaan natin sila, malalakas naman yung mga iyon." sagot ni Jason, at pagkatapos noon ay hinila na ako ni Lia para bumilis pa ang paglakad namin dun sa kalapit na convenience store. 

Mukhang bukas naman yung convenience store at walang masyadong nabawas dahil sa nawipe out ng mabilis ang mga tao sa area na ito. 

"May connecting clothes shop dito. Magpalit muna tayo ng damit ng mabilisan, tapos gawin nating temporary base yung store." Jason says, and I nod as the three of us leave our things in a secure spot sa may cashier area ng store. 

Mukhang naiwan bukas lahat pati electricitycity, so I moved to go to the nearest clothing store that I had seen, checking carefully kung may infected pa sa loob—I then realize na before opening time nagoutbreak kahapon, so there would be little to none of the infected dito.

Pagpasok ko sa loob ng isang clothing store, I grabbed the movement friendly clothes na pwedeng stretchable at madaling gumalaw habang suot, as well as some jackets and blankets and other things we could use para sa base na gagawin namin as well as underwear kahit alam kong hindi kami makakapagpalit ng ganun kadami.

“There’s a shower room for employees sa second floor. I’ll leave a note sa convenience store if ever na dumating sila, so let’s go there para makapagfreshen up tayo kahit papano.” Jason says, and the both of us agree with that habang kumuha na din ako ng towel for my body and my hair—I promise mentally to pay this clothing store with the things na kinuha ko, if ever we can go back here alive.

“Mukhang wala namang tao. Put your weapons nalang in an accessible spot if ever, okay? Ingat kayo.” Jason says, and I nod at that habang pumasok na ako sa loob ng shower room for employees, sighing as I grabbed the toiletries na nakuha k
