"I have to admit, this is the first time I'm spending my Saturday doing this."

Joohyun watched as Seulgi slid a grocery cart into place in front of her. She raised her arms in a questioning manner. "And are you going to make me move the cart?" "Yes," Seulgi snapped back at her. "If you're going to keep complaining then you might as well leave me alone, please."

She entered the supermarket, walking briskly, and so Joohyun had no choice but to follow suit, moving the cart along with her. "Geez, I'm not complaining!"

The taller girl glanced at her, adjusting her dark-rimmed glasses. "Good. Just remember that," she said as she brought out her written list of groceries from her tote bag, "When I asked if you'd like to come grocery shopping with me, you replied, and I quote, 'where? what time? what do i wear?' which gave me the idea that you wanted to help me and not just stare from the sidelines."

The smaller girl grinned. " I do want to help, actually! I just thought I would be the one putting the things in the cart." 

Seulgi stared at her. Joohyun raised her eyebrows. "What?" "You sound like a child, Joohyun." "Ah, right, coming from a girl who still uses paper for shopping lists! You should be my mom at this point." "Shhh."

They continued walking in silence as Seulgi scanned the shelves for whatever she was looking for. Joohyun couldn't tell what she was trying to find; Seulgi was always walking a few meters away from her, list in hand.

She felt happy, though; that Seulgi actually asked if she would like to come do grocery shopping with her. Sure, it definitely wasn't the usual, ideal hangout sesh teenagers has, but that's what made it... special, maybe.

But then again, why did Kang Seulgi ask her? Couldn't her best friend from the other section come with her?

Joohyun was about to start overthinking so much that she accidentally bumped Seulgi, who was in front of her the whole time, with the cart. The latter spun and glared at her. "What is wrong with you?" She hissed, and the other people in the aisle gave them glances.

"Oh, geez, sorry," Joohyun mumbled and grinned apologetically at Seulgi. "I was thinking about something."

Seulgi sighed and looked at her list, and then back at Joohyun.

She could sense that Joohyun felt awkward, and she couldn't help but feel guilty that she glared and hissed at her.

Besides, wasn't she the one who asked if Joohyun wanted to tag along, anyways?

"Joohyun," she called out to the other girl, who was fiddling with the strings of her hoodie. "Come over here."

Joohyun walked up to her, hands now in her hoodie pockets. "What's up?" "Let's play a game." Seulgi exhales deeply, waiting for the other girl's reaction.

This was her first attempt at a proper, self-initiated socializing, and while she thought it was a genius idea, she needed Joohyun's reaction to gauge if it really was a good idea.

And then there it was, the mischievous glint in Joohyun's eye, just like when they first met. "A game?" She smiled.

"Yes. We take turns choosing an item from my grocery list to look for and put in the cart, and with that item comes a question that the other has to answer." Seulgi explained. "Questions that are too personal or of the secretive type aren't allowed. Just the 'making friends' type. Deal?" She smiled.

The shine in Joohyun's eyes dimmed a bit. She looked perplexed. "That's not a game. That's an interrogation. A friendly one."

Seulgi couldn't help but laugh at Joohyun's remark. "If you don't want it, you know I can continue shopping on my own." 

Joohyun gasped comically. "That, Miss Kang, is manipulation. Gaslighting, even." "What?" Seulgi laughed again. "No it's not. It's called stating a fact. I can finish this in 30 minutes to make up for the 45 minutes we're in here without anything in the cart." The smaller of the two grinned. "Fine, fine. You go start."

"Alright!" Seulgi clapped her hands, delighted. "I'll choose detergent."

Joohyun wheeled the grocery cart out of their current aisle, with Seulgi along beside her. They had a friendly distance from each other, one that completely spelled out "We're actually getting to know each other right now". 

Remembering what Seungwan told her, Joohyun set all of her other thoughts aside and focused on the present. She was already lucky enough to witness this side of Kang Seulgi, so she didn't want to push her luck any further, for fear that something might go wrong.

"Sorry, by the way," she spoke sheepishly as Seulgi scanned the signboards they were passing by. "For being an moments ago." "What? No, Joohyun, you weren't like that," Seulgi said, a hint of guilt in her voice. "I'm the one who should be saying sorry for getting a bit annoyed at you when you hit me with the cart."

A few minutes passed by again in silence, and they finally found the detergent shelves. "Alright, here's my question," Seulgi started as she grabbed a bag of detergent and placed it into the cart. "What do you usually do on weekends? Since you said this is the first time you're spending a Saturday doing this." She crossed out the word detergent from the list and handed it to Joohyun.
