“Suho oppa. I thought you’d be back soon?” Eunji asked as she stared out the window. She saw a lot of her father’s men roaming around the mansion and sighed. She knows Mark is not happy about this so she wants to negotiate with her older brother over the phone

“I got caught up with some issues so I had to fly to Taiwan first” Suho answered on the other line “Did something happen?” He asked worriedly

“Well…oppa, Mark is not really fond of your men in our house” She truthfully answered

“You know I’m doing this for you guys”

“Mark insists that I am protected. I guess he really does not want to get involved in dad’s line of business” 

“Eunji-ah…we have not caught their gang yet. We don’t know when they’ll attack. Worst is that they know what we are and what we can do. They’re prepared to fight us” 

“Oppa, truth is, I’m stuck between you and Mark. Can you try to talk about this with him when you come back? For now maybe ask your men to retreat” 

“Eunji…”

“In return I promise, I won’t be driving by myself and surround myself with a  werewolf all the time” Eunji pleadingly asked “Plus I won’t be working in the mall anymore oppa. Our Daegu Hotel project got transferred to me so I’ll most likely be spending much of my time with Jaehyun oppa” 

“Jaehyun?” 

“Right, you haven’t really met our friends. He’s the Vice President of Samsung. We’re doing a collaboration with them for a hotel in Daegu so I will most likely be spending my time with him”

“Are you sure about this? Do you promise you’ll call right away if something happens or when you sense danger? My men will be on standby for you” Suho answered

“I’m sure oppa. Don’t worry…take care and call me when you’re back”  Eunji said before hanging up

Eunji sighed. Last night, before going to bed, Mark came to her room asking her to call Suho about the guards. He appreciates what their older brother is trying to do, but he doesn’t want to be reminded of their father’s line of business. She was about to text Mark about her conversation with Suho when she received a message from Jaehyun

“I’m outside” - Jaehyun Oppa

“Time to go to work I guess” She said before grabbing her things. She looked out the window once again, and saw her father’s guards leaving the place

“Do you want me to turn up the heat?” Jaehyun asked from the driver’s seat. Fall is now starting and the weather is starting to get cold for a regular human. Of course werewolves don’t feel the cold so they have to stay away from crowded places during fall and winter season to avoid being noticed for not wearing a lot on cold days

“I think you being beside me is already making me warm enough oppa” Eunji said

“Hmmm” Jaehyun briefly looked at her before turning his eyes back on the road

“So how did this happen? How did I end up taking up Taeyong oppa’s job?” Eunji asked

“Johnny hyung  is excited though” Jaehyun laughed “He always wanted to work with his girlfriend” 

“But this is good. Because of you I can be free from my father’s men!”

“Oh was the mafia issue resolved?” 

“Not really oppa, but I did tell my older brother that I promise to not drive by myself for now until they resolve their problems. I also promised him that I’ll be surrounded by werewolves from now on so this is good” Eunji answered “Aren’t you worried to be seen with me though? What if it brings you trouble”  Eunji curiously asked him

“We already promised to protect you and Mark for that matter. Also, you’re forgetting something. We are a pack Eunji. You belong in our pack so it’s a given we won’t let anything happen to you” Jaehyun sincerely answered. Eunji just nodded. Somehow she feels like a burden. Especially in her point of view where she feels like she won’t be in their pack for long. What would happen when she finds her mate?

“Hmm should we stop by a cafe first? It’ll take a long time before we get to Daegu” Jaehyun said

“It is a long drive oppa. I can drive too you know” 

“It’s ok. Let’s get coffee and breakfast first” Jaehyun said as he stopped the car at the cafe on the side of the road. The two stepped out of the car with Eunji leading the way to the cafe. Jaehyun took a deep breath. How can he survive a long drive with his mate if her jasmine scent fills the air. 

“Oppa! Hurry! They have cakes too!” She excitedly said from the cafe’s door

“Coming!” Jaehyun smiled at her

“So far we only have the foundation ready. Taeyong hyung is actually in charged of the interior design of the hotel, so I do think this fits your expertise” Jaehyun said as they toured around the construction site. The workers greeted them as they pass by

“I read in the report that we’re going for contemporary design? Seeing our location now though, I feel like I want to go with minimalist. What do you think oppa?” Eunji looked at Jaehyun

“Why do you think minimalist is the good option to go?” 

“I’m guessing when Taeyong oppa visited the place, there weren’t a lot of trees surrounding the area yet? I can understand why contemporary interior would have made this project more unique, but now being surrounded by trees, I’d say let’s offer our clients some tranquility”

“Hmm good idea. Why don’t you make some sketches and let’s present this to the board next week?” Jaehyun proudly told her. This is one of the things that he likes about his mate. When she’s so passionate about her job. Jaehyun paused when his wolf instinct gave him a sign of the incoming bad weather

“We should head back to the car. It seems to rain soon” Jaehyun told Eunji “Mr. Kim, please ask the workers to rest and go home. I feel like a bad weather is coming soon. I wouldn’t want any trouble for them” Jaehyun asked the supervisor

“Oh but sir, it’s still bright and…” The supervisor got interrupted by the sudden dark clouds covering the sun “I’ll go ahead and tell them sir”

“Wow wolves should just work as weather forecasers.  It never mentioned it will rain in Daegu today” Eunji said as she got on the car

“Oh why do you think KBS is the most trustworthy broadcasting network when it comes to weather? Haechan’s family is usually in charge of it” Jaehyun laughed as he entered the car

“He never told me that” Eunji pouted. Remembering the times that her outfit got ruined by the sudden rain

“Let’s just say that Haechan, that fool, enjoys it when you’re feeling miserable” Jaehyun laughed as he recalled Haechan’s memories

“What a best friend that I have” Eunji mumbled

The rain started to get stronger. Jaehyun and Eunji drove away from the site. Jaehyun all of a sudden stop the car on the side of the road.

“Oppa? Do you need help with driving?” Eunji asked

“No it’s just…I actually hear some rumbling. As if a…”Jaehyun got cut off when they both received an emergency text  warning from the government telling them that the tunnel they were going to pass by collapsed

“I guess going back to Seoul is out of the question now?” Eunji turned to Jaehyun

“We can try to check in in one of the hotels in this area” Jaehyun started searching the app for hotels

“It’s funny how we were here to check out our hotel and yet now we’re desperate to find one”  Eunji laughed

Jaehyun looked at his mate and smiled. How can she be so easy going and positive in this desperate situation?

“Ah there’s one about 15 minutes from here. Let’s go there for now”  Jaehyun announced

The drive to the hotel took a bit longer than 15 minutes because of the harsh weather. Jaehyun approached the receptionist and asked for any available rooms

“So you’re telling me that you only have one Queen Room available?” Jaehyun asked

“Unfortunately because of the tunnel incident sir, we only have one vacancy left. Would you like to avail that sir?” The receptionist asked

“How about a double bed?” 

“All is taken sir” The receptionist bowed apologetically

“We need one Queen Room please!” Another customer approached the receptionist

“I’m sorry! I’ll take the Queen Room!” Jaehyun answered. He quickly paid for the room and went back to the car

“Oppa did you manage to book rooms?” Eunji asked 

“Y-yes” Jaehyun nervously asked before heading to the parking lot

“Oh no oppa. You should wash up. You got wet by the rain” Eunji shook her head as she used her sleeves to wipe the water out of Jaehyun’s forehead

This is going to be a long night for the werewolf. He’s never stayed alone in one bedroom with Eunji before. After parking the car, Jaehyun and Eunji headed to the elevator. After getting inside the elevator, Jaehyun made the confession to Eunji.

“Eunji-ah. Truth is…”

“Yes oppa?” Eunji turned to him

“There’s only one bedroom left. It’s a Queen bed. I was debating if we should just leave and look for another hotel, but the receptionist told me that due to the incident, all their rooms are taken except for that one we got. I feared that if we leave now, we may have to sleep on the streets” Jaehyun bit his lower lip, nervous about Eunji’s reaction.

“Are you worried about how I feel about staying in one bedroom with you oppa?” Eunji laughed “I trust you oppa. So no need to worry about how I feel” Eunji gave him a reassuring smile

“Ok..then let’s wash up and eat dinner then? I bet this hotel’s restaurant has good stuff” Jaehyun finally smiled.

“Yes! Let’s go have dinner!” Eunji smiled as she got off the elevator. Jaehyun stole a glance at his mate. How can he last in one bedroom with her?

“You should go wash up first Eunji” Jaehyun said

“But you’re the one who got wet oppa. You should go first”

“Please, I’m a perfect gentleman so allow me to be one now. Go ahead…” Jaehyun pushed her to the bathroom. He sighed when he finally heard her turn the shower on, but his mind suddenly went to a different thought. He is in one bedroom, with one bed, while his mate is showering. He started to breathe in and out to calm himself. Surely, Taeyong and Mark will not be happy when they see this memory if they do turn in to their wolf forms together. He shook his head and tried to distract his mind by looking at his work emails. He also responded to their pack’s group chat informing Taeyong and Mark that him and Eunji are safe. Will he let them know that he’s checked in in one bedroom with their sister? Perhaps not today. After few minutes of finally getting distracted by work, his thoughts got challenged once again when Eunji came out of the bathroom wearing a regular white shirt and jeans. She’s taken out the blazer she was wearing earlier. She was drying her wet hair with her towel as she called on Jaehyun

“Oppa, it’s your turn…” Eunji said

Yes, this will be a long night for the werewolf…
