Yet another 'YG Family Exclusive,' was dropped earlier today, although not in the form that audiences might have been expecting.
After a lengthy series of controversies surrounding the 2019 debut of BLACKPINK's brother group, BLACKOUT, and their alleged rivalry with YG's newest group, HaVen, with their 2021 debut, it seems YG's answer to this chaotic whirlwind of turmoil is revealing their new co-ed group?
Supposedly, fans think so. YG has explicitly ignored reporters requests for comments on BLACKOUT and HaVen's feud, accusations of BLACKPINK dating within the company, and specific members of their boy groups long line of growing controversies. Instead, they have seemly swept it under the rug entirely by posting what is titled: 'YG ROOKIES TEASER 1,' a dance video featuring what appears to be a co-ed group in the making.
After the video uploaded to YG Entertainment's official Youtube channel gained over 1000 comments asking YG to confirm the speculation, the company relented by releasing a post on Twitter:
" The rumors are true. After HaVen's 2021 debut, YG Family is in the midst of preparing for a flavorful co-ed group debut. More will be revealed to the public soon. but for now, please enjoy their official first teaser video! "

"flavorful co-ed group debut? What's with the creepy wording??"
"I would never describe a group as flavorful. They aren't food."
"Why do I get the feeling that 'flavorful' has something to do with their concept..."
Netizens were also quick to call out YG Entertainment for using their upcoming co-ed group as a distraction from the negative news circulating national media.
"This is just like what SM did with debuting Red Velvet and then Aespa!! YG isn't addressing any of their groups controversies and instead is trying to direct everyone's attention
