“Jaehyun oppa. I know you’re following me” Eunji finally slowed down

“Moments ago you were just scared to be alone” Jaehyun caught up with her

“Until Mark acted like a brat and I felt like I wanted to walk out” Eunji said “But you should go eat with them oppa. I’m safe. The moment Suho oppa ended the call earlier, I knew he’d put some of his men to watch us” Eunji smiled at Jaehyun as he pointed at the men in black who’s watching them from afar

“You really think I’d leave you alone after I heard your anxious heart earlier? Come on help this oppa stay sane and hang out with me for the rest of the day?” Jaehyun nudged her

“Don’t you have work? Samsung needs their Vice President”

“Between you and me Vice President is just a title. My father still makes the decision” Jaehyun laughed as he held on her hand. Eunji paused and looked at her hand on his. “This will make me feel at ease. Come on! Let’s go to my place and get you something to eat” The older one said before gesturing for his secretary to bring his car. 

“Oppa…” Eunji called. “You’re cooking right?” She smiled at him

“Of course” Jaehyun smiled before gesturing her to get in the car

“What would you like to eat?” Jaehyun asked as he put on his apron. He’s asked all his staff to leave the house

“Carbonara! I’m craving for something greasy” Eunji laughed

“You should sit in the living room and wait for the food” Jaehyun gave her a cup of tea and urged her to go to the living room

“No. I’ll sit here and watch. Who knows how long I can do this for” Eunji said as she took a sip of her tea

“What do you mean?” Jaehyun looked at her

“I mean, when you find your mate, surely she won’t appreciate my presence anymore. Then there’s also the fact that when I find my mate, I’ll most likely leave the pack” Eunji said as she looked at the man in front of her

“I don’t think you need to worry about that” Jaehyun started taking out the ingredients “Stop overthinking things” He said with a smile

“Well apart from that wolf issues, I also have men after my head so yes I don’t know how long I can sit here, relax, and watch the great Jaehyun oppa cook food for me” Eunji joked

“They can try to hurt you, but you have the pack behind you. They won’t stand a chance” Jaehyun winked at her

“Wow the confidence!” Eunji laughed. She checked on her phone and smiled. Mark had texted her an apology. She knew her twin can’t stay mad at her.

Eunji looked at the man in front of her with admiration. Truly, whoever is his mate, is lucky to have him. She sighed imagining having to leave her pack. Her mom would always tell her being a wolf gives you that peace of mind knowing that destiny has plans for you. In the end, all of what destiny has for you makes sense, but despite that, Eunji is scared. When will she find her mate? How long does she have with her pack? Can she really live without them around her?

“Why are you so deep in thoughts” Jaehyun said as he started to slice the bacon. It frustrates him how his mate, who’s in front of him, still has not shifted. How easy would it be if she’s shifted and he can read her mind. How easy would it be for him to just say it out to her. That he’s in love with her and she does not need to worry about anything. 

“I was just thinking…” Eunji was cut off when Haechan and Mark entered the house. Jaehyun looked at the younger men and knew even without shifting what they were thinking. They’re new to their wolf abilities, so they most likely could not grasp the idea that Eunji is his mate.

“I have come with a peace offering” Mark gave a box of strawberry shortcake to Eunji “Sorry for being a nagger earlier. You know I mean well” Mark tapped her shoulder before sitting on the stool beside her

“And I have come with entertainment! What are we having hyung?” Haechan looked at Jaehyun 

“Didn’t you guys just eat?” Jaehyun smiled knowingly at the two

“Hello? We’re new to this wolf. Hunger gets the best of us all the time” Mark answered

“You guys are weird. I should go and call mom. She sent me a message asking me to call her back” Eunji left the kitchen and headed to the living room

“You guys are too obvious” Jaehyun shook his head as he started to cook the pasta

“Hyung, why don’t you just tell her?” Mark asked

“You know the answer to that already” Jaehyun firmly stated

“Still, I think you shouldn’t delay it anymore hyung. What would you do if another man comes to her life” Haechan commented as he opened a bag of chips lying on the counter

“I’m her mate. That’ll be impossible”

“She’s yet to shift so who knows what’s going through her mind” Haechan commented

“Aren’t you guys too busy to spy on the two of us? Mark, won’t Hyundai be looking for you? Haechan what about KBS? What would happen to our country’s broadcasting stations if one of their directors is slacking off?” Jaehyun complained at the two. Haechan’s family owns one of Korea’s biggest broadcasting stations and other entertainment studios. 

“We still can’t stand the idea of you two being together hyung. Yes I support you, but she’s not shifted yet, so the idea of her being with you is still weird” Haechan dramatically said. 

Jaehyun rolled his eyes on him and turned his attention back to making the pasta. 

“Mark! Mom wants to talk to you” Eunji hollered from the living room

“That was a good carbonara and steak” Haechan commented as he walked ahead of the twins. The three of them stayed until dinner. They walked out of Jaehyun’s home and made their way to their own houses. The pack is lucky to have their houses in the same neighborhood. 

“Poor Jaehyun oppa kept cooking for you two” Eunji shook her head

“He’s probably too happy since you’re there” Mark said

“Ya!” Haechan turned and ran back to them

“Whoever is his mate is so lucky. Sometimes it actually scares me. Until when can I be this close to you guys? I mean someday, when I also find my mate, I most likely have to leave our pack” Eunji sadly said as he put her arm around Haechan “Then how would my bestfriend survive?” 

“You worry too much. Come on! Let’s go home before Suho hyung adds more guards watching us!” Mark said 

“Bye bye Haechanie!” Eunji followed her twin as they entered the house

Haechan sighed and sent a quick text to Jaehyun

“I think you should step up the game hyung. She’s worried about what to do if your mate comes. I can’t lie to my bestfriend anymore” - Haechan

Jaehyun smiled after reading the text from Haechan. He always adored Haechan’s friendship with Eunji. 

“I might just step up like you said maknae” Jaehyun said before calling Taeyong

“Oh thanks for feeding my siblings Jaehyun!” Taeyong said on the other line

“Hyung, I’d do that for her of course”

“So what do I owe this pleasure to talk to you? Are you sure you weren’t going to call my sister?”

“Hyung. You know that project we have for Daegu? The hotel?”

“I feel like I already know what you’ll ask” 

“Can you let Eunji handle it?”

“So she can work with you?” Taeyong laughed on the other line 

“I just want to always be there for her hyung. Keep her safe and slowly also so tell her exactly how I feel” Jaehyun said

“I’ve been waiting for you to step up since I found out you’re her mate. I’ll see what I can do. She probably won’t be too happy though. She was looking forward to working with Jennie, but then again this will make Johnny happy. I’ll make him work with his mate” Taeyong said

“Thank you hyung” Jaehyun said before hanging up

“It’s time I really step up the game” Jaehyun whispered as he looked at his phone’s gallery. In there he’s kept all the photos he’s taken of the group. He stared particularly in one of the photos. The photo he took of you when the pack went to Hawaii. It was  a photo of you staring at the blue ocean ahead of you. "My beautiful mate"
