Donghae waited for Dara outside the lobby. He wanted to go up but she said no one else was home so she’ll just meet him downstairs. When he saw Dara, he waved at her and she started walking towards the car. When she got in, he could smell her perfume, it was so subtle yet so intoxicating, or maybe it was because it was her wearing it.

Dara: Hi.. 

Donghae: Hi, uhm I forgot that I didn’t tell you where we were going but you wore the right dress. 

Dara: Oh really? Why? Where are we going?

Donghae: It’s an oyster bar at the yacht club, you’ll love the sunset there

Dara: Can’t wait

They drove in silence for several minutes, each not sure of how to start the conversation. When they got to the place, they got seated a table next to the water. The combined smell, sound, and sunset around them was very relaxing.

Dara: Thank you for bringing me here, it reminds me of the South of France

Donghae: It must have been nice to get to travel like that.

Dara: Oh no, that was for work. I feel like I have been working 24/7 for the past 7 years, this week was the only time I actually felt I had a vacation 

Donghae: That’s good to hear. So, what did you want to tell me?

Dara: Can we order first? (Dara realized she needed some liquid courage for what she’s about to say)

Donghae: Of course...

The service was swift, she drank halfway through her glass of champagne when she spoke.

Dara: I wanted to give you this (Dara reached in to her bag and brought out the old Ipod)

Donghae: (Puzzled why she was giving it back) Why? That was a gift

Dara: I just want to give back what it has done for me. It kept me sane all these years knowing that once, someone felt something so strong for me that they made a song

Donghae: How come you didn’t tell me that before?

Dara: Because I was stupid for pretending I already have the gift when you called me that night. The truth was, I only got it the day I was on my way to Paris. Don’t ask me why, that’s beside the point. Before I knew about the song, I went to your graduation to see you, but you were with someone else at the time so I didn’t bother to approach you.

Donghae: Wait a minute...who was I with?

Dara: Some girl, you even hugged her tightly and...

Donghae: Jessica...

Dara: Yeah. whatever (Dara cut him off) no need to mention her name

Donghae: (Smiling) Is that you being jealous? 

Dara: Yah! Lee Donghae, can you let me finish?

Donghae: All that time (shaking his head) just wasted...because of our assumptions

Dara: What assumptions?

Donghae: Me thinking that my confession got rejected and you thinking I’m with Jessica

Dara: You weren’t?

Donghae: No, she’s just a friend and she’s about to leave for the States during that time so I guess you just saw us say our goodbyes
