Lua lay in her bed, listening to the radio. So far the morning news hadn't gotten around to Suyeon and Lucy, but it was just a matter of time. The commercials ended and the DJs came back on. "So," Big Jae said, "looks like there's a potential big scandal in the world of K-pop." 'What's going on?" Little Jae asked. "Didn't you read the Dispatch yesterday?" Big Jae asked. "Apparently not. Here-" the sound of papers rustling - "it's on page 22." Little Jae whistled. "Wow! Yes, that is a potential scandal: Suyeon and Lucy of girl group Weki Meki were found to be dating each other." "Weki Meki?" Big Jae asked. "Why does that name sound familiar?" "It's because Min-Jun - Hey, Min-Jun, isn't your girlfriend in Weki Meki?" Little Jae asked. Lua stared at the radio. It was a standard part of the show for the Jaes to tease Min-Jun about the fact that he was dating a K-pop idol, but they'd never identified her or even her group before. Were they really going to unmask her now?" "Hey man-" she heard Min-Jun's calm voice. "I can't answer that. I'm not trying to get in trouble." Big Jae laughed. "So now Mr. Casanova's going shy on us, pretends he won't kiss and tell. But I know for a fact that Min-Jun's girlfriend is in Weki Meki." "Whoa!" Little Jae exclaimed. "I hope her name isn't Lucy or Suyeon!" After a moment's silence, Big Jae cut in. "You can't see, because this is radio, but Min-Jun's shaking his head no. But I know that his girlfriend is in Weki Meki, and when I find out who she is, I'll invite her on the show, find out what Min-Jun's like in his off time." "In the meantime," Little Jae said, "let's open up the phone to our listeners and see what they think of this situation." Lua held her breath. For the moment she was distracted by the fact that she had almost been outed on the radio by her eagerness to hear what people were thinking about this. The first caller was in favor of Suyeon and Lucy being allowed to live their life and carry on their careers. The second caller said that Suyeon and Lucy should resign, because they weren't good examples for their fans. Then there was another caller in favor of Suyeon and Lucy, and another caller in favor, then another caller against, then. . . by the time they next went to commercial, the callers were still evenly split. Just then Rina came in. "Come on," she said, holding her hand out to Lua, "we're all hanging out in the common room. None of us need to be alone right now." Lua turned off the radio, took Rina's hand and got out of bed. As they walked to the common room, Rina asked "What did they say about it on the radio?" "The DJs didn't voice an opinion, and the callers were evenly split. And-" Lua stopped short, her eyes wide and her hand to . "I almost forgot. The Jaes almost outed me as Min-Jun's girlfriend." "Why do you think they didn't?" Rina asked. "I honestly don't think they know," Lua said. "They've managed to figure out what group I'm in, but they haven't figured out who I am yet.' "That's good, I suppose," Rina said. "How are Lucy and Suyeon this morning?" Lua asked. "About as well as can be expected. They've been sitting on the couch holding hands all morning." Rina looked toward the common room. "We should get in there. I've got a feeling we'll hear from Manager-nim soon." Lua nodded. "Let's go." When Rina and Lua came into the room, Lucy looked up at them, while Suyeon carried on looking out the window. "Hi Lua!" Lucy called out. "What's the news from the radio?" Lua told them what she had heard. "Well, that's not great, but it's not all bad either," Lucy said. "It's bad," Suyeon said, her voice a lifeless monotone. "The directors won't back us up if we've only got 50% support from the general public." Lucy reached over and gave Suyeon a hug. "Come on," she pleaded, "don't be like that. Things are going to be okay." Suyeon looked at her, her eyes red from where she'd been crying all night. "Will they really?" she asked. "Because right now it doesn't feel like they will." "We're still together," Lucy said. "Nothing the directors decide can change that." Suyeon nodded and rested her head on Lucy's shoulder. Doyeon craned her neck so she could see into the kitchen and check the time on the microwave. "It's getting close to lunch time," she said. "We should all eat, especially since we didn't all eat breakfast." She looked significantly at Suyeon. "I just don't feel like eating," Suyeon said softly. Doyeon stood in the kitchen doorway. "It just so happens that I've saved some pork belly in the back of the freezer for a special day. I think this qualifies - we're having pork belly for brunch." Suyeon snorted. "Yeah, this is a special day - 'specially bad." Yoojung stormed over and stood in front of Suyeon. "Look, Suyeon," she snapp
