A Rooftop and a Promise
Tripped Into LoveMinjoo kept searching for the older Kim all over campus, but it seemed like she was nowhere to be found. Growing frustrated, she wanted to give up on the search, but her guilt was stopping her.
She didn’t know what got into her back there, but she was disappointed in herself for the way she acted. Even if Chaewon was telling her they were engaged, she didn’t have to yell at her just because she didn’t like what she was hearing.
The film major was just so worked up because it felt like her freedom to fall in love with the right person was taken from her. She had always been a hopeless romantic even from a young age, all she ever wanted was to meet the right person and love them with her whole being.
Wonyoung was right, Kim Chaewon was exactly her type. Maybe in a different circumstance, she would have fallen in love with her freely. The older girl was beautiful and Minjoo loved how the shorter girl would express her feelings on her face. Chaewon’s voice was also beautiful, she hasn’t heard her sing yet, but judging by her speaking voice alone it would sound angelic.
Finally admitting to herself that she was the one in the wrong, she ended up texting Wonyoung for some advice on where to find the other girl so she could apologize.
Minjoo: I can’t find her, can you ask Eunbi where she might be?
Wonyoung: Unnie said to check the rooftop of the business building!
Minjoo: Do you know what flavor of ice cream she likes?
Wonyoung: Mintchoco!
Minjoo: Thanks Wonnie.
The frog couldn't believe she was doing this, but here she goes. Also, she couldn’t believe that the other girl likes the disgusting flavor of mintchoco, it just tastes like toothpaste.
Arriving at the convenience store inside their campus, Minjoo immediately went to the freezers to get some ice cream. Mintchoco for Chaewon and another vanilla one for her, call her plain, but nothing beats the classic. While paying for the ice cream at the counter she also bought some chocolate to keep on hand just in case.
Ice cream in hand, she headed to the business building to start her short journey to the top --thank the heavens for elevators-- and hopefully, the other girl would be there.
Well, here goes nothing.
The elevator doors opened up to the rooftop and Minjoo couldn’t help but look surprised at the state of it. This place looked like a dump, she couldn’t believe the business department would not maintain it better considering they had the second-highest budget besides the science majors.
Looking to her right she saw Chaewon leaning up against the railing and looking at the horizon. As much as the rooftop looked like a dump, Minjoo couldn’t deny how gorgeous the view was. The business building was located at the edge of their campus nearest to the small patch of trees that students call “the forest” and the view only added to the beauty of the older girl as the setting sun was framing her silhouette.
Despite being a film major, Minjoo was also an avid fan of photography, so she couldn’t help but capture the scene before her. To her, it would be a crime to deny the immortalization of such a beautiful moment.
*flash*
Cursing herself for forgetting to turn off the flash, she watched as Chaewon turned around at the sound. Realizing that it was her that came to find her, the older girl frowned at her presence,
“Why are you here?” Okay, so maybe Minjoo deserved the glare directed at her.
“I wanted to apologize, I was out of line--”
“Are you apologizing because you want to or did Eunbi-unnie force you to?”
“I’ll admit at first she forced me, but after looking for you for three hours I realized it was my fault.” Minjoo looked down in shame, she couldn’t look the other girl in the eye.
“Hmmmm.”
