FRIDAY

My crew and I have arrived in a small archipelago located in the west. This island is called Enas Niata. The first thing I noticed the moment I have set foot in their land was the excellent sighting of blue light from the shore. It is called bioluminescent. It can be found in many organisms, such as phytoplankton and other kinds of fish. It lighted up the coast. I padded. My thoughts were of a child, thinking God would punish me if I accidentally stepped on one. But God does not live in this time. Maybe in the past, he did. I am not sure. When all my men had gotten off the ship, we walked to town as per the itinerary I had made. I braced myself from the breeze brought by the summer night. There were festival flags in every light post and houses I have walked by with a mermaid holding a ship in her hands. It was such a curious picture. But then again, Enas Niata is known for its two weeks celebration of their festival, honoring the mermaids who were said to visit this small land. I do not know much about the origin of this land, but the mermaids were often the talk of the sailors and tourists alike.
