Hyukjae looked at the invitation in his hands with a heavy heart and stared at the fancy script written on it inviting him to yet another wedding this year. Kyuhyun, his roommate and best friend, watched him try to burn holes through the parchment with his eyes and rolled his eyes when he saw Hyukjae give up and slump back on the couch. 

"Yah! What the hell is wrong with you?"

Hyukjae scowled at him and threw a couch cushion in his direction to try and shut him up. 

"My cousin's getting married in two months," Hyukjae grumbled then let the invitation fall out of his hands and onto the floor. He muffled a groan as he thought about the endless questions he was about to receive when he faces his family at their usual get together. Endless questions about getting married and how "the longer he waits the smaller his pond gets" type of advice. It wasn't like Hyukjae didn't want to get married...or fall in love...the opportunity to do so just never came up. Other than the fact that he's been really busy lately with his new job, finding a suitable partner who'd be okay with his long work hours just made his search that much more difficult. 

"You know, most people are happy when other people get married." Kyuhyun interluded when he saw the look of despair on Hyukajae's face at his TV reflection. "At least pretend to."

"I am happy." Hyukjae muttered grudgingly. "What I'm not happy about is showing up there and getting fussed over about how I'm getting too old to still be single and the constant pity speeches of how I'm going to die alone."

"Well, it's not like they'd be wrong about that- OW!" Kyuhyun flinched when Hyukjae threw the remote at him. "Yah! That hurts!"

"It's supposed to!" Hyukjae yelled back before slumping himself back on the couch. He started to wail against the cushions the more he thought about his miserable life. Kyuhyun was still rubbing his shin where the remote made contact against his body while also looking at his roommate and best friend of eight years, and shook his head helplessly at him. 

"Stop your whining. It's not the end of the world."

"Yes, it is." Hyukjae's muffled response was garbled by the pillow he was currently suffocating himself in. Then, when the need for air became unbearable, he lifted his head up, glared at Kyuhyun and said, "You don't know my family. They know just how to the life out of you and make you feel like about yourself before you could even take a seat on the table."

"If it's that much of a hassle then just don't go."

"I can't not go. Sungmin hyung will kill me!" Hyukjae whined then flipped himself over to his back so that he was now staring up at the ceiling. "Besides, it would just give them more ammunition to torture me later on. They'll start talking about me trying to save face cause I'm all sad about being alone or start some stupid rumor like that."

"You know, there are people starving in the world," Kyuhyun commented with no remorse to his situation whatsoever. "If you're just looking for a date, just go pick some random guy up at the club and make sure to give him a good so he'd agree to go to the wedding with you."

"Aish," Hyukjae was annoyed at Kyuhyun's unhelpful ideas and threw another cushion at him as hard as he can. "Can you stop saying such ridiculous things already! This is a legitimate problem, okay?!"

Kyuhyun hugged the pillow that Hyukjae threw at him and raised his hands in the air. "Okay, okay. Geesh. I was just kidding." Then in a softer voice, muttered, "I wasn't kidding about the getting laid part though. You've been so uptight lately."

"Ugh!" Hyukjae tilted his head back on the couch and asked the heavens why did he have such a of a roommate. "I told you, I'm not uptight. I'm just stressed. I worked really hard to get into the company I work for now and I don't want to lose it."

"Yeah, but...four days straight of overtime when you've only been there three weeks is a little overkill, don't you think?"

Hyukjae pouted his lips and made up an excuse for his busy schedule. "We're just in the middle of a big project. Plus, the CEO has been MIA for like a month and a half so a lot of the departments have been pushing back deadlines which in turn just piles up all the project that we have to do."

Kyuhyun scoffed. "Typical a-hole rich guys."

"Yeah," Hyukjae agreed mindlessly. "I wish there were cute guys at my work. Then maybe I could at least bring someone with me just to keep my aunts from saying anything."

"Wait a second. Is that all you need? An eyecandy?"

Hyukjae furrowed his eyebrows at Kyuhyun's choice of words and crossed his arms. "So to speak. I just don't want to attend the wedding by myself again."

"Well, why didn't you say so!" Kyuhyun's cheery voice puzzled Hyukjae and even more when the latter pulled a business card out of his wallet. "Here. Give them a call and all your problems will be over."

Hyukjae took the card from him and was surprised at what it said. "Where the hell did you get this from?"

"Ryeowook gave it to me," Kyuhyun said nonchalantly. "He met his boyfriend through that company."

Hyukjae's eyes widened at the new information. "What?! Ryeowook's dating an !?"

"Not an . A male companion" Kyuhyun clarified. "He said he got lonely and then one of his coworkers gave him the card and that's how they met."

Hyukjae made an 'o' shape with his mouth while nodding his head in understanding. He was about to move on from the card when something clicked in his head. 

"Wait a second." He squinted his eyes at Kyuhyun and peered at him curiously. "Why do you have this card?"

Hyukjae wouldn't have believed it if he didn't see it with his own eyes but Cho Kyuhyun was actually blushing. Hell must be freezing over right now or someone somewhere have successfully attached wings on pigs because Cho freaking Kyuhyun was blushing right now!

"Sh-Shut up!" Kyuhyun yelled. "He gave it to me as a joke, okay?! I've been meaning to throw it out but I keep forgetting."

"Uh-huh." Hyukjae laughed but chose not to say anymore in order to keep this in his ammunition a little longer. Glancing at the card, Hyukjae read the company name and slogan in his head. 

GLOOMY? We know your style!

Hyukjae smirked at the cheesy advertisement and put the card away. There was no way he'd ever get desperate enough to call for an . No way!
