Chapter 15: Under The Full Moon Pt. 2

Clearing Our Names

Just a heads up, this is Wheesa heavy. Enjoy :)

Mention of death. Will mark it down in case you want to skip it over. Will highlight it, so you can skip it

"Wheein." She heard a small voice call out to her. "Wake up, Wheein!" They cried out again. The young woman opened her eyes to stare into her best friend's eyes. However, she was much younger. It was as if she was twelve again. "Wheein get up or else we'll miss the sunrise."

The older girl got up as she rubbed the sleep off her eyes. "Aren't I usually the one to wake you up?"

Hyejin smiled brightly. "Yeah, but I couldn't sleep because I was super excited and thought I'd finally return the favor."

Seeing the beautiful smile in front of her, Wheein couldn't help but smile in return. "That's real sweet of you." The girl got up and grabbed a hold of her friend's hand. "Let's go see the sunrise shall we?"

The younger girl nodded in agreement and the two giggled as they ran out the house and out the village. Going up the mountain, until they finally reached the peak and stood beside each other as they looked at the sun slowly lifting itself in front of them.

"Wow." The two said in unison. Hyejin looked over at Wheein to see her smile in amazement and felt her heart beat a lot faster and her face becoming flush. She quickly looked away before the girl could see how red she was. "We should do this more often." She suggested, making Wheein laugh.

"That means you'd have have to wake up early."

"Nevermind." The two laughed. "You think we can watch the sunset too?"

"Of course. We can even watch that one many times if you like, cause I know you'd be awake around that time."

"Then should we run back here?"

"I don't think that's a good idea."

Hyejin tilted her head. "Why not?"

"Did you forget? It's gonna be a full moon tonight and there was a werewolf spotting here."

"Okay, then we can go to my place instead. It's the closest to where the sun would set and we'd be safe from these 'werewolves' in the forest."

"You make it sound like I made those guys up, but did you forget that the village hunter got attacked by one?"

"That guy would make up any story for attention."

"I don't know, he looked pretty terrified."

"Just to set the mood and terrify the villagers from leaving. If he was really attacked by one, he would have had injuries, but he didn't, so I'm not gonna let him scare me ver something that doesn't exist."

Wheein remembered how Hyejin would always talk about leaving the village. How she would travel the world and meet many people. She would always include her in the stories, but the older girl doubts she'll leave. If she does, no one would take care of her mom. "Let's go back. I bet you're hungry." As if on queue, Hyejin’s stomach growled, causing the two to laugh. Wheein grabbed her best friend's hand and led them down the mountain top. "Let's go. My mom is gonna make us kimchi eggs."

That seemed to energize the younger girl. As she began to lead the two instead.

The two girls screamed and laughed without a care in the world as they ran all the way down the mountain and into the village where they were greeted warmly by the villager folks.

They said their hellos to the village merchant and lumberjack, who smiled brightly as he sharpened his axe. "Those two have a lot of energy today, don't you think?"

"They always do when they're together." The merchant answered as he set up his shop. "It would be ashamed if anything got rid of those wonderful smiles."

"I agree. Their laugh always makes this gloomy village more alive." He went to check the sharpness of his axe, before placing it on his shoulder and standing up. "Whelp, I gotta go chop some wood." The two said their goodbyes and he headed out the village.

"Do be careful. I heard, the sun sets much earlier and that there's going to be a full moon." The merchant warned. However, the situation didn't seem to faze the lumberjack at all.

"Don't worry about me." He reassured. As he walked into the forest, not noticing that something was following close behind.

~~~~
Hyejin and Wheein were on the roof of the Ahn houeshold as they looked at the sky and watched as the sun setted into darkness.
"I think I like the sunset more." Hyejin said. With the sunrise, she felt energetic, but with the sunrise, she felt relaxed and at ease. The emotion she enjoyed being in the most.
Wheein chuckled at her answer. "Of course you do. You'd barely be able to see the sunrise with how late you wake up."
The younger girl couldn't help but laugh. "I'll never understand how someone can wake up so early and have so much energy at that."
"Probably with magic." Wheein assumed and the two went back to watching the sunset. After a while of silence, Hyejin decided to break it.
"Hey, Wheein?"
"Yes?"
"Do you think we'll always be together like this?" The younger girl was a bit hesitant to ask this question, but she wanted to know what her friend would say.
The older girl was quiet. Trying to think of what to say. "That I can't really say, because things always happen that we might not be able to be by each other while that be tomorrow or the next year."
That didn’t seem like a right response as Hyejin pouted. "I wish something were to happen for us to stay together forever."
Wheein chuckled. "Of course you'd like that. You're obsessed with me."
"Of course I am. Who wouldn't want the Jung Wheein all to themselves?"
"What did I even do to grab your attention?" The older girl asked, but she knew how her friend would answer.
"You just existed and once I discovered you, I just had to have you all to myself."
The two laughed again. The laughing was cut short when Hyejin heard some faint noises coming from the forest and looked over to see someone moving as if they were limping. They looked big and tall like the lumberjack. "Wheein, I think I saw lumberjack Jack in the forest. He looked hurt."
Wheein looked over to see what her friend meant, and saw him.  As she did, she noticed the younger girl getting up. "Wait Hyejin, we can't go there, that's outside of village bounds."
"But Jack needs our help."
"Hyejin, we're kids. We can't do anything for him. I think it's best to get your parents to help instead."
"I don't care. My parents are sleeping, so if I try to wake them up, he could be dead by then."
"Hyejin!" Wheein yelled for her best friend as the girl went inside the house and cursed. She couldn't let her go by herself and ran after her.
As she ran out the house she noticed the younger girl run into the woods. "Hyejin, wait!" She was surprised by how fast the girl ran as she usually doesn't do that much running.
Suddenly she heard a loud scream from afar and sprinted. "Hyejin!" She yelled out again. She ran to where she heard the noise and froze in her tracks once she saw the back of a huge beast full of fur tower over her friend. She assumed that it was the limberjack by how tall and bulky they were and if she remembered what the village hunter said, he was now a werewolf who's in need of food.
Wheein looked over to see her friend on her back staring up in fear as she held onto her arm. It was covered in blood, so she assumed the monster had clawed her. Which she was slightly at ease about, cause although it was painful, it meant she was going to be okay and not turn as a werewolf’s saliva would have to be inside the person's blood in order for them to turn.
She had to think. If she didn't do anything the beast was going to eat Hyejin, so she looked over and grabbed the thickest stick she could hold. After giving herself some mental motivation, she ran at the werewolf and smacked the small branch against the monster as hard as she could. The stick broke and the beast turned to her. It's anger now on her as it bared it fangs.
Wheein wished she had stopped the Hyejin earlier. "." Was the only thing she whispered under her breathe as she threw the stick and ran off. The beast roared as it chased after her. The girl knew she couldn't outrun the beast, so she screamed for help as loud she could as she ran towards the village. She looked back to see the beast lunge at her and dodged it. She quickly got up and ran again until she was close to the village. She was smiling as she could see the farmhouse and screamed for Mr. And Mrs. Ahn. She felt like maybe she could survive this, but as she ran inside the village, she tripped. Trying to get back up, she realized she had sprained her ankle. Fear took over her body as she heard growling from behind her and slowly turned her head back. The werewolf had now towered over her. Its claw raised up into the air. She cried out for help as she used her arms to try and shield her face, knowing it would do nothing to stop the sharp claws. The beast roared as it struck down its gigantic claws on its victim below.
The woman turned to her. No longer the human that she was. The beast fully taking control. As it ran at her, Wheein tried to get up, but slipped on her own blood. Cursing, she had to choose between exposing herself or let this beast kill her. It was as if everything went in slow motion. She looked at Hyejin running at her her as fast as she could and looked back as the monster lunged at her.
She couldn't die now. She simply couldn't leave Hyejin’s side. As she was about to turn, her friend stepped in front of her, whincing in pain as the beast bite down on her forearm. She then used her wand and casted a spell to shove the beast off her. As she did, the monster became dazed and she took this opportunity to attack. Turning into the beastly form and clawing the mad wolf’s stomach.
Hyejin knelt down on the ground as she looked at the wound on her arm. She began to feel the affects in her and had to do something quick or else she'll turn into an uncontrollable beast as well. Thankfully, she remembered about saving a page that did take the werewolf's saliva out the system and went to do just that. Placing a few of Wheein's hair - that she found on her clothes - on top of the wound, she then casted a spell. A sigh of relief when she no longer felt like she was going mad. She was then startled by the sound of a loud bang and looked up to find the wild werewolf on the ground. A pool of blood surrounding their head and the murder weapon used pointed towards Wheein.
~~~~

After clawing the beast, Wheein went to strike again, but was quickly blocked. The two werewolves then fought as their lives depended on it. Wheein was able to make the wild wolf stumble, but not before getting scatched on her face. She was about to deal the finishing blow when a loud bang rang out. A second later, the werewolf in front of her fell to the ground. She didn't even have time to react before the same weapon that nearly killed her in the past was pointed straight at her. The captain of the ship behind it.

"Wheein!" Hyejin screamed. She made her way over and stood infront of her best friend. She noticed the older man was panting and sweating as if he had ran all the way here. "Give me one good reason why I shouldn't kill this monster here too?"

"She isn't attacking anyone. She did nothing but save me and other people."

The older man looked over at the beast who was now human. He looked at the woman in front and noticed a wound and pointed his weapon at her. "How about you?"

This time it was Wheein who went to defend her. "If she was infected, she would have turned by now."

The captain still had his gun pointed at them. Wondering if he should believe them and let them live or pull the trigger. They haven't attacked or killed any innocent, so maybe he should let it slide for now, but he remembered the last time he did. He nearly went to pull the trigger, when a flash of his smiling child looking up at him appeared. He stopped what he was about to do as they reminded him too much of his aon. Sure, they are older, but judging how young they were, he knew he would have been the same age as them by now. He mentally cursed at himself for what he was about to do. Releasing a deep sigh, he withdrew his weapon. "Count yourselves lucky."

"Thank you."

"Don't thank me. I'll shoot you the first chance I get if I see you about to harm a citizen." He then walked away. Leaving the dead wolf on his deck as he knew his crew would later clean it up. He had another problem that needed his attention more than this.

Hyejin turned to her friend to see her bandaging up the bite mark on her arm. She looked up at her friend's face to see the wound across her cheek quickly vanish. "Good thing it's a full moon."

Wheein smiled as she finished wrapping up the wound and pat the side of her face."Well, this would've been avoided if it wasn't a full moon.

"You know exactly what I meant." She pouted, but it swiftly changed to a smile. "I'm just glad you're okay. By the way, where did you get that bandage?"

"Oh, Byulyi gave me one before we we left the inn. She said just in case something happened and we need immediate attention."

"That's smart of her, but why didn't she get me one?"

The werewolf shrugged. "I don't know. Go ask her for one the next time you see her."

As if being summoned, Solar and Byulyi finally made their way to the younger two. The ex-guard had her sword drawn out. Both her and the vampire had ran as fast as they could, but were stopped a few times by other passengers trying to stop them on the way here. They were soon set to go once she pulled out her sword. "What happend? Is everyone okay?"

"We're okay. Not much happened." Wheein said. As if there wasn't a dead body a few feet away from her and Hyejin with a bandaged arm. The body surprised the moonsun couple. The werewolf followed what they were looking at, until their eyes landed on the body. "Oh, we didn't do that. The captain of the ship did."

However, that only gave them more questions than answers. For now, they would have to set it aside as their first priority was to get the hell out of there before someone sees them. "That at least solves that part." Byulyi said. "Now how about you guys get over here, so we can leave before you start smelling like a dead corpse." That sentence seemed to have earned her a smack from the ex-guard.

The Wheess duo followed the vampire's request and made their way to the older two then they all left the premises.

The vampire pointed at the Hyejin’s bandaged arm. "What happened?"

"The werewolf bite me, but I was able to take the saliva out before I turned. Also, can I get a bandage? I don't think it's fair that Wheein gets one and I don't."

The vampire rummaged inside her cloak and threw a roll of bandages at the witch. "Here."

"Woah, why do you have this many bandages on you?"

"Eric gave me a lot."

Before anyone could say anything about that, they all stopped in their tracks after seeing the destruction in the bottom deck, dining floor. It was as if a huge battle had happened witht the furniture, decimated. The wall and floor covered in claw marks. Nothing was left unscathed. The ex-guard looked around to find both Eric and Jungkook, then made her way over. After seeing the four, the older knight began waving with left hand. The other one held close to his torso as it was wrapped in a shirt around his neck.

"Eric what happened? Are you okay?"

"This person just turned into a crazy wolf and attacked us. Taehyung turned too and fought the guy, except it didn’t look like he was on our side either since every time we got too close to him, he tried to attack us. Even broke my arm while he was at it. Everything turned out okay though. In the end, Taehyung killed the guy and calmed down enough to turn back to normal."

Solar winced. Imaging the amount of pain Eric must have been when he broke his arm. That definitely meant he was in no condition to fight the dangerous duo while his arm healed. "Luckily the captain wasn't here."

"He actaully showed up after Tae turned back and got his men to clean up the body." Jungkook butted in time. "Hwasa's friend was here before hand and nearly chopped Tae's head off. I actually think he might have, if Jimin hadn't stepped in."

The older knight let out a long sigh. "Werewolves sure are something. I assume the same thing happened to you guys with Wheein?"

Wheein shook her head. "We had someone else turn."

"Yeah, she did a number on me and Wheein," Hyejin added. "But the the captain came in and shot them in the head with a silver arrow."

"It's are actually called a silver bullet." The five looked over to see Loco standing before them. A few scratches visable on him, but he seemed okay for the most part. "Those things he shot in his gun are called silver bullets, not arrows." He then looked over at Hyejin and noticed the small bandage on her arm. "Are you okay? Who did that to you?"

Hyejin placed her arm close to her. "I'm okay thanks to Wheein, so don't go assuming she did this."

"I didn't assumed that. That's why I asked who."

"Right." Hyejin chuckled awkwardly. She didn't know why she went to automatically protect Wheein, when Loco would never assume much. It must have been from the many times she had to before. Back when it was just the two of them and everyone wanted her friend dead because she was different. The witch's sudden mood change was evident to the three women, so Byulyi went to change the topic.

"What those things are called doesn't matter. What matters is that he made that werewolf drop with that small thing."

The mercenary rubbed the back of his neck. "Yeah. The last time he left a werewolf alive, they killed a lot of people, including his wife and son." That seemed to have shocked the six. They all didn't know how to feel about that information. Loco seemed to have noticed and tried to change the subject. "Anyways, because of the full moon, we were finally able to at least find two of the stowaways."

"So that's why the captain called for you?"

"Yep."

"What do you mean two of the stowaways?" Solar asked.

"We had four in total. We only found two of them because they turned. And before you ask, the only two werewolves we had counted on board was Wheein and Taehyung. That how we knew the other two were stowaways."

The six looked at each other, as they can assume who the other two were.

"Wait, Wheein, how come you didn't turn?" Eric questioned. "I thought all werewolves couldn't help but turn under a full moon?"

"That can happen, unless you can fully control your inner beast."

That seemed to have confused everyone besides Hyejin, as they all now looked at the werewolf for an answer. The small women began to sweat as she had to now explain to them the whole werewolf transformation method.

As the large beast lunged at her, Wheein covered her face as she knew what was about to happen. She was then instantly pinned to the ground. She screamed out in pain as she felt the werewolf tear into her.

"I'm gonna die here."

--GRAPHIC DEPICTION OF DEATH--

She thought to herself as she was being torn apart. She screamed as she felt the skin from her limbs be ripped piece by piece violently. Pools of her own blood seeping out at where it once flowed.

--GRAPHIC DEPICTION OF DEATH OVER--

Her only remaining thought was hoping someone heard her and was now on their way to save Hyejin before she meets the same fate as her. She later stopped screaming as she began to fade in and out out of consciousness. Soon the pain faded and numbness took its place. She felt someone touch her and small drops of liquid fall onto her face. She couldn't see who it was by the blur of her vision nor could she hear what the person was saying by how small they spoke. However, she knew who it was and allowed the darkness to finally consume her as she was okay lying asleep in this person's arms.

~~~~
Mr. Ahn was fast asleep when he heard distant screaming and jolted up. The sound may have been far, but the voice sounded very familiar, so he quickly got out of bed. He then made his way over to his youngest daughter's room to find the door wide open. His stomach dropped. Taking a look inside, he had hoped to find her and her friend sleeping, but instead found an empty room. As he now knew who the screaming was coming from, he rushed down the stairs and grabbed a torch and a pitchfork. Eciting the safety of his home, he looked over to see a humongous beast a top someone. He ran at them and pierced his pitchfork into the werewolf.
It howled as it got up and looked at him in anger. Mr. Ahn got a good look at the towering beast and remembered seeing those clothes from anywhere. His heart broke as he remembered the once kind lumberjack who would always offer to help his family. Now they were nothing more than a wild beast that should be put down as a way to show mercy before he hurts anyone else.
It pained Mr. Ahn to know that he could not save this man and what he now had to do. He then ran, making the beast chase after him. He found some alcohol laying out from the drunkard neighbors across and threw it at the monster. Covering it in the flammable liquid, where he then threw the torch, catching the beast on fire. As the beast howled and screamed in pain, he grabbed the pitch fork from its back and stabbed into its leg where it fell and he kept stabbing the beast until the monster had enough and pushed him off. It stood up as if the flames did nothing, but make it more threatening. The man feared that he might be the next victim when a sword pierced through the flamming beast's heart. It let out a painful cry as the light left its eyes and fell to the ground.
Mr. Ahn looked up at his savior to find a younger man with long silver locks tied in a ponytail. He wasn't someone he recognized and was curious for his reason for being here, but was thankful none the less. The young man wiped the blood off his blade and sheathed it, then reached his hand out for him to take, which he gladly did. He then said his thanks to his hero.
"You're welcome." He finally spoke as he went to point at something behind Mr. Ahn. "Are those two with you?" That's when he heard the crying sound of his daughter as she yelled out her friend's name. The older man rushed after where the two were and his heart broke in half when he saw Hyejin, kneeled down, covered in blood, and sobbing as she held onto her best friend for dear life. Screaming for her to wake up, but the girl laid lifeless in her arms.
Mr. Ahn went to hold his daughter tight as she cried out. He looked down at the lifeless body and if he was being honest, he couldn't even recognize her. Wheein was like his fourth daughter, so to see her like this, he couldn't help, but shed some tears as well. He didn't realise the young man was standing beside them until he felt a hand on his shoulder and looked over to see him. Sympathy evident on his face.
"It may not look like it, but she can still be saved, just follow me."
Though he saved him, Mr. Ahn didn't know if he should trust this fellow. However, if he knew some way to help Wheein, then he'd do anything. He had to try and save her. If not for his daughter, at least for her mother, who was now all alone. He picked up the two girls and followed the young man to wherever.
~~~~

Hyejin sobbed so much, she eventually passed out and awoke inside a strange room. It was cozy, but it not a room she recognized. Looking around, she noticed her father sitting beside her asleep and went to gently hold his hand. He awoke from the small action and felt so much relief as he pulled his daughter into a bear hug as gently as he could, so as to not open any of her wounds.

"Appa, where's Wheein?" The little girl asked her father. He sighed as he knew she would ask this. He let go of the hug, so now they were face to face.

"Hyejin, I don't know how to tell you this, but she had been really hurt. The werewolf attacked her so bad, that a small person like her should be dead." Tears began to fall as guilt filled her mind at the thought of her friend being gone because of her. If she had listened to Wheein from the beginning, none of this would have happened. She just wanted to help, but it only led to her friend's death. She couldn't even imagine a world without her. Mr. Ahn saw the sadness in his daughter's eyes and his heart broke. He wiped a few fallen tears. "But, the strange part is that she isn't dead. There was someone there who saved me and he knows how to heal werewolf attack wounds and made you both all better."

The little girl was confused what he meant by the both of them until her father pointed at the bandage on her arm as if he knew her confusion. "Can I see Wheein?"

"Of course you can, but she won't be able go wake up since her body is still recovering from the attack." Hyejin understood what her father meant and the two went to go see the small girl. They stood in front of the door, but before they enter, Mr. Ahn needed to tell is daughter something. "I want you to know that she was hurt really bad, so you may not even recognize her." He didn't wait to hear an answer and opened the door.

Hyejin’s grip tightened around her father's hand as she looked at her best friend. She was covered in bandages all over her body. Even half of her face was covered in it. The other half was the only part of her body she could see and she looked like a new person. Her hair was no longer the long black length, as it was all gone and replaced with a buzz cut. However, she was able to see the color and was surprised that it was now bleach blonde. Thetissue in her cheek growing fast which seemed to have confused her. Before she could say anything, someone walked in. "You seem to be a lot better." A strange voice spoke. A voice she had never heard before, so of course her initial reaction is to see the face of this man. He stood tall and firm. His face gentle as he smiled softly at her. "You don't know me, but you can call me... Dr. Wolf."

He reached out his hand for her to take and although she was abit hesitant, she quickly accepted it as he did went to save soulmate. "Is Wheein going to be okay?"

"She will. However, it will take some time before she can wake up."

"That's good to hear," Mr. Ahn sighed in relief. "But are you sure there's no way to remove that curse after?"

Dr. Wolf shook his head. "Once it starts flowing through her veins, there is no going back. Be glad she gets this second chance or else you'd be burying her instead."

"I know. I just worry about her when we go back to the village." The older man looked down at his daughter. "Hyejin, how about you go rest back in your room, while me and Dr. Wolf talk bout a few things." The little girl pouted, as if she also wanted to be a part of the conversation about Wheein's situation. Afterall, she is her best friend. "I promise I'll tell you everything after, okay?"

"Can I sleep next to Wheein?"

Mr. Ahn looked at the younger man, who seemed to have agreed with no questions and the two brought a bed over for the girl and placed it right next to the other bed in the room. As Hyejin got on and slept, the two left the room to talk in the girl's old room as it was more private. "Now about Wheein."

The young man sighed. "Although I cannot remove the curse from her, I can do a few things to conceal her identity."

"Really?" The older man was ecstatic at the news not knowing that his expression disappointed the younger man a bit.

"I can. After the transformation is complete, she will smell like a werewolf, along with growing both a tail and sharp fangs. I have a serum to lessen the smell, to the point where it's there, but it can pass off as a human's scent. The fangs can be hidden as long as she doesn't show her teeth. The tail is going to be difficult to hide however."

"Oh god, how am I going to explain this to her mother?"

"I mean we can always cut the tail off, since she doesn't need it. It'll be very painful though."

As much as that would get rid of that tail problem, Mr. Ahn was hesitant. "Personally, I would let you cut it, but it's not my decision."

"Right choice. I'll ask her when she wakes up and go from there."

"Wait, when will she wake up? I can't lt her stay here for too long. Her mom will question me."

"Just tell her that her daughter is sleeping over at your house." Dr. Wolf spoke and began to leave the room. "Also, she won't have any memories of the incident. If you want, you can tell her the truth or tell her a lie. Either way. Her ability to control her inner wolf is up to what you tell her." With that, he left. Leaving Mr. Ahn alone in the room. The older man walked back and couldn't help, but smile at the sight before him. His daughter had abandoned her bed and was now asleep beside her friend, in a weird position as to not harm her friend by the slightest touch. He decided to lay beside the two in Hyejin’s bed and rest his eyes.

It took a two more days until Wheein finally woke up. All her injuries healed as if it had never happend. The young girl had questioned what happened to her, but the two adults avoided the question and sighed in relief when her best friend went to give her a bear hug and explain it instead. Dr. Wolf had asked her if she wanted to keep her tail, which she answered yes to, so they wrapped something around her waist as to hide it on their way back home. The three then waved goodbye to the young man and were greeted with worried folks as they entered back into the village. Mr. Ahn apologized for worrying everyone and soon everything went back to normal.

That didn’t seem to last long however. The following week, Wheein's mother discovered her tail and reacted like any mother would react. She grabbed the nearest knife and cut it off in hopes to get rid of the curse, but instead, angered the beast inside the small girl. Then after, did the girl have her first transformation.

Hyejin was taking a rest when she heard loud commotions from outside. She didn't pay it no mind until she heard the sound of a werewolf snarl and shot up. Getting out of her bed and looking out the window, her stomach dropped when she saw a bleach blonde werewolf backing away from pitchforks and torches. Their tail having been cut off and a trail of blood made wherever she went. "Wheein!" The girl yelled out as she made her way outside.

As she left her home, she heard the sound of a pained welp and looked over to see that her best friend was stabbed with the pitchforks.

"Monster!" They would call her. "Beast!" They said as if they did not know her. Hyejin froze as the mob went to terrorize this child they once knew. The werewolf did not attack them, but instead growled as she blocked any attacks, as if she knew not to hurt them. When she was stabbed again, that's when Hyejin finally snapped out of it. "Stop it!" She cried out as she went to protect her. Taking a stand inbetween them so they wouldn't try to hurt Wheein again.

"Hyejin move, so we can kill this monster."

"No! I won't let you!" Her fear vanished, as it was replaced with anger. "I won't let you hurt Wheein! Did you forget that she's human?"

"She USED to be human." The man grunted in disgust. "Now she's a hideous monster who harmed her own mother. A kid like you wouldn't understand. The only thing we can do for her now is to put her out of her misery before she hurts anyone else. Now step aside or else we'll have to kill you too."

Hyejin turned back to see the large werewolf behind her. She had met another before. Thinking she could help them but didn't get to say anything before she was attacked. This time she was able to have a whole arguement with an idiot and not once did Wheein attack her. She just stood there listening as if she was just another human. That was the only confirmation she needed that her best friend was different. That she wasn't like the others. She looked back at the man. Her face full of determination. "You talk about killing Wheein because she's a monster now, but the only monster I see is you."

That seemed to have ticked off the man as he swung his torch, only for it to be caught. He was shocked by this and looked over to see Wheein towering over him. The flames on the torch were immediately distinguished once she grabbed it. She looked down on him with a  murderous gaze. Her teeth bared as she let out a low growl as if telling him to not even try. The man let go of his torch as he backed up. Fear written all over his face. "A monster I tell you."

Before Hyejin could react, she was scooped up and being carried away. She was at first scared until she looked over to see that her dad was the one carrying her. Wheein following right beside him. "Appa?" Hyejin was shocked.

"Hyejin take Wheein and go far away from this place."

"But what about you? I can't leave you."

Mr. Ahn stopped running, taking a few huge breathes, before speaking. "You can't leave Wheein either." He smile sadly as he looked at the small girl in front of him. It's gonna hurt for him to do this, but he had no choice. "Don't worry about me. I should be worried about you two. You and Wheein are only thirteen. Just promise me, you'll be with each other and keep one another safe okay?"

"You know I will Appa."

Mr. Ahn kissed the top of his daughter's head, as if it was the last time he'll ever see her. He stood and saw Wheein looking away. As if she was guilty for tearing the father and daughter away from each other. He walked up to the werewolf and kissed the top of her head as well. "You're a good kid Wheein. You will always be family. Protect Hyejin for me."

The sound of an angry mob could be heard from far away. Indicating their time to finally say goodbye. "Go you two, I'll stall them as much as possible."

As she watched her father turn around and walk away from her, Hyejin was conflicted. She wanted to help her father, her family, but once she heard the small whimpers of her scared friend behind her she knew what she had to do. "Goodbye Appa."

"Goodbye Hyejin and Wheein. Now get out of here." He spoke one last time. Wheein took his advice and put her friend on her back. The two then ran off further into the woods. Hyejin closed her eyes as tears began to fall down, wondering if her father will be okay or if she'll ever see her family again, but one thing was for sure. She will always keep her promise and stand by her best friend's side no matter what.

...so technically it's been the next month. Sorry it's been awhile. I've been procrastinating a lot, (Totally haven't been playing a lot of genshin) and my cousin has my laptop, so I can't do my editing. For now, you're gonna have to deal with the grammar mistakes until I get my laptop back.

Hoped you liked the little backstory on Wheesa. I don't know if I ever wrote about how Wheein became a werewolf, if I did, I apologize for changing it, but I liked this a lot more than the previous one. If I didn't, just ignore this. I've been writing this story for more than a year, so give me some slack 😅 I know for sure that I wrote how Moonbyul became a vampire, but I might change that as well or maybe not, we'll see. Anyways hope you like and have a good day. Be safe as well!
