ALL ABOUT US

As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm glow over the small town, Dahyun found herself rushing through the charming streets towards her grandparents' flower shop. The scent of blooming flowers filled the air, creating a delightful atmosphere that embraced her with a sense of familiarity. Dahyun had always loved spending time at the flower shop with her grandma, not only for the vibrant colors and fragrances but for the precious moments they shared.

Bounding through the door, Dahyun greeted her grandparents with infectious enthusiasm. "¡Hola, abuela bonita!" she exclaimed, wrapping her arms around her grandmother with a mischievous twinkle in her eye. Her abuela chuckled, returning the embrace and planting a gentle kiss on Dahyun's cheek.

"¡Mi niña bonita! How was your day?" her grandmother replied, her eyes sparkling with affection.

Dahyun animatedly shared the events of her day, all the while complimenting her grandmother in a mix of Spanish and Korean, creating a playful and heartwarming atmosphere. Her abuela blushed, clearly pleased with her granddaughter's words.

"How your university life?" her grandmother asked with much of curiousity looking at Dahyun.

"Unexpectedly, it's good, but it's hard to quickly write my essays," Dahyun confessed, smiling as she folded some petals with a practiced motion. Her mind drifted momentarily to thoughts of Sana, expecting a message from her friend.

Her grandma chuckled, patting Dahyun's hand affectionately. "You'll get the hang of it, Danny. University can be challenging, but it sounds like you're managing well."

Dahyun nodded, appreciating the reassurance. "Yeah, it's just different from what I expected. But every challenge is an opportunity to learn, right?"

"Exactly" her grandpa appeared from main entrance and chimed in, his eyes twinkling with pride. "You've got the spirit of a warrior. Just like those flowers, you'll bloom beautifully through it all."

As the evening unfolded, Dahyun found herself immersed in the lively world of the flower shop. The trio arranged bouquets, rearranged displays, and engaged in animated conversations. The shop became a canvas for Dahyun's infectious laughter and her grandparents' wisdom.

The warmth of her grandparents' encouragement enveloped Dahyun like a comforting embrace. As they continued their work in the flower shop, the conversation flowed seamlessly between tales of Dahyun's university adventures and her grandparents' nostalgic recollections.

Dahyun's phone buzzed, and she eagerly checked it, hoping for a message from Sana.

To her dismay, there it was—an unexpected message from an unknown sender, seemingly just another piece of spam cluttering her inbox. Dahyun couldn't help but sigh, disappointment evident on her face.

"¡Ay, abuela, abuelo, it's just some random spam again," Dahyun said, her enthusiasm deflating as she showed them the peculiar message that had interrupted their lively conversation.

Her grandparents peered at the screen, exchanging amused glances. "Well, Danny, not every message can be a gem. But let's not let a little spam spoil our evening," her grandma reassured, gently patting Dahyun's hand.

Dahyun nodded, offering a playful smile. "You're right, abuela. Now, where were we? Ah, yes, abuelo, tell me another one of your jokes!"

And so, the flower shop once again reverberated with laughter as Dahyun's grandpa embarked on another round of jokes, his comedic tales weaving through the colorful blooms. Despite the brief interruption, the trio continued to create memories, finding joy in each other's company and the vibrant world of the flower shop.

Dahyun's grandma, a charismatic woman with a knack for jokes, couldn't resist the opportunity to inject humor into every moment. Her jokes in Korean, often left Dahyun in stitches. The small flower shop echoed with laughter, turning it into a haven of joy and love.

"Grandma, you have to teach me some of these jokes!" Dahyun exclaimed, wiping away tears of laughter.

With a twinkle in her eye, her grandma agreed, launching into a tutorial on the art of comedic timing and delivery. Dahyun, with her natural charisma, quickly picked up the nuances, leading to a series of comical exchanges that filled the shop with joyous laughter.

Amidst the laughter, Dahyun's grandpa, a gentle soul with a twinkle in his eye, interjected, "Now, now, don't let your grandma teach you all the tricks. I've got a few up my sleeve too."

Dahyun turned towards her grandpa, a mischievous grin playing on her lips. "Alright, abuelo, hit me with your best joke!"

And so, the flower shop filled with the rich sound of laughter as Dahyun and her grandpa engaged in a friendly banter of jokes and playful teasing. The love and connection between the three generations blossomed like the flowers surrounding them, creating a haven where time seemed to stand still, wrapped in the warmth of family and shared joy.

On the other side of town, in the lively atmosphere of the student council party marking the start of the semester, Sana found herself in the company of Jihyo and Nayeon. The venue was adorned with colorful decorations, pulsating with music that set the mood for a night of celebration.

The trio, dressed in stylish yet comfortable attire, immersed themselves in the energetic vibe of the party. Laughter and chatter filled the air as students mingled, sharing stories of their summer adventures and excitedly planning for the upcoming semester.

Amidst the lively sounds of the student council party, Sana couldn't shake the persistent feeling of hesitation that loomed over her. Although she had Dahyun's phone number, an unspoken uneasiness tugged at her as she debated whether to initiate a message. The courtyard's serene ambiance offered a moment of solace, and with her phone in hand, Sana hesitated, unsure about why she felt such nervousness.

Her friends, Jihyo and Nayeon, noticed the contemplative expression on Sana's face. Jihyo, always perceptive, inquired, "Sana, something on your mind?"

Sana sighed, grappling with her own emotions. "You know, I have Dahyun's number, but I can't seem to bring myself to message her. It's strange—I'm usually not this hesitant."

Nayeon nudged her playfully. "Why Sana?  Just drop her a casual 'Hey, how's it going?' or something. No big deal!"

Sana chuckled, appreciating her friends' encouragement. However, the unexplained nervousness lingered. "I don't know, it's just... different. Dahyun and I, we've shared so much, but it was so long ago and yet there's this part of our connection that feels like a puzzle waiting to be solved."

Jihyo offered a comforting smile. "Maybe it's just the anticipation of reconnecting. You miss her, don't you?"

Sana nodded, her gaze focused on the glow of her phone. "Yeah, I really do. And it's not just about catching up; there's something more, something I can't quite put into words."

With a shared understanding, Jihyo and Nayeon exchanged glances, recognizing the complexities of friendship and connection. "Well, if you ever decide to send that message, we'll be right here cheering you on," Jihyo said, her voice filled with warmth.

As the night unfolded, Sana continued to hold her phone, contemplating the words she might send to Dahyun. The courtyard, now bathed in moonlight, became a quiet haven where the rhythm of friendship danced alongside the uncertainties of unspoken conversations. Sana couldn't pinpoint the source of her hesitation, but she knew that whatever awaited in the messages between her and Dahyun held the potential to deepen the bonds of their connection.

As Sana stepped outside to take a moment and catch her breath, her phone felt like both a lifeline and a puzzle. She gazed at Dahyun's contact number, pondering whether to send a message or not. With a mix of nerves and curiosity, she decided to break the silence and reach out. As she clumsily navigated the interface, her finger slipped, and she accidentally pressed the call button instead of the message icon.

Panic seized Sana within seconds as the call connected. Her heart raced, and she fumbled to end the call, regret washing over her. Just as she was about to hastily disconnect, she heard a voice on the other end.

"Dahyun?" Sana stammered, caught off guard by the unexpected turn of events.

A moment of silence followed, and then a familiar, warm voice responded, "Sana? Is that you?"

Sana's eyes widened in surprise, a mix of emotions flooding her. "Danny! I... I didn't mean to call. It was supposed to be a message. I'm so sorry!"

Dahyun's laughter echoed through the phone, easing Sana's anxiety. "No worries, Sana! It's a pleasant surprise. I was expecting about your call"

Relief washed over Sana, and a genuine smile formed on her face as she jumped and smiled. "Really? What a coincidence. I was just thinking about reaching out."

Dahyun's voice carried a warmth that transcended the digital connection. "I guess our thoughts aligned. So, what's on your mind, Sana?" Dahyun, noticing the subdued tone in Sana's voice, sensed that something might be amiss. With genuine concern, she asked, "Sana, is everything okay? You sound a bit off." Sana hesitated for a moment, considering how to express her feelings. "Yeah, I'm just not feeling the vibe here. It's a bit overwhelming, and I could use a break. Can you come to me and get me out of this party?"

"I'm about to close the flower shop. Where are you right now?"  sensing that Sana might be in need of some company. Sana's response came quickly, "I'm still at the student council party. It's a bit overwhelming."

Dahyun quickly replied, "No problem, Sana! I'll come pick you up. Where are you right now?"

Sana's response came swiftly, providing her location. Dahyun grabbed her keys, locked up the flower shop, and headed to the party venue. When she arrived, Sana was waiting outside, her eyes reflecting gratitude.

"Thanks, Dahyun. I just needed some fresh air," Sana admitted, a genuine smile spreading across her face.

Dahyun gestured towards her car. "Hop in! We can find a quiet spot to chill. My grandad's old porch is nearby. It's a peaceful place."

As they drove, Sana appreciated Dahyun's thoughtful gesture.  Dahyun's gaze lingered on Sana, her silent note echoing in the recesses of her mind: "Who cares if love ends or fades away? It’s the only thing worth living for." The words, though unspoken, carried a weight of profound truth.

As if in response to the sentiment shared between them, Sana turned her eyes towards Dahyun. In that fleeting moment, time seemed to pause, the world around them narrowing down to the quiet exchange of glances. As Sana's mind wandered back to that intimate moment, a subtle blush adorned her cheeks. The unspoken connection between them carried the weight of that stolen moment, a memory etched into Sana's heart.
