It was almost Valentine’s day. Dara really wanted to make the day special since it was their first one as a couple. She made sure she took some time off that day. It was a good thing it landed on a Friday. Donghae was also preparing for that day. He wondered if Dara wouldn’t mind going on a trip with him somewhere. He called to see if she could get time off from work.

Donghae: Baby? Are you busy?

Dara: Who’s this?

Donghae: (Laughing) You obviously know who it is, the caller ID will let you know.

Dara: What’s with the baby? 

Donghae: You don’t like it? 

Dara: But you’re my baby, it’s the other way around.

Dara: Awww...sweetie, as much I’d love to stay on the phone and talk with you, I have a lot to do today. I was hoping to finish as much as I can since I’m planning to take the Friday off so that we can do something special

Donghae: Really? That was actually the reason I was calling you, so you’ll be off Friday?

Dara: Yeah, what do you have planned?

Donghae: It’s a surprise but I’ll give you a clue, there’s some traveling involved

Dara: Oooh, I’d love that! 

Donghae: Good, it’s settled then.

Thursday night, Dara called Donghae to ask more about where they were going.

Dara: I need to know if I need to pack anything.

Donghae: No, it’s a day trip.

Dara: Oh, I thought we were like going somewhere for a couple of days

Donghae: We probably could if you like

Dara: You know what, it’s alright, whatever you have planned...

Donghae: Okay, I’ll pick you up early, wear something comfortable and warm

Dara wondered where they were going after the call ended. She thought they were going to Jeju but why make it a day trip when they can stay there...what was she thinking? Of course they can’t spend the night. Maybe he was avoiding that kind of situation so it was only a day trip. She was embarrassed, it seemed like she was implying that they spend the night together, must be her subconscious talking. Dara got the Ipod to help her sleep. Donghae didn’t get it back from her, he even offered to replace it but she liked her old Ipod, besides she’s afraid to lose the song he recorded for her years ago.

The next day, Donghae picked her up from her house and started to drive somewhere. She saw some flowers at the backseat and wondered why he didn’t even hand it to her. Maybe he’ll just give it to her when they got to their destination. She thought they were going to the airport but it looks like they were driving South. She still didn’t know where they were going until they got off the highway to exit towards Mokpo. Dara remembered that Donghae’s family was from there. They got off what seemed to be a cemetery. Donghae got the flowers from the backseat and held Dara’s hand as they walked towards the area where Dara is guessing his father was buried. He laid the flowers on the grave and was silent for a while.
