Chapter Five
Caught

Baekhyun arrives back at the school and he sighs thinking what is he doing there again but he notices Joon and his friends laughing and they stopped, seeing Baekhyun standing by the gate of the school. Joon smirks and throws the wallet away before bumping onto his shoulder as he passed by him.

He looks at the wallet that was thrown and was about to pick it up when Jina picks it up before he could.

Jina runs her fingers on her messy hair and looks up at him, frowning a little. “You saw nothing.” She lower her head down as she passed by Baekhyun. He slowly turns around to watch her leave as she carry her huge bag.

He reaches to stop her by grabbing onto her bag, “You’re hurt.”

Jina sighs and she keeps her eyebrows at the center as she felt like Baekhyun pities her and it ticks her off. The feeling of getting pitied hurts her. “I said you saw nothing.” She pulls her bag from his strong grip.

*Why do I see myself in her?* with one last look, Baekhyun continues to walk the other side of the road to meet someone.

On the other hand, Jina sighs heavily and continues to walk while carrying her huge bag pack. She hisses her she touched her lower lip cut and walks straight to the sauna nearby. She takes another wallet hidden. “Good thing I’m not as dumb as them.” She mumbles.

After still having enough money for an overnight stay, she walks to the locker’s room to change her clothes and wash herself for a moment. She changes into her casual clothes and opens her bag, to get her wallet and walks straight to the ATM machine to check the balance of her shared account with her mother.

Jina bites down her lower lip as her only saving is slowly getting drained. *If this continues, I will not have enough money to get myself to Seoul and take the Entrance Exam to universities.*

Before she goes to her part-time job, she stops by a pharmacy nearby, she walks inside to buy herself just a band aid she doesn’t have enough the luxury to buy something more than that for her small cut.

“So, your father wants you to finish this new assignment in three days and he said if it’s possible for you to go home every weekends because your mother wishes for you to have dinner with them at least once a week.”

Baekhyun takes a sip of his Iced Americano and crosses his legs. “I’ll think about it. I don’t feel like eating with my father again. Aren’t there any bars here?” he asked as he looked outside and just like fate, he sees Jina again standing outside the pharmacy, removing the adhesives of the band aid and faces the glass to hopefully see her own reflection.

She puts the band aid over her cut while Baekhyun just looks at her as he takes another sip of his coffee, “This place is boring.” He mumbles as he follow Jina who started walking. He turns to look back at the person he’s talking to. “How long do I have to stay here?”

“I believe until you finish your last assignment.”

Baekhyun’s eyes lands on Jina who entered the same café and keeps his gaze on her as she talks to the manager of the café. “I can’t wait to go back to Seoul. I don’t like it here.”

Jina dips her head to greet the manager who happens to be one of her family’s friend. “Sorry, Jina. There aren’t any available opening here at the café. And you can sleep in our house for a couple of days, but you know we’re struggling recently too. I’m sorry, I know your father helped us a lot…”

She nods her head as the café manager pats her head with an apologetic smile on his head. Jina waves her hands dismissively. “No need to give that apologetic smile. I understand. Please don’t mention that man as my father again too.”
